She had walked and walked and walked, past her homeland and on. Her petite, skeletal body shook like a leaf with every step that she took and the stumbles had begun to take their toll; grazing her legs and chest against rocks and solid ground.

Solid ground. Ah it was truly a blessing! Sand was something that haunted her nightmares, biting at her wounds, tearing at her eyes. Grass and soil to her was something precious now, something very special indeed.

She had paused just outside of her destination to take a rest, lying amongst a thick patch of grass to watch it's dance with the wind. She was finally away from the desert, finally away from all the suffering.

Almost...

Her body convulsed with grief as she thought of Churo's words to her, the biting, painful truth that would forever destroy her heart. Her parents and brother had forgotten her. They had been blessed with children and no longer even spoke the name Kiburi. If only they'd known why she couldn't return! If only they'd known!

Her body convulsed with a terrific sob and it was there that she lay, crying out her heart, the sound loud and unmasked and full of desperate grief that had been held in for so long.

Then it was with a heavy heart that she continued, pushing her body onwards until she thought it might break. Her body had grown numb to pain and now nothing seemed to matter.

She was free and that was a precious gift.

It was not long after this that she entered the lands of her destination, the place in which she sought to live out the rest of her days. The place that she would try to forget the horrors of her past.

Asi had grown restless, and agitated. Not only was his mate still gone... well.. at least his daughter and son had returned. And unfortunetly, Uumi. But not only that but Uumi had done the unthinkable with his daughter again! And Sye was huge! It wasn't like she was just going to have one again, this time. He growled slightly to himself as his large paws hit the ground, he was heading for the area where the river slid into the woods.

His tail lashed behind him and he just shook his head softly.

Her eyesight dwindled upon the horizon, focusing and unfocusing as she staggered onwards. She moved only by instinct now, knowing that somehow she was close to finding peace.

Close. So very close.

Her nostrils flared slightly as the stranger approached and for a moment fear lanced down her spine. What could she do!?

She had moved through the trees as quietly as her stumbling paws would allow, and had found the river which she now followed, but her pale fur would stand out like a sore thumb!

She dropped to the ground then, wincing at the sound of crackling grass.

His ear flicked but it wasn't as good as it used to be, not that it was ever very good. His nostrils flared as he stretched slightly, moving himself toward the river. It was much calmer down here, though it got pretty rough upstream. Especially where it met with the hills.

Wait.. he could smell another. His sense of smell wasn't nearly as shot as his hearing was. "Oy, come out ya'ear?" He growled slightly, in no moods to be playing games. Hopefully Kib wouldn't receive too bad a first impression though.

Having grown used to following orders Kiburi barely even hesitated as she slowly rose up from the grass beside the river. Her ears were flattened back, her head was held low and her tail curled tightly around one boney hind leg.

The ribs that jutted from her sides seemed worse than usual from the shadows each one created and the scars that covered her body had healed so terribly that they would forever stand out against her fur.

The once pretty 'princess' had been reduced to nothing but a slave and that would be a habit hard to break.

She took one small step forward but did not speak. She would only speak when she was given cause. Probably not the greatest of impressions...
