Left-wing radio network Air America is rumored to be looking at a bankruptcy filing acording to left-wing blog Think Progress. I'm hesitant to put too much stock in what a left-wing blog posts but this was interesting.

Well we knew their ideology was bankrupt, I guess it is only a matter of time before their bullhorn went the same way. 3nodding

Of course. That's the only way right-wing talk shows manage to stay on the air, because the government funnels them money! Oh em gee the gub'mint's tryin' to brainwash us!

Anyway, to me it wouldn't reall matter if they went bankrupt or not. I don't listen to them anyway, or anyone associated with them. Still, if they do go bankrupt, it'll be interesting to see how other "progressive" talk shows react to it.

Somewhat unrelated, but I hate Ed Schultz. That jackass in Fargo...blugh, good thing North Dakota has Scott Hennen, too.

I really don't know how to feel on this one. To be quite honest, I never minded listening to Air America. Hearing Mike Maloy say "Bush Crime Family" a time or two per hour was kind of interesting (admit it, you probably smirked when he said it, too xd ). I know my boys John & Ken on KFI am 640 sounded frustrated at times, but man...Air America sometimes sounded outright indignant.

What would a bankruptcy filing mean, anyway? How is it that a radio show can go bankrupt, especially one that touts itself (or used to tout itself) as being "all that's left"? Does it mean that the station will emerge as more of a PBS format...running monthly donation drives to keep itself out of the red?

Well, Air America was a failed concept to begin with. Hopefully Soros will keeping throwing/wasting money on it.

Let's see, movies, tv, music, education... nope the left wing view point just isn't getting out there... let's try radio!

Please... air america has been going under the day it started. nobody cares. Know why conservative talk radio is so popular? is because it's one of the few things we conservatives have! So we listen (and there are a lot of us) and they do well! I'm not a fan of Rush (yeah yeah burn me at the stake razz ) but I LOVE Glenn Beck! he's funny, entertaining, disscusses some great issues, and all around he's good at what he does! THAT'S why I listen to him! Not because bush told me too... or because it's some sort of duity as a right leaning person. And that's what air america sounds like to me. They were created to 'balance' out raido, but they're not entertaining, and frankly nobody wants to hear what they have to say, because it's already being shoved down our throats in so many other ways.
