Background: Kasotou was a youth who always looked up at the sky, up into the endless nothingness that was space. It was while he looked to the sky that he thought "There has to be something more." This was during the wars between the native people in the east - Ainu - and the settlers from the main land up north. He was of the Ainu, and only recently did he adopt a name which was of the northern settlers. He dreamt of Takamagahara, a land he knew was there yet couldn't see. He was a young man who did not believe in killing, unless it was nessicarily. Those he slayed in combat were always met with a prayer before they left to the afterlife. He spent his nights, praying for the lives he took. He spent the days after combat carving into his forearms the number of people he slayed as to avoid forgetting them. Because of the pain he inflicted upon his own body to repent for his sins, he spent minimal time in Yomi. After he left that Hell, it was then he took in the land of Takamagahara. It is on this land he rose to the rank of Kirin due to the fights he led between the northern settlers and his people.

Background: In life, Tye was victim of a series of unfortunate blows dealt by fate. He was born into a broken home along with his brother Coyan. Their mother, sadly, was a vicious sociopath who reveled in humiliating and torturing her hapless offspring. With no father figure to keep the woman in check, she became ruthless; vile. Tye, being the older of the two boys, took on full responsibility for protecting his brother. Coyan broke a dish? It was Tye who'd dropped it. Coyan forgot to do his chores? Tye had forgotten he'd offered to do it for him. Coyan, like his mother, unfortunately developed sociopathic tendancies and used Tye's selfless protection to weasel his way out of things. It wasn't long until Tye was the sole benefactor of both his mother's and his younger brother's scorn. While walking home one evening, Coyan lashed out at his submissive brother in a bout of violent anger over something rather trifle; The push resulted in a fall down the hillside that snapped the selfless youth's neck. When Tye was taken to the underworld, Aizen-myoo couldn't ignore the young man's strife in life. She spared him the undeserving pain of Yomi and allowed him into Takamagahara as a Baku. Since then, it has been rumored that Tye has become a favorite of Aizen-myoo's, and that she relies on solely on him for relief from her nightmares.
