"I hate Aard~"
Such a sweet little voice, Kilah had. And she looked perfectly innocent sitting there in the garden just outside the mansion...if you didn't notice her ripping up some sunflower that had just grown in the most unfortunate of places, and discarded the fact her little song had been so far about the murder of her 'mortal enemy'.
Rippp. With the flower long dead, she dropped it and wiped her hands on the grass. Pollen. Ew. Looking nothing more then disgusting, she got to her feet and the oh-so-lovely tune came to a hault. "God damn, this place is so boring."

Sitting in the grass not too far away, there was a woman and a child. The child, with a stange black tuff of hair, was simpely looking at everything with immence curiousity.
Zero smilled a little, unaware of the girl, or her lovely little song.
"Tori, look, there's a butterfly..."
"Ahhh ?" The little quail boy perked to look at it.

It was annoying, to say the last, to not have the company of her 'eye dog'. Even if he was a griffon, and far from a dog. Sure, she had little trouble getting around most of the time, but normally there were voices.
Voices she could follow. This time it was just some lady and some baby. Nothing interesting, at first at least. Getting to her feet, she only made it about five steps before bad luck struck her like lightning to the earth and the girl tripped.
Hardly a damaging fall, but the loud, "DAMN IT!", would certainly make it more noticeable.
Once her balance was restored, she was content with just sitting. "Hmph."

And the loud scream was all Zero needed to have her attention capted.
"What the hell ?"
....We don't have much better on this side, folks.
Tori glanced, then, at last, spotted Kilah. "Ahhh ?"
"Hm ?" Zero looked in the direction he had, and noticed her as well. "Everything's okay over there ?"

"Yeah, just great." Yup, great. Fell down. Everything's fine.
Psh, adults. What morons.
Still, curiousty could sometimes overcome even the great Kilah. Careful to stay at a fair distance (being able to judge so only by voices), the toddler wandered forward. When she stopped, her head tilted to the side as if it would help her hear better, figure something out.
"Hey lady, you got one of those babies Chaco just made?"

Zero was a little surprised, but nodded.
"Yeah, I do... Tori here. Quail, I've been told..."
So the other girl came from the same place that he did ?
"Ga ?"

Quail.
With just one word, her entire mood changed. Quail? Ah, so it WAS true! Chaco had provided her with another bird. How perfect. Obviously pleased, and grinning as if up to something, she asked in a tone much to sweet to be real, "What's the name?"
Yes, he sounded cute. He'd be--
Wait, he?
Chaco had made a boy?

"Tori." Zero answered, smilling a little. "I just was given him a few days ago."
...The girl sounded nice ! Slowly, he crawled to where he was right in front of her, and cooed a little. She had pretty feathers too !
"Be nice, Tori." Judging by the girl's eyes... starteling her might not be a good idea.

"Don't tell him that." Kilah said hurriedly. Psh. LAST thing she needed was another one of "her" birds being brought up as a goodie-goodie. Mind you, she liked Taryn and Lore, but it got old fast. Sometimes she just wanted to knock their halo's off, or at least knock them in the head.
Fortunately, she'd become accustom to this sort of thing. She was excepting this new arrival to grab her feathers--the last three babies had. When he didn't she was surprised, but pleased.
The "bird mafia" did infact have a male "member", but he wasn't actually a bird, so this was a first. "Hey, Tori."
Carefully, she kneeled down, holding her hand out. "Can I see your hand?" More of a demand then a request, really.

Zero blinked, and shook her head. "Uh... I guess." She turned so that she her valid eye would face them, trough, and simpely laid in the grass again.
Tori tilted his head a little. He was used to have people ask about his hair tuff, not his hands... Nothing special on his hands. But he put his tiny little hand in her's anyway, looking up at her with a curious glance.

"Mmkay, good." Seemed she approved of his exsistance, and released his hand. Good, no creepy fins like that Flitch kid. Those just bothered her. And don't even get her started on that kid with four hands--just, yuck. Of course, she rather liked Flitch just because he obeyed her every command.
"Mmkay, squirt, let's go through the stuff here. So listen up. You're a bird--which is good. Very good. You're in what we call the 'bird mafia', understand? That means anyone who messes with you, messes with us."

"Ey." Which was probably as close as an aknowledging that Tori could even manage at the moment, managing to sit and still look up at her. Mama said that too, so it was okay right ? Yeah, that was okay.
Thanksfully for Kilah, Zero seemed focused on her laptop now that someone else was watching Tori, not really listening but sending a glance every now and then to make sure everything was fine.

Kilah didn't seem to care much if Zero heard her or not, though. How much she spilled infront of adults depended. Like one of the protectors was too timid to say a cross word about anyone. Hell, Kilah could unleash her plans for world domination right infront of said protector and she wouldn't say a word.
Then there were the less nosey ones, or ones who just didn't care enough to listen. This lady seemed to fall into that category. "Anyway, I don't except you to do too much being as you're a baby. Ancelin is a baby, too. She's another bird."
Best go over them all while she was at it. "Now, you've got Ancelin, like I said. Then there's Taryn and Lorelei. They're too nice, but okay to have around, except Lore can't focus very long. And then Lyrus, you best get on his good side."
Ah, Lyrus. She wondered what he'd think about another boy being in their little group.
"Next to me, he's in charge, even though he's not a bird. He'll protect you good, though. He even stabbed a bad lady in the foot with glass one time for messing with us."

Ancelin ? ...Anny !
"Any !" He smilled, visibely pretty happy. Anny was awsome, and maybe he'lld get to see her again now.
But then when she told about Lyrus, the little quail's eyes whidened with facination. He had to be very strong to do that ! "Oooo..." Clearly, he was impressed. Very impressed.

"Yeah, Anny." Good. He was smart. Well, smart enough, babies in general were just stupid, and nothing would change her mind on that. "She's my cousin, kinda." She was obviously pleased with herself for putting Lyrus in the spotlight, making him seem so amazing.
But let's not forget who was in charge here. "Yeah, he's cool, strong and mean too. But I'm in charge, so remember that. He's only in control if I get killed. By like, you know, the man."
Let's see, what else was there? Hmm. "Yeah, I guess that's it. You don't spend to much time with Lyrus, though, because he needs to be with me mostly." Indeed Lyrus was high on her list. "Oh, and Mignon. She's not in the mafia, but she's cool too. Flitch and Junketsu, too."
Oh! "And Aard. You stay away from him. He's very bad. He'll hurt you. Like a monster."
