It's a little creepy. I still don't see the point of prayer, in the sense of 'asking for something from God', if God is omniscient. And I've still not seen a trend of prayer-effects which suggests that prayer is effective for getting what you pray for.
I wouldn't suggest it to my kids.

this seems to be a voluntary effort by church people in Arizona. i do not believe the government instigated it.
if i were Bush i don't know whether i'd be glad for the support, or embarassed.

Aliikai_Kudo Tis creepy....and they say that America isn't religiously biased O.o The laws are, and so too is the Constitution and Amendments, however, that does not mean that society has to be anti-religion; or pro-religion, or anything-religion. The site, well, it creeped hell out of me.

Do they pray for whoever is president, or just for Republicans?

SyphaBelnades Do they pray for whoever is president, or just for Republicans? http://pptkids.org/index-20041105.php The very first sentence on that page (under "In This Issue") and the first section of the first article should answer that for you. I found that page in the archives. It was from the day after the last election day.

While its kind of scary that they're recruiting kids, I couldn't help but laugh when they told the kids to pray for the Director of Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Of all the people they could choose to put on the site...

Recruiting kids? *shudders* well...he's got a point there, make it "good for the kids" and you can get at the parents. Still though, I bet more people then just me want to wallop him for this.
