Since the days had passed, Inari still hadn't gotten much bigger physically, only mentally...sort of. He was still a curious cub, wanting to have an adventure everyday, see and learn new things, but do it on his time. Many a day had he run off sneaking away from Amari and Maawio, his parents, who he loved so much. But sometimes Inari just wanted to get out and get better at being himself. But he had high expectations for what he wanted to do in life.
He wanted to be a grand lion, a grand pride-member, and have his name be known by everyone not only in the pride but outside it as well. He wanted enemies of the Pridelands to shudder if his name was spoken. But to do that he would have to get bigger and stronger.
So this is where his adventuring has brought him, outside of Priderock, play-pouncing, trying to improve himself. To get stronger and impress his dad of how strong of a lion he was going to be. But all of his 'training' was quite boring when he was all alone. Inari hadn't really met anyone else in the Pridelands yet, and he wanted to make friends. He was beginning to wonder if he was looking in the wrong places, or just wasn't trying hard enough all together.

No was hiding again from her brothers, who seemingly had diabolical plots to pounce her from all angles. It was very likely she brought the problems on- they only did it because she threw such a fit. But regardless, the lean black female was hiding once again, this time a bit off pride rock. She was sunning, something which the black creature did remarkably well, her entire little body stretched out across the rock while she daydreamed. She dreamed about plenty of things- but the main focus of all of them was how she would someday be great.
She wanted to be a hero.
Even she wasn’t sure what had put the idea into her head that she could become, or would even want, to be something like that. But she knew all the while that it was what she was made to do in this world. To be a brave, quick female- to leave these pridelands someday, in hopes of helping others achieve the peace she had here.
Someday.
The only inherit problem with this plan, besides her youth, was that No honestly had no idea about what troubled the world. And without a problem, it was very hard to be a hero.

Inari continued along, the sun high over his head beating down upon his tiny frame. His tail swayed a bit as he bounced along, his eyes taking in what they could before he spotted a black...thing, up ahead. Perhaps it was some sort of danger! He crouched down quickly, and started creeping forward as if stalking pray. Perhaps it was an intruder, or just somehting to pounce on. Yes, that could be fun.
As he neared the figure though, Inari noticed the black lump was looking more like a spraled out lump of a lion. More then that, a furry black lump of a lioness cub. Why was she like that? He folded his ears back and stood still for a moment...well, the stones did absorb the heat. And it was pretty warm out. Sun bathing sounded nice to Inari, but he never did it, he was more likely to be found wandering around the Pridelands looking for fun or tricks to be had.
Today, this seemed like the only interesting thing.
Standing up now Inari padded forward in open view, his golden like eyes peering forward at the cub before him. They seemed around the same age, maybe, perhaps she was younger, or older, but neither mattered at the moment. For age is only a number don't you know?! "Hello," Inari stated just loud enough for her to hear, hoping she wasn't sleeping, "Having fun?" he asked with a smile. Then suddely he tried to puff out his chest to look all big and strong, however, he just looked like a furry inflated pufferfish, "I'm Inari, who're you?"

No snorted as suddenly someone began to speak to her. She pulled her head back somewhat, peering forwards at the head suspended just a few inches from hers. “I was.” She replied simply, and lowered her head back to her paws. “I don’t want to play. If that’s what you’re asking.” The female spoke lightly, and swayed the end of her tail. It wasn’t so rude a comment as that it sounded somewhat tragic. He was still talking, which caused her to flatten her ears. “My name is No.” She’d never heard of this fellow before. “Where did you come from?”

Inari flattened his ears back as it seemed he had upset her in some way. Interupting her fun of whatever she was doing. PLus she didn't seem to want to play...Inari didn't usually play besides the tackles he tried to pull on his brothers, or the pokes towards his sister. Inari liked adventure...but he wanted a friend to go on adventures with.
Her name intrigued Inari, he had never heard of someone named like that. But it was short and simple and sweet, so he liked it. But he was still sorry if he upset her, "I'm sorry...if I interupted you or anything No..." he spoke swaying his tail slightly. "I'm Inari, I live with my family by the big rock..." he said pointing with his paw in the direction of Pride Rock.
"I've just been wandering today...and came across you...hope your not mad..." he said sincerely, he didn't want her mad. He just wanted to have a friend. No, seemed quite nice to Inari.

What was with people and thinking she was mad? “I’m not mad.” She spoke simply, and curled her tail. “I’m just mature.” She spoke, using the word she’d heard an older lioness speak of her with. She wasn’t really sure of the meaning, but it sounded like a compliment. “I live here too,” No pipped. Was that a given? “I’ve never seen you around here before, that's what I mean.”

"Mature?" he spoke with a questioning tone, he had never heard that word before. But it must be a good thing, or she would not refer to herself with that word. Maybe he was mature too? Possibly...but he didn't act exactly like No, perhaps they were both mature in some way. But they were both cubs as well.
"I haven't met many in the pridelands much...everyone seems to be hanging around with their friends and I...well, you get the idea," he said not wanting to say he really didn't have any friends in the area...though it was a true fact.
"No would you like to um...maybe go for a walk maybe?" he asked with a flick of his tail. Perhaps they could talk some more, he was also a bit thristy, they could stop by the watering hole too if she wanted.

No turned her subdued green eyes towards the male cub and arched her brow. How was it that she seemed to attract people to her? It wasn’t unwanted...but it made her fidget. Words came clearly in her mind; but when she spoke, she found herself flat and unsure. She didn’t know how to talk to friendly people- no doubt they thought asking her to play was some sort of charity work. Well-! Someday... The small female wrinkled her nose and looked away. “If you want to go for a walk, I’ll go.” She said simply. Just so long as it didn’t end up with her being pounced.
“Where do you want to go...?” No spoke, and flicked her tail somewhat absently. It gave her the look of being uninterested- but it was unintentional.

Inari was beginning to believe that No had been in some situations that resulted in her not liking to company of others perhaps, but she seemed alright with going for a walk, which was reassuring. "To the water hole maybe? It is hot out..." he said with a smile, pawing at the ground beneath him.
"Plus...to tell the truth...I don't know where everything is really..." Inari was still unsure of how to get back and forth to some palces. perhaps No could help him.
He'd appreciate it.
"Shall we go?" he asked, and watched her tail flick, "I won't pounce on you...or tackle you like I do my brothers...I promise," he said quietly, he knew the feeling of not wanting to be pounced on, but it happened anyway to him sometimes.

No perked her ears. “It’s alright. I know the area well.” She had to! Well- she knew at least some of the land. And only from the area and angle of a small child’s line of sight. She’d managed to escort the little girl cub not more then a day ago when she had become lost. It pleased her to think that she had been able to do something important like that. Those were the kinds of things she wanted to be known for. The black cub stepped off the rock, her body moving somewhat awkwardly. She seemed to be trying to adapt adult movements to her childish form- but it ended up making her top heavy and silly to look at. “I’m glad you wouldn’t.” No remarked flatly. “I don’t like when people pounce me. Not when I’m not ready. You should only pounce people if you really mean to.”

Inari nodded at ehr words and walked side by side with her. Noting her strange way of walking, but he did that sometimes too, puffing out his chest a bit to look like the older males, look bigger and stronger then he was. Merely a cub he still was, but he hoped to grow bigger soon.
This was nice.
"True...pouncing can be fun, but only, like you said, if you mean it, or if its for practicing if you wanted to be a hunter..." he said thinking of his words. To be a hunter would be grand, a warrior even more. Inari wanted to be everything others would find appealing, he wanted to be the best he could be.
"Thank you No, for walking with me...showing me around here," he said trailing his eyes over everything. Seeing new places he hadn't noticed before. He was glad he found someone his own age tot alk with, walk with, it was nicer then getting lectures from parents.

Almost reading his thoughts, No spoke simply- “I’d much rather be a great warrior then a hunter. I want to help people.” She said, her nose almost stuck into the air as she slowly pranced. She wanted the world to be like this place- and yet, she was already getting a sinking suspicion that it was not. No one had actually said anything to her...but the death of Mufasa had rattled most of the pride as far as their saftey had been concerned. No didn’t want people like whoever that had been to do such a thing roaming around. When she was older...! Well, they would see.
“I’m going to be a hero someday.” She spoke. “I think if you have to be something, that’s what you have to be.”
"...And-" She paused, suddenly missing step with her conversation as Inari thanked her. "You're, um-- welcome--"

Inari liked this, walking side by side with No, it was nice. Perhaps they would be friends, which would make him happy. Her words made him think, she wanted to be a hero, such a nice goal for someone to have. "I just want to be something, be someone recognized...I want to make my family proud."
Thats all he wanted.
Was it too much to ask for?
His parents and siblings cared for him so much, he wanted to become something they would be acknowledge, and be glad that he was their son. To have a son everyone knew, would make them so proud he was convinced. "I'm sure you will become a hero No, you already seem to be helping others, me for one," he said with a smile.
Yes, this was nice.

No paused in thought, and flattened her ears as she strolled besides him. “Really...?” She questioned. No one had actually agreed with her before. Usually the adults scolded her, or they ignored it as a childish fantasy. And maybe it was- but the sudden thought that it could possibly become true enlightened her. Sure, she had never doubted herself before. But there was always a nagging voice that willed her to hold back. “I don’t know.” She admitted. “Heroes have to be special. I’m not really anything special. In all the stories, they’re different when they’re children. They had something extraordinary happen to them. Nothings ever happened to me. And my family is great, but nothing special has ever happened to us.” She spoke, and lightly kicked a small flat stone. “That I know of.”
“I wish it was simpler then just wanting to do something.”

Inari smiled as he walked beside No. She was truly different from what he had suspected by glancing in ehr direction. She truly wanted to be something great. Inari thought it was amiable. He flicked his tail and thought of her statement.
"But if everything was easy...everyone would be teh same, be able to become the same thing, now that wouldn't be too fun would it? To have everyone go after the same thing you want?"
He thought for a moment, something great had to happen to him, to them for them to become something great? "Perpas someday something grand will happen, like meeting a god or godess, I've heard stories about them...surely one will seek you out No." Inari smiled. No would definitely become something grand.
But only time would tell.
He thought for a moment, then jumped forward playfully, onto the ground, not her, "Lets go get better then, you and me today. Training to be great. What do you say?"
