Birds flew over head making her a little cautious. She stopped and looked about. Could something be around close? She shook her head and walked a bit closely towards the trees. They were good for shelter from most creatures. Though, she couldn't see very well in the dark, not like most night creatures. She could see pretty well.
She stood under the tree she walked over too. She hadn't noticed anything around her yet. She kept looking towards the far end of the clearing where the birds had come from.

There was some rustling noise coming from a tall and large patch of grass. The nearby birds were frightened and took flight, exposing a tan colored hump rising over the grass. It sturred and shook, trying to move out into the open. Silent cries could be heard as it struggled to be free from the grassy patch.

Jeevita's ears twitched alittle as she heard slight noises apart from the birds. She started walking closer to where the noises were coming from. Head lowered as she walked closer.
Finally, in view she saw something tan. It was tan grass, no... Something different the grass. Certainly it looked like grass. She stopped and looked at it curiously. What was it? It was hard to tell from the grass, but it was moving and making noises.
It finally moved away from the grass into smaller grass. What the? It moved? But now she could see exactly what it was. It was a Soquili basket. But what was it doing out here? She walked up to it and smelled it. "Well, I wonder where your parents are?" She asked at the basket, knowing she'd only get some noise from it. She looked up seeing no one in sight. Perhaps they left it, on accident of course. She steped over the basket slightly. Her left ear went down as she looked about.

The basket froze, a bit afraid of the stranger hovering over it. It waited for a few moments before squealing and trying to hop away. To no avail, it didn't go far, but only 6 feet away. A few butterflies few towards the soquili basket and took a rest on top of it. Annoyed by the little insects, the tiny basket shook with all its might. Poor butterflies didn't know what happened, they were sent into the air by a violent tremor. Snorting, the basket slowly turned around to face the female soquili from before and hiccuped.

Jeevita watched and lifted up her foot so the basket wouldn't run into her. Interesting. She watched it hop away a few feet then stop. It turned around as if it was looking at her. She kept looking at the basket. "Interesting little one, aren't you?" She said taking a step towards the basket.
All the thought was on that basket. She couldn't just leave it out here. It could get hurt. It looked like who ever it belong to wasn't there anymore. Or didn't want to interfear with this introduction. She kept her gaze on that basket. "I won't hurt you" She said in a calm soothing voice.

The quiet basket slowly rocked side to side, listening to the mare's soft voice. It began moving towards her, ever so slowly. Hesitating, deciding if it can trust her. The curious basket moved even closer until it was right underneath her. Not afraid of the mare, it rubbed up against her leg and softly cooed.

Shocked at first, Jeevita looked down now at the basket that was rubbing on her legg. This got more interesting by the moment. It seemed that instead of her adopting it, it adopted her. She gave a small smile. She had to get the basket away from the open. There was a tree not so far, that they could rest under until the morning. It would be save for everyone.
She went down and nuzzled the basket. "It'll be ok, I'll take care of you." She said in a soothing voice again. Even if she didn't want to take care of it, it looked like she was stuck. She smiled. She was now a mother. Well, foster mother. She nuzzled it towards the tree trying to get it to move in that way.

Squealing with a bit of delight, the basket gave enough energy to bounce towards the tree. Stopping every 5 seconds, making sure its foster mother was close behind. When it got close to the tree, it bounced around it a few times before resting in front of the adoptive mare.

Jeevita followed slowly looking around watching her suroundings. She had to be careful now. She didn't want this little one to loose another parent. If infact, this little one did loose it's parents at all. She stopped next to the tree and watched the basket find it's spot and stopped. She laid down next to it. Her wing stretched over it hiding the basket from the world. Stretching her other wing the same way to make it look like she was just really exhoasted instead of hiding something.
She put her head on her feet watching the world around her making sure no one was going to sneak up on her. She kept her eyes pilled open and ears up listening to everything. Finally she driffed to a light sleep, still hearing everything around her.
