How many Soquili had she met now? The mare was slowly beginning to forget as she wandered the Kawani lands but one hting that did stick in her mind was the fact that the majority she had met seemed to have extravagant clothin or were of a more 'exotic' species such as the Kalona, Flutters and Wind. They really made her feel as though she was completely outclassed to the point that she'd developed a surprising distaste towards th Wind species.
Nevertheless, as she savoured the warmth upon her pelt and admired the scenary before her she couldn't help but smile and cast those thoughts to the back of her mind. Even as autumn approached she couldn't help but be overwhelmed by a sense of awe...the changing of nature into deep reds, oranges and browns that complimented her own coat so well - it made her feel almost as though she was at home.
Still, as she cast her grey gaze out across the surroundings she flashed a small smile and shook her head. She had a feeling that she would either bump into someone new or someone she'd known for a while today, it simply depended on how the spirits felt at the time.

The sound of quick, pounding hoof beats came from the distance. Though as Chu drew closer to the clearing near the Kawani Village, the hoof beats got louder and louder.
Nothing but a black and green blur as she ran past trees and jumped over rocks and logs. Her mane and tail whipping wildly behind her as she breathed heavily as she ran. In her mouth, a small green leaf dangled from her teeth as she huffed and puffed her way across the clearing. Turning her head back a few times to look behind her.
As she stopped in the middle of the clearing, she turned to look down the way she had come from. 'Did I loose him? Or is he just being tricky?' Was what she thought to herself as she waited. Giveing her curly tail a few quick flicks as she marched inplace, ready to dart away at the first sign of the grey spotted wolf. Not noticeing anyone else nearby. She was too preoccupied with her game to really look around, as she wasn't too sure she had lost Mingan.

Initially, the mare from the mountains simply didn't hear the approaching female but as she felt the rumble beneath her feet and the muffled thumps of hooves upon grass and semi-compacted soil her ears twitched and swivelled into place. Now aware that someone was approahcing, she even took it upon herself to shift her weight so that she could gaze over her shoulder with more ease.
...She had been expecting a soquili, but knowing her luck she had expected one of the 'rare' ones. Much to her surprise (and delight) it turned out that it was a mare and also one very much like her with extravagant markings and yet...no signs of 'rarity'.
Giving a whicker, the mare smiled in welcome and allowed her left ear to flop lazily once more. Evidently the mare was younger than her, but what was she waiting for exactly? It was almost as though she was being pursued but had little fear of it!

Chu's attention was still on the path that had lain behind her. Her bright green eyes concentrateing on it. Though as a few minutes passed and he didn't appear, she figured she'd lost him, for the time being.
Though as the unexpected whicker came from Yei, she nearly froze in her tracks. Utterly surprised from the sound comeing from no where. Her ear twitched, flicking the rainbow colored bown in her curly mane a few times. Turning her head just slightly, she spotted the other mare not too far away. She reminded her of Firefly, though not as dark colored, but the same hair and such. It interested her a bit. Not haveing met another mare that reminded her of Firefly.
She mentally shrugged, dropping the leaf in her mouth instantly, haveing forgotten it was there for the moment. It wasn't polite to have things hanging out of your mouth when you met new Soquili. Giveing a soft nicker, she trotted over to the other mare. Always the friendly, bubbly one who approached anyone who came near her with no fear.

Yei's non-lazy ear swivelled in reply to the greeting and she gave a delighted whiny of her own. Her smile grew and as she admired the female she could only give a brief flick of her mane and a little nod. All in all this young mare seemed approachable enough and she had been the one to greet her for once!
"Afternoon." She chirped merrily, canting her head to the side as her tail brushed against her hind quarters. The mare may have been aproachable but unfortunately like every other soquili she didn't have magical powers that chased away the morning flies that insisted on plaguing this poor mare in particular...she blamed her thick coat.
"Pleasant day isn't it?" She continued before arching a brow and glancing behind Chu as if curious as to who was meant to be pursuing her, "Was someone after you perchance?"

Chu smiled brightly, giveing her tail a few flicks back and forth against her hinde legs. She got closer to Yei then stopped a few feet away from her. "Afternoon."
She giggled for a moment and grinned widely. "Oh, just Mingan. I stole his precious leaf and he was chaseing me for a little while. But I think I lost that crazy little wolf." Her eyes shone brightly in the sunlight. Though luckily for her, it wasn't all that hot today so her dark coat didn't feel all that warm.

Oh, so this mare had a familiar too? Yei couldn't help but grin at this for the simple reason that anyone who had a familiar was incredibly interesting. It seemed that each of them was perfectly complimented by their familiar to the point that if one couldn't express themselves then the other would do it for them.
"You have a wolf?" She repeated and then released a small, warm chuckle, "One of my companions from the teepee I live at has promised that he'll acquire two mountain lions for me, an inside joke but I would rather love to have that type of company." She mused before canting her head to the side, her lazy ear twitching once more.
"Oh, excuse my manners as well...I'm Yei Umeko though must call me Yei, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Chu nodded at her question, her smile still bright and cheerful. "Yes, and he's quite the odd one really. But really fun to tease and play with." She giggled lightly and shook her head a bit before looking at Yei again. Her ears perking forward a bit as she introduced herself.
"It's quite alright. My names Chu'mana, though most just call me Chu. Atleast, some do anyways. Either way you can call me whichever one you prefer." She marched in place a few steps, excited to finally meet another Soquili again. It had been a while since she'd seriously met and talked to another Soquili besides Firefly, Cadaver and her mate.

"How long have you known him?" She continued, curious as to how she had encountered the familiar as she had always been curious into how all these soquili met familiars who complimented them so perfectly. Perhaps when she was told enough she could even find the perfect one for herself and then she could play these sort of games!
"And I'll call you Chu, it's easier to remember than a name that's so long." She flashed a rather wry smile as though a little guilty and finding it difficult to remember names but she did struggle to remember so many ad it was easier to recall nicknames, she would always stand by that.
"Oh! And where did you get that lovely bow?" She added.

Chu thought about her first question for a moment. "Well...he was there when I had come out of my basket. So he's pretty much been with me my entire life." That was the best way she could explain it. Of course it was all true. Mingan had always been there it seemed to her.
She nodded her head and raised an eyebrow slightly. "Well, I doubt my name is as long as some other Soquili. There's a stallion that lives with my two legger who's name is extremely long....but he just goes by Cadaver which is the last part of his name."
As Yei mentioned her bow, she blushed lightly. Though it was hard to see under her dark coat. Looking up slightly, she smiled. "It got it from my two legger who had gotten it for me. My mate, Hok'ee, has a few in his hair. Though I don't know why he got so many." She giggled as she thought about Hok'ee and all the rainbow colored bows that he had in his mane and tail.

A pang went through her as Chu spoke of her mate and it took a few moments for the mare to recover. It seemed that every female she had met was attached and very happy with who they had, it made her wonder what was wrong with her when no male was inclined towards her. Paramekia had put it down to her rather 'flighty' personality, it wans't that she was afraid to commit but her social butterfly tendencies might have made a male feel threatened.
She sighed a little and then cleared her throat, there was no use dwelling on it.
"It's really nice that you had a companion like that so quickly, he must have been a wonderful playmate when you were younger." She murmured softly, flicking her lazy ear a little once more. In ways she was a little envious of the company the mare kept but perhaps she wa simply a late bloomer!
"Although it's a shame my two-legger didn't have as much taste as yours, he gave me a necklace which is lovely but a bow would have been equally nice as well." She said with a giggle before arching a brow, "Perhaps men just aren't very good at detecting what a girl really wants."

Chu smiled lightly, but she sensed something more from this mare. Tilting her head slightly, she smiled. "You should meet Cadaver....he's a little off but I'm sure you could warm him up to you if you tried." She giggled and winked at Yei for a moment.
Nodding her head a bit, she smiled more. "It was. He was always around so I was never lonely. But as of late since I've grown he sometimes goes off and does his own thing."
Raising an eyebrow slightly, she looked at Yei curiously. Almost every Soquili she'd met had had a female two legger, not a male one. It made her curious as to what a male two legger was truely like. "Oh, your two legger is male? Interesting. All the Soquili I've met normally have female two leggers. But perhaps it is true that males don't have much taste in what would look pretty."

"Mhm...the lions call him Achak, he hides on the slopes. For some reason he does not appreciate the company of many of his fellow people. I can understand why though, those people attacked us Soquili not so long ago." She murmured softly, her face clouding over as though she was troubled by something for a time - the events surrounding the village were not exactly pleasurable ones.
"Even so, he is a very good protectorate, he takes care of us all when he needs to." She gave a nod as the expression disappeared and instead, she gave a very small, fond smile. She really did love her two legger, ever since he had helped her get better she had always stuck by him even if the stallions were considerably more independant. "If it helps, he certainly knows what food I like!"
After a few moments though, her fond expression did turn into a inquisitive one. It confused her somewhat as to why Chu had winked when she spoke of her male friend, then again, this particular mare was always suspicious of such atstaements...after all, she had heard something similar quite frequently and all it had resulted in was her making them more comfortable during social situations - then the wind females had swooped in.
"I would love to meet Cadaver although I would hold little belief in my ability to change his ways, even remotely, if I were you." She mused, a teasing smile appearing at last.

Chu nodded her head and smiled lightly. "He kind of sounds like Atsila. She stays up near the mountains, hidden away from the Kawani village. Though for a different reason that your's does."
She smirked lightly and clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth a few times. "Oh, I'm sure you could change him a little. He needs a slight personality perk if you will..."
