~Christopher: 0~

It had been a week since Christopher arrived on the island. So far he had met some interesting individuals and befriended some really great people. Some of them already felt a little like a form of extended family. However, outside of that, things were rather boring. If he weren't treking in the jungle or hanging out with someone, everything just felt empty.

'I'll have to find some way to correct that in future,' Christopher noted to himself. 'Maybe start up a little film club. Branwan and a few others seemed interested in the notion at least. Give us something to do.'

Christopher once again left his duplex and just walked around aimlessly for a while. It was always refreshing to say the least. Soon enough, he found himself on the beach yet again, just walking along the side of the water. That's when he noticed a form in the distance by the beach bar.

"Who could that be..." Christopher muttered to himself as he approached.

~Glacus Masculli 0%~

Glacus kicked the sand, “I H.A.T.E. ships! “Every single time I get on one they lose my luggage!!!” This “cruise” that he was given to lifeguard at this island was a little awkward, he did check it out before hand, and found it to be legitimate. It was mostly empty, save him and the crew, which allowed him to get a lot done.

When this one pulled out of its “port”, which turned out to be a sandbar that was currently washing out to sea, it took with it most his clothing, as well as his cell phone. He only had a few things like his CDs, and his laptop, his ipod, and a few books, which could last him a while, But he needed the rest of his stuff.
He figured he would tell the management at the pool that he had contacted earlier, and ask for a telephone.

And hopefully it would be sorted out then, he broke out of this heated reverie as he saw something. He couldn't really make it out, a person maybe? Yes, definitely a person. Glacus called out to it "Hey!!!" No response was heard.

As Christopher got closer, he let out a sigh. This person seemed to be a new arrival and as such, probably didn't have a clue to what was going on.

'Lucky me...' Christopher thought sarcastically. 'I get the responsibility to break the news to this one. I hope I can do this right... Please, don't let me f**k this one up.'

Christopher was now only a few feet from the new arrival and greeted, "Hello. I am Christopher. And you would be...?"

The Figure quickly came into view, it was a man, and that man then came very close to Glacus and politely introduced himself.
"Hello. I am Christopher. And you would be...?"
“My Name Is Glacus, my friends call me Glock.”
Glacus returned. The guy smiled, but he looked liked somewhat… anxious about something, “Do you know where the pool is?” Glacus ventured, he really needed to go to the manager’s office.

"Awwwwwwwww hell..." Christopher instantly spat out of his mouth. "I think you better sit down Glacus, as I have one hell of a story to tell you."

Christopher pointed toward a stool at the bar. He took in a deep breath before he had a seat himself. While he took the news well when Branwan told him, Chris was also aware he was not like any other of the islanders as this kind of news could easily crush someone. He didn't like the idea of being the harbinger of bad news but he had face facts. It would have only been so long before he would have to let someone in on the truth so he might as well get in some practice now.

Christopher ran his hands down his face showing some distress, not sure how to begin. After a moment, he gathered his composure. "Ok, before we begin, I have to ask you... One, would you like a drink? And two, how did you end up here?"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 09, 2006 7:01 pm

“Do I want Drink? No, I don't drink, thank you and I hope to never start, no offense intended.”Why didn’t he just answer my question instead of dragging me to a bar? Glacus thought, what is he trying to say?

“I responded to a help wanted add posted by the owner of Ferrell Mab’s Resort. Dr. Moreau I think the name was? Anyway I’m taking a job as the lifeguard to the pool. My ship just arrived and it took most of my stuff with it. Which reminds me is there a phone in here? I promised my sister I would call her tonight.”
Hearing this seemed to deflate Chris, and he began to reply.

"Good for you," Christopher applauded Glacus. "I don't drink either. I just wanted to know if you did so that I could get you one as what I'm about to tell you... it's going to be pretty rough."

Christopher cleared his throat, clenching his hands together in a tense manner. "You see... You were brought here under false pretenses. All the islanders have been. There are no phones or any way to contact the outside world. You are trapped here. The island is run by a crazed a*****e named Moreau. A little chickenshit craven if I ever met one. He brings people here and experiments on them, turning them into animal/human hybrids or just an animal who can talk..."

He was sure he could feel Glacus's heart sinking just as Christopher's was doing right now. Tears formed in Chris's eyes and he wiped them away. He felt terrible for Glacus. He'd never get to see his family or his sister ever again. At that moment, Christopher's rage was channelled instantly. It had been building up all this week until he couldn't take it anymore. His hatred for Moreau had been inforced to the maximum and it was time to let out his pent up frustrations. He pulled his knife from the sheath and proceeding to stab the bar surface repeatedly.

"That motherf**ker I hate him!" Christopher cursed. "I'm getting so sick of his bulls**t!! I don't care what he does to me... but I can't stand seeing others brought here and getting trapped like this. That f**king b*****d will pay one day! I swear it..."

Glacus’s heart just skipped a beat… And his whole world crashed to the ground. He never should have left his home, all of his dreams everything he’d ever worked for was gone, forever. Why hadn’t he just listened to Augusta? He wasn’t going to cry, he got himself into he would get himself out of it…somehow, “But, what about… my family when I don’t call... they’ll think I died. And what do you mean he turns you into an animal/human hybrid? I’ve taken courses on human physiology, that’s not possible…is it? ” His heart was racing, he could almost feel his heart bumping into his cross.

"You have to believe me," Christopher tried to reason. "I swear it to be the truth. I've met a few people already who have began their changes. Two of them being teenagers out of middle school. One some kind of bird and the other some type of canine. He does it through the injections they give you. It's not a vacination like they tell you... Let me show you..."

Christopher showed Glacus the recent syringe track on his arm. "They shot me up in my sleep. The first one is to prepare your body for the changes. The second shot is what starts the actual physical changes. I'm due at anytime today to change. I don't know when but I can guarantee if you stick around me, you'll see it happen."

“That must be what they meant by monthly vaccination plan.” Glacus’s sorrow was building into rage.

“Why would on earth would he want me he want me here??? I’ll never get to Rome, I’ll never see another member of my family.”

He remembered he still had the photograph of his entire family on his mother’s side. He took it out and just stared at it,

“Servatis a Pereculum, Servatis a Maleficum.” He said finally breaking the silence.

Christopher's face quivered as tears ran down his face. He was ashamed of himself for handling the situation like he did. This was the wrong way to go about it. But what could he do? He had no experience with this kind of predictament. But it was no excuse either way. He felt like a moron for how he communicated it to Glacus.

"I'm sorry..." Christopher whimpered. "I didn't mean to break it to you like that. I am really sorry. I just... never had to tell anyone before until now. I've only had to deal with others who have been longer than I. I took it well but I'm not like most people. The idea doesn't bother me, becoming something else... especially if it's what I hope it is. But to have your life surrounding you torn away... it's horrible and I know it. I feel so bad for everyone here..."

Christopher buried his face in his arms and weeped. It was a lament intended for all those stuck here. However, when Christopher outstretched his hands, he noticed a pain in his fingertips. He looked up from his arm-made cradle and let out a gasp of awe. Blood was seeping from the tips of his fingers as his nails pushed out and darkened into claws.

Glacus snapped out of whatever delusion he was facing, as all of Christopher’s fingernails suddenly burst open, gushing out at an alarming rate. Glacus saw what looked like claws? Coming out but he knew he had to stop the flow quickly, he ripped off his shirt, and created a makeshift tourniquet. As Glacus went to put the shirt on his fingers the was gone. “What the…?” he stammered “What’s happening to you?”

Christopher held his hands up to his face, watching in astonishment, almost not believing what he was seeing. "Can it be...?"

Seeing and feeling the changes almost didn't make it real for him, even when he could see the beginnings of pawpads in his palms. No way it could be happening. From what he understood, Moreau didn't cater to what someone's personality and favorite animal was. He'd also had dreams like this too, that felt so real until he woke up. He must just be dreaming.

That thought was soon corrected when a wave of pain rushed through his body, making him scream and howl out in agony. His face felt like it was collapsing out of its former shape and pushing out slightly. His ears felt like they were being tugged on, pulled upward. Christopher could also feel the hairs, the fur, pushing out of every pore and tiny opening in his skin. It itched horribly. He scratched at his face, the sensation becoming too unbearable.

The worst part however was his teeth. They were growing and pushing out further. Blood rushed from his gums and down his throat. He coughed up a couple little puddles forming in the back of his mouth. He clenched his hands together as the pain of the elongation in his teeth was immense. But the clenching of his fists proved to only add to his torment as his forming claws dug into his slightly formed pawpads. He pulled his claws out and gripped his hands to his chest, whimpering and crying out. The fur spread across his chest and it burned. The itching sensation increased by tenfold. As he let out his laments of pain, a song ran through Chris's mind, one of the composed pieces, The Hellbound Heart, from the film Hellraiser. It wasn't because he felt damnation but the song expressed a pain and sorrow that seemed to counteract his current experience.

By the time the changes had stopped, Christopher was curled into a fetal position, a quivering wreck. This was unlike anything he had experienced in his dreams. It really did happen. After the changes had settled, Chris was left with an elongated face, hinting at the formation of a muzzle, his nose had already turned a leathery black, fur enveloped his face and chest, his ears had become pointed, and his hands were now clawed and he had pawpads. His soul patch goatee remained somehow.

Christopher gazed up to a frightened Glacus, a sullen look in Chris's eyes. He tried to speak but he could only let out a few whimpers. He was too sore... He laid his head back to the ground, shivering all over.

Blo.od was everywhere, it came from Chris’s mouth, fingers and his palms, and he was curled up in a submissive and fetal postion. Glacus was at a loss, he was trained in treating many different ailments, but he wasn’t even sure he knew what he was dealing with. Lying on the Glacus knew he was definitely not okay, he looked like he hadn’t shaved in years, and that he had hair implantations everywhere. His ears as though some one hand yanked them into some kind of weird elf postion, he had a face that was elongated beyond what any one should look like. His teeth were not even remotely human the resembled that of a dog or a… wolf?
But Glacus asked him, “Are you okay? Can you hear me?” It was vital to make sure he was still cognizant, before he called for help, which would be near impossible considering he didn’t know anything about this island.
He was whimpering so he was conscious, but was that necessarily a good sign?
