Its true. I don't. Where I live in California, its usually too hot to wear frills and lace, but I wish I could. And besides that, I'm fairly tall for a girl (5feet and 8inches), and I'm.. I guess.. voloptuous, you would say. I wouldn't be able to pull off the Loli look, since I'm told I look like a full grown adult (when my hair isn't blue that is whee ). I tried once, with this velvet victorian dress that had a corset laced collar, but I looked like I was going to a funeral for my desceased husband of something. ::sigh:: neutral

[G.H.O.S.T] Its true. ::sigh:: neutral well just dont wear huge platforms!^_^ wear flat ballet slippers that lace up with no socks. and for the skirt just add more fluff to the loli skirt and it will make you appear shorter ( i think) for the top have something showing your shoulders like the g-lol shirt that gaia has. not the dollie one the one that your avvi is wearing if its too hot for you to wear it then have short sleeved shirts and (not really short but a few inches above the knees) skirts and if you add a really puffy petticoat it might make you look shorter. (if not just use a normal petticoat) i have a velvet victorian dress (sorta) and dont worry its not just you...it looked like i was going to a funeral too. just stay away from long slimming dresses. and velvet usually tends to make alot of people look like their going to a funeral....well it did more me and you. i only own one loli skirt (well it sure looks loli..i got it from target blaugh ) so i dont have that big a wardrobe either wow this turned out way long i hope it was helpful blaugh theres a solution for everyone every size that truely wants to do this!

I really don't own anything REALLY lolita, but I have numerous Items that could be considered Lolita. ( A skirt I'm making from scratch and an altered one fomr Wal*Mart xD a cute jacket and a shirt with corsetting on the back + mary janes. )
Hm. Being tall..I dunno. I'm only 5' 3'' so I don't know what it's like to be our height. Sorry. Ballet Slippers are a good idea and you can find them online or in thrift stores. ( Yay for Goodwill! xD )
Velvet isn't a good thing to wear unless you live somewhere where it gets very cold in the winter, like me. I live in Michigan so California is alien to me.
I don't think this really helped, but I needed someting to post .>>'' Hope you enjoyed my nonsense!

I live in Southern CA and I wear Loli a lot. I guess I have become used to the heat. Wear cotton instead of heavy fabrics or save them for the winter. I'm tall too 5'7 if you dont mind being taller then everyone else wear platforms or just wear flat Mary Janes ( ^_^ I wear both!) but always wear socks even though they are a tad warm (Loli never wear no socks) Short sleeves are good (o.o but I never wear them) Carry around cool water in the summer!

I too live in Califorina (Southern, in Tustin, it's near the beach) I do not own many loli items, I need to save up some money for the outfits
Well, I wear black clothing alot, and the heat doesn't bother me at all But I hardly wear some of my loli dresses, because they are way to formal for school
Haha, I am short, five foot two ^_^ But I'm fourteen, I'm sad, I'm short I hate being pre-mature!
Oh, what part of Califorina do you live in?

This is exactly where all my questions stem from. I think it unfair (among other things) to only allow people in a group based on sewing or financial limitations that not all may have.

I live in Los Angeles. Feh. I suppose my real problem is that is just doesnt work for me ;-;. I mean, it doesn't... look.. right, I guess. Well that and clothing for people of my "stature" is super expensive to buy OR make. I guess I gotta stick with designing it, not wearing it.

I have a couple of basic black things I dont really wear that I'm planning on revamping. (I posted a thread about it in the Designing/Costumes (I think) subforum.) One skirt is up there and I have a black dress somewhere I cant find. Fu. u_u

i'm not trying to be mean or anything like that, but i am just interested in where you are wanting this thread to go? Which direction? What type of discussion/conversation? It seems that you havn't asked any questions...perhaps if there is a question you have, you should ask in this thread or in the FAQ ^^
This thread might get moved, i'm not sure atm as i'm quite stuck on what to do with it lol...

A nice purse or parasol, you know? Or even just a casual look, maybe? A light cutsew or blouse? If you love loli, there are normally a lot of ways to bring it into your life without having to wear a full on outfit. heart
