Black is the absence of color, and white is all colors. So they aren't really colors, or are they?

On the light spectrum black is the absence of color and white is all colors. On the color spectrum white is the absence of color and black is all colors. So in one way or another I would say that they are both colors....

I've heard from my sister whos studied art in college, that if you spin a color wheel extreamly fast the color that you get is. . . not black or darkish brown--but white! Amazing. I think white is the purest form of all color and black is the void of it all.
