She'd done quite well for herself so far, though Azula wondered if she could do better. She'd befriended (rather well, in fact) a princess of the blood, possibly two, and to be perfectly honest she was quite happy with the additions to her enterage ((I probably butchered the spelling on that ^ ^; )). The lioness, satisfied for the time being, made her way towards the oasis.

She was still new to the lands, but wasted no time whatsoever with familiarizing herself with it's borders, the dens, and visited the dunes often to ensure that her sense of direction would stay sharp despite the shifting sands. Now, however, she needed a moment to enjoy to herself. There were quite a few cubs wandering about the pride, more than she was used to having traveled for so long before finding her home.

As the firekin huntress sat gracefully, her rough paletted tongue scooped water into her waiting jaws and down her throat, her ears and nose alert as could be for other's approach. Outsiders would not be taken to kindly, but perhaps she could find a little outside entertainment today. She hadn't had any for some time now.

Having grown tired of putzing around the Graveyard and her other familiar haunts, Sauda decided it was time for a change. Yes, a change. She hadn't been to the Oasis for a couple days now, and frankly, the thought of the familiar spot seemed quite a bit more appealing than staying where she was.

Her ears and eyes were fully alert for some reason she couldn't quite figure out. It was probably just the wind or something, but for some reason, she had the oddest feeling as she drew closer to the relaxing oasis. Shrugging it off, she shook her head and lifted her nose to try and pick up any clues. But, there were none as of yet..

Upon finally reaching her destination, Sauda's head tilted slightly to the side as her nose picked up a new scent. Definitely lion. And when she finally noticed the source of that scent, she blinked a couple times. This lioness was... bright red? Now, she was no expert on the subject, but since when did lions come in that color?

For the moment, she opted to seat herself a short distance away from the lioness, though she gazed rather openly over at the larger female.

((Hehe, don't worry about spelling. I got the general idea of what you meant and that's the most important thing. ^^))

Azula, in the other's defense, did have a slightly better vantage point. When the first hints of the other's approach became apparent, Azula became more alert. By the time Sauda reached her location Azula was already well aware of her presence, but showed no signs of having noticed her yet.

Only once the lioness had her fill to drink did she speak, licking her muzzle dry briefly.

"It's not polite to stare, you know."

Something in her tone sounded too calm to be truely scincere, and the exact same calm with which the red-female spoke made her sound dangerous, as though she might've just found a potential new mouse to toy with until she grew bored. A more trusting individual probably would have been fooled by the "kindness" in Azula's voice. The huntress lifted her head to gaze over at the young hyena, not really caring either way.

It didn't surprise her that the lioness was almost immediately aware of her presence in what she had assumed was a public place. She knew truly little of lions, but she did know that the hyenas that inhabited the Graveyard she'd recently begun to call home again were not at all fond of the felines. Sauda herself had no problems with them as long as they weren't trying to cause trouble. She wasn't all that difficult to get along with.

The other's remark cause her to smirk slightly, though it probably just looked like an odd sort of smile to the lioness. As it was, her senses were on full alert, and she still had that weird feeling that something wasn't quite right. Sauda certainly wasn't naive, but she liked to give others the benefit of the doubt before condemning them as being good, or bad.

Head tilting, she shrugged idly and flicked her tailtip as she noted the subtle tone of Azula's voice. She'd crossed paths with her sort before, and frankly, this one didn't really impress her any more than any of the others had. Still, she did know to be at least a little bit cautious. Afterall, this lioness didn't strike her as the type that spoke quietly, as she just had, for no reason whatsoever..

((Eep, sorry it took so long!))

"Nothing to say?"

Azula quirked an eyebrow, decidedly liking the lack of retort. In fact, the other seemed just as amused as Azula was.

"So what brings you to this part of the dessert, my canine friend?"

The lioness shifted back and rose on her haunches, stretching out a bit as she moved to lie down on her stomach instead.

The femme's next remark did make her smile, however. Apparently she'd been expecting Sauda to make some kind of catty reply, and frankly that just wasn't the hyena's style; the lioness would just have to get her kicks some other way.

"Was bored, decided to go for a walk, and this place is one I hadn't visited in a while, so here I am," she replied simply, offering the lioness a playful wink, though she chose not to reply to the first question. Maybe she'd let the larger femme wonder about that, if she chose.

"It is a rather nice place, isn't it?"

"It's pleasant enough, a relief from the heat, at least."

She sounded a little bit bored as she turned her gaze from the canine, forgetting quickly about the previous baiting.

"You seem quite a way from home, that was quite a walk then... or do hyenas frequent this close to the desert?"
