Jade's 4th birthday party was this Saturday, and was actually ON her birthday, which rarely happens! It was supposed to be about a 2 hour party, but everybody in Jason's family (about 30 people total) stayed to hang out until bedtime, so it wound up being about an 8 hour party! The kids all got dirtier than I'd ever seen them before, with black hands and feet and knees and black smudges on their faces, and sand and styrofoam in their hair! (Good thing for baths.)

Her cake was exactly as she requested: vanilla cake, with her on it, and J-A-D-E on it, and pink and purple.

We'll have another party this weekend at our house for my friends and family up here.

Also this weekend was a second birthday party of one of her cousins who was born in May a year after her. I have tons of pictures from both parties but had to be selective about what to resize and upload, plus I'm sleepy! wink

Other big news is that on Friday night, which happened to be the exact day of my 10-year anniversary of my horrific life changing head on collision in a mustang, Jason goes and buys this!

I love the outside, but I'm not crazy about the interior (dual-colored black and red) because the red reminds me of blood, and the seat hurts my back, but the backseats feel better because they're higher, and the dash is really high and hard to see over, and there are so many hard protruding parts near the dash that I feel will hurt if I hit my head on... But I'm glad he got a 2005 mustang... Mustangs are him. He has 2 old mustangs (he's going to sell one) and his name has always been jmustang and he's always had mustang stuff ever since I've known him. The car is really growing on me though, and I love all the awestruck looks we get on the road from people who appreciate mustangs. 3nodding

Another big deal about getting this mustang was that it meant I had to drive our other car back from Albuquerque, which I'd never ever done in my life! I was so nervous I was shaking and felt sick, but my small driving in town these last few months paid off and I did well, and everything was fine. sweatdrop My parents were so proud that I drove that stretch!

Well, I guess I have to say Happy Birthday to Jade first, but I really want to talk about the car! I love mustangs!!! My first car was a 79 mustang. But that was nothing compared to Jason stang!! He is very lucky in my eyes. Although I'm more partial to Ford trucks. I would live to have one of the new F150's.

Ohmygosh! We saw one of those new F150's at the dealership and they're HUGE!!! I couldn't believe it was a car and not a.. dinosaur!

We also saw a couple of the Ford GT's in the showroom, I was drooling over those. (They look like lamborghinis!)

Jason has a 66 and a 68, both white. The 68 was his first car, so it's close to his heart, but the 66 runs! Jason's dad was driving the 68 years ago and a spindle broke off and the fender broke, and he's never gotten it fixed, but now that people are interested in buying his 66, he's thinking of fixing up the 68 (which he also likes more because it looks more like a muscle car while the 66 looks more classic... I prefer the 66, but what does that matter?

The new mustang has some great features though. 6-disc in dash cd changer that plays MP3's, 8-speaker stereo (sounds much better than my Honda which also has a decent stereo), a front passenger airbag that turns off if it detects less than 55 pounds in the seat, a little glow-in-the-dark pull tag in the trunk that has a hilarious diagram on it that essentially tells you how to flee out the trunk if you're trapped xd , and windows that slide down slightly when you open the door and seal back up after you close it. Oh, bucket seats and leather interior.. which makes me say I'm glad I've been wearing capris lately and not shorts!

I'm glad you like mustangs, barbie! I was remembering yesterday that we had another mustang fanatic on this couch.. tangodanser. She had a mustang and listed "throaty mustangs" as her favorite sound on one of those "getting to know you" quizzes. I'm sad that I didn't get to surprise her with it here, but I know she sees and appreciates his purchase nonetheless. heart

I know they are "big" aren't they. It's a shame my x is in utah. He was here for 3 months back in October fixing his cousin's 65 mustang. Did a complete restore for her. It was beautiful when he finished. Worked from the frame on up. Even did a complete rebuild on the engine and tranny. (He's good, but don't tell him I said that) And tell Jason to watch out for a passenger. You know tango will want a ride now and then...

Jade LOVES little boys!! Ever since she was a baby, she's always watching the boys! I'm excited to meet you both too, and to see your beautiful wedding in action! I'm glad it will be a weekend event with more time to relax and chat! Mine went too quickly!

Here are two more Jason took yesterday! In the first you can kind of see the view of pine trees behind our house, and some of the balconies on the adjoining townhouses.

oh, that's a sexy car! i have to admit to being a bit of a petrol head, i really like cars, i think i should have been a mechanic. that mustang is very nice though, reminds me of Eleanor on the fast and the furious.
looks like Jade had a fab birthday, they're so much fun at that age, she's old enough to get really excited about them now, wish i still felt that way! i'm not jumping up and down at the prospect of being 34 in 7 weeks evil
