Suggested Weapon: If you are going to Head Lock (use this only on Plate Runs please) a lance with 400+ attack, a dragon elemental weapon is suggested, or maybe a water elemental weapon.
Suggested Armor: Armor that has good Fire resistance or dragon if you happen to come across one like the Hornetaur
Weaknesses: Head, Tail can be chopped off, and the face and both the wings can be broken, this by all means does not mean it is weak when these parts are no longer part of the Wyvern. Weak against Dragon and Water.
Strengths: Has high Fire resistance, some lightning defense.
Fighting Tips: When soloing it I usually go ahead and cut its tail off as soon as it shoots since this lowers the tail for easy hit, of course you have to do this a few times before it actually comes off. After that is cut off, it is suggested that you attack it's face but hit it only a few times and get out of the way and wait for another chance to hit it. Standing between its legs is not a good idea since this wyvern may randomly run or fly back and shoot you for easy hits. Attack this creature while it is attacking is a good idea. This means that if it shoots attack it, if it spins attack where it started spinning, and etc. With any other weapon the hit and run tactics works well on this thing if you want to do a moderate amount damage without getting hit as often. When its' in the air and you see it wiggle its' feet, do the OMFG jump or hold the block button. This move will do critical damage on you and poison you.
Tips on knowing it's next move: If it seems to be walking in place then there is a high chance it will run. If it turns around really quickly it will also have a high chance of running but also a chance that it will fly towards you, but if it turns slowly then there is a chance it will either shoot you, fly, or bite you. Shooting is the highest possibility.
Description: The King of the Sky. This thing is a frightning creature to begginers especially if you come across it when all you were doing is gathering an egg, but also a symbolic figure to the Monster Hunter world for others. Rathalos is a fire Wyvern that focuses mainly on flying which annoys alot of people. He is a fire elemental monster but like all Wyverns, very weak to Dragon.
Carves: Rathalos Scale, Shell, Claw, Tail, Webbing, Plate, Wing, Bone Marrow
More will be added when i finish the guides to the other monsters

Same with Hammer, and if flashed, the triple pound like twice with a good hammer knocked him over.

Be sure to carry a good bag full of them and some Felvine if you hate cats.

The best time to use a Flash bomb on Rathalos is when it's up in the air shooting fireballs.
Aim the flasbomb where the fireball lands and it will come crashing down dazed.
Make sure not to stand directly under it's shadow when doing this or it'll drop on top of you
