"Oh yes, I can certainly see why you're the heart throb of your herd." Yei rolled her eyes as she sauntered along, keeping up with the stallion at ease despite the rather striking difference in height. It seemed that due to his robes he often preferred to walk at a slower pace and thus she never had to struggle, in ways it was quite nice.

"Tall, dark, handsome and with a serious attitude problem." She continued wistfully, only raising an eye as he cast a side long and otherwise unappreciative glance towards the young mare who became aware that she was very quickly losing his favour. This was quite unusual as Paramekia had considerable patience.

"If I desired to be belittled I would have chosen to clash with a mare that I otherwise have little concern for." He pointed out flatly, turning his gaze back to the pathway a head as his tail flicked idly against his hindquarters. If he was honest he had had quite enough bickering and back chat from mares to do him a good few days, even when he was courteous he had it chucked back in his face.

...And his mother wondered why he preferred being the alpha and why he preferred his mares silent.

"If you wish to persist, then leave." He finished in the same tone, although by now he had come to a halt at the river and was admiring his reflection thoughtfully. Ah yes, he rather enjoyed making the mare feel guilty even for the smallest things but at least now she was holding her tongue for the time being...

No. Good Lord, no; this was not what Elizabeth needed to see. The unicron mare stood on the bank of the river, staring incredulously upstream at what had to be a hideous apparation, some sort of mental flip that was the product of a sleep-deprived mind or the eating of some sort of hallucenigenic plant.

Whatever it was, she most certainly could not be seeing that sneering, smug, superiority-complex-possesing stallion from the other day; that would be just too cruel.

And yet there he was, standing and oogling his own reflection like a girl going to a party.

"Please tell me I'm imagining this..." Muttering under her breath, Elizabeth stared down at the stallion, noticing that he had a mare with him this time. Poor girl, what had she done to warrant being stuck with him?
PostPosted: Sat Sep 09, 2006 3:24 pm

He wasn't oogling and would have been mildly offended if the unicorn had stated as such but having remained unaware of her presence up until this point, it took a shift in Yei's stand to alert him to the fact that there was someone nearby. And thus, lifting his amber gaze, he allowed it to slowly trail across the surroundings until it at last, fixed itself upon the clothed unicorn who had otherwise tossed his attempts to be polite back in his face...

"I thought you were supposed to attract pleasant company." He pointed out cooly as he flicked his gaze briefly towards Yei who arched a brow enquiringly - he evidently made it quite clear that he knew this mare and certainly didn't appreciate her company.

"I usually do. Why, what's wrong with her?" The fiery mare enquired, stepping forward slightly and bending her head down so that she could see beneath the tall stallion. Bar the fact that she was wearing clothes she seemed to look fairly nice and approachable.

"She has even less manners than you." He stated, matter-of-fact as he failed to hide the negativity in his voice although this didn't really prevent Yei from being the social butterfly that she was...

"Hello!" She whickered merrily as she flahed an equine smile towards the unicorn while Paramekia could only raise his eyes skyward in unspoken exasperation.

So much for the dreaming idea.

However, Elizabeth believed in keeping her dignity and her manners, and as she had no quarrel with the mare keeping both was easier than it might otherwise be. Raising her head, she gave the red mare a smile and dipped her head politely. "Hello and good afternoon to you, Ma'am; I hope that everything is well with you and your...companion."

Through a herculanean effort, she managed to keep any hint of a deroggatory tone out of her voice, even at the mention of that stallion. For all she knew, the mare might like him...or be related to him...or something like that.

Oh. Oooh!

Yei glanced between the two and flashed an inquisitive smile towards Paramekia who seemed to have decided that the best way to handle the situation was to pretend the mare wasn't there. This wouldn't stop Yei from socialising however and she rather unceremoniously dipped under his head (forcing him to lift his chin slightly) and made her way towards the mare.

"Oh, everything's peachy!" She replied with a surprising amount of enthusiasm although had she a spear, she could have cut the tension in the air with ease. What in the name of goodness had these two done to one another that had resulted in this?

Gossip. Gossip!

"And yourself?" She enquired before shifting her gaze towards Paramekia and raising a brow, for someone with manners he was certainly being rather rude at the moment. "Aren't you going to say hello?" She added in an almost commanding tone.

"Afternoon." The stallion replied flatly, without even remotely turning his head. Even his form remained tense and his gaze hard as he knew by the tone of voice that the Unicorn had...that the moment he even spoke more than one word she would attack again and he really was not in the mood - he truly felt as though he may just cause puncture wounds with his horns if she did!

Elizabeth blinked a bit at the mare, uncertain as to exactly what was going on; obviously she, at least, wasn't obnoxious to the degree that her male companion was. "Everything is going well with me, also..it's a nice day to be out and about, really."

After giving the mare another nod she turned her head towards Para, giving him the briefest of head jerks in response to his rather forced sounding greeting. "Afternoon to you as well."

Having done her duty on that front, though, she hastily turned her attention back to the mare. There was no reason to maintain unnecessary contact with the stallion, but it could be refreshing to talk to another mare for once.

Yei was certainly not obnoxious and although she may not know when to hold her tongue she did know how to at least relieve some tension. Needless to say, the fact that the pair had greeted one another as a start but there was something that wasn't quite adding up - what had this mare done or what had he said?

...Was he being condescending again?

"You're right, it is a nice day although a little warm if you live in the mountains...my coat's rather thick." She confessed before releasing a chuckle. She soon canted her head to the side though ahd observed the young mare thoughtfully - well at least she didn't have wings because then they just would not have gotten along.

"Soo...I take it you've both met then?" She said finally as she glanced towards Paramekia who hadn't shifted his position despite the fact that his stance looked rather uncomfortable. "I'm Yei Umeko, but everyone calls me Yei...and you are?"

Smiling a little more easiliy, Elizabeth gave Yei a shrug. "Well, I've never been in the mountains myself, so I can't say I understand...but I can sympathize on being overly warm. I'm sure that you can probably appreciate where I'm coming from on that." With a rueful little laugh, she pawed at her heavy gown with one hoof; the thick fabric rustled slightly, but didn't move much. "Heat is never my friend in large doses."

Her mouth tightened a bit at the next comment Yei uttered, but so far she was remarkably pleased with her behavior around the stallion. "You could say that we've met, I suppose...it was a rather brief meeting, and barely worth noting." Barely worth noting indeed. "But it's certainly a pleasure to meet you, Miss Yei...my name is Elizabeth Swann, but you may call me Elizabeth."

"If you're warm you could always take the wierd stuff off you know." She pointed out thoughtfully, giving a nod as she collected Elizabeth's name into her mind and stored it for later use. If there was anything she was good at, it was remembering names but her comment did cause Paramekia's mouth to twitch very slightly as he contained the urg to smile at the innuendo involved - the naivity of the soquili from this area did amuse him so.

"This grumpy boy is Paramekia, but you already knew that I suppose." She added before releasing a chuckle and flicking her long mane from her eyes. She even stole a glance towards the stallion who had shifted his weight and had turned his gaze towards the pair upon hearing his name, "Came from the mists, nearly scared the living daylights out of me!" She gave another laugh before allowing her lazy ear to droop, flopping to the left as though she were a donkey.

"Still, saved my life don'tcha know." She chimed at last.

Elizabeth found herself staring at Yei with something akin to incredulousness at the suggestion that she strip; maybe some Soquili...Yei included, obviously, were into that sort of...er, personal freedom, but Elizabeth Swann was not a performance artist, thank you kindly. However, since Yei was obviously not trying to be insulting, she managed to let the comment pass. However, her eyes darted to Paramekia in time to catch the mouth twitch, and then her own twitched for an entirely different reason. Lech.

However, she returned her attention, a bit more strongly, to Yei after that. "Paramekia, huh? No, I can't say that we ever made it around to exchanging names last time...but him coming out of the mists unexpectedly doesn't surprise me much. But I can't follow the life-saving comment..." Glancing from Yei to Para and back again, she arched one brow curiously. Somehow he seemed hardly knight in shining armor material.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 09, 2006 5:37 pm

No, not many could but as Elizabeth struggled to understand the statement that Yei had made, Paramekia took the opportunity to give a slight nod and to close his eyes. If he kept them shut then none could accuse him of 'leching' or otherwise gazing at them in terms that they would deem insulting for one reason or another.

Nay - today he would allow his fiery guide to do the socialising for him and perhaps afterwards, those who had insulted him would swallow their tongue, this mare included.

"Well, now you know his name!" She smiled a little as it wasn't the first time she'd heard people had struggled to become aware of his name. In fatc, it had taken Cloud a good few hours to get it out of him and yet the poor stalion had introduced himself immediately to the regal 'elder' stallion who was the oldest of the trio.

"Although I can't see how you would find it difficult to see how he could save a life." Turning to glance at the tall stallion she arched a brow. Still remaining in a stoic and somewhat uncomfortable position, the male had shut his eyes and was no longer giving any indication of being aware of their conversation bar his perked ears.

"Help can come from some of the most unlikely sources you know..."

"Well, I can grant you that one...even brigands and pirates and the like are theoretically capable of doing a decent service once in a while, I suppose." Elizabeth's tone was honey sweet; maybe it wasn't so difficult of a comparison after all.

"So, is that why the two of you travel around together, because he saved your life? That is, if it's not something you don't wish to talk about." Now that Paramekia was acting like a statue, it was much easier to have what had the potential to be a very pleasant conversation. "Or is this just a random occassion, like an anniversary celebration or some such thing?"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 10, 2006 7:14 am

"Not really, usually he travels alone and so do I." Yei released a chuckle and canted her head as though she was aware that one or two soquili may jump to that conclusion when they discovered that the natural antagonist could actually be heroic. In fact, even Cloud had assumed that the mare had been forced to repay the stallion in the form of becoming his consort but that wasn't the case - all he had asked for was shelter.

"We were just heading the same way, it seemed better to travel with company...you know?" She enquired curiously as her lazy ear gave a twitch. Her right ear soon swivelled round to listen to the low whistle coming out of the stallion's mouth behind her - well, whatever entertained him she supposed.

"I don't think he has it in him to force his company upon someone who didn't wnat it." She mused thoughtfully.

One of Elizabeth's ears twitched slightly at Yei's last comment, and she had to all but bite her tongue to keep from making some sort of appropriate remark. After all, she had gotten the chance to see what an unpleasant character Para could be, and consequently she had no doubt that he, if he was so inclined, would force his prescence on someone who didn't want it. In fact, he'd probably enjoy doing such!

However, a lady didn't gossip, especially not when she was talking to someone who was fond of the subject of her distaste. Yei could keep her ideal, and Elizabeth herself would keep her...well, lack thereof.

Still, Yei had managed to provide a suitable lead-in for non-Para conversation, and Liz all but jumped at it. "Well, I can't say that I've ever really been going anywhere in particular, so I'm not sure that I can offer any true opinion on the merit of traveling with company. Still, I can imagine that pleasant conversation would make the time go faster." If Para was capable of pleasant conversation, which she firmly doubted.
