Who: Relm Arrowny, Rufus Shinra, & any/all of the Turks ((others may be welcome later, PM first to see. wink )) What: Meeting When: Sometime after A chance encounter & Workin Out with Leroy Where: A large park in the city (probably something like Central Park to NYC) She was escaping again. Relm knew that. What better way to escape than in the middle of a bustling city with her easel & her brush, doing what she did best? Of the family, only Rikku was comfortable in the city... & likely the Al Bhed was off with her "best friend" Naruto somewhere. Doing things most best friends don't without knowing better... The artist had to grin at the thought.
Still, the park was quite lovely & the bustle of the city almost overwhelmingly invigorating. Not that she particularly liked the city... but it gave her some privacy. And no one in her family could get on her for being holed up in her studio out here.
She sighed, finishing yet another painting & setting it up in her impromptu "Gallery" behind her. I wish something interesting would happen. Or at least there could be somebody worth painting...

The Boss, as he was used to being called by a certian man in his employment, had decided to get away from the buildings and take a walk in the park. It was not too terribly hot outside and the ever present white of his clothing was cool in the shade of the trees.
He had to get away from Reno bitching. The red head had not shut up since he'd told him that he would finish the piles of paperwork on his desk by that afternoon or Rufus was going to chain him to his chair.
Tseng was following Rufus, a dark shadow at the other's back, like he was prone to do. It was not often you did not find the two in company.

From the corner of her artist's eyes Relm caught sight of a striking contrast of white & black... two bodies that moved with such syncopation with each other that they could be art. Quickly she pushed aside other thoughts of ones who wore white & black. These two had much more class than they. That was evident from their movements alone.
Her brush was already capturing the snap of their legs as they walked before she even turned her head or raised her eyes to see who they were. Light green eyes flashed with artistic appreciation. Finally... something worth painting.
A warm smile touched the corners of her mouth as she painted. Perhaps this could be more interesting than just a painting's subject matter? What of the audios themselves. Relm was bursting to know more. But how to get their attention?
They were nearing. Soon they would be passing & she would have to follow them to learn anything. Somehow Relm knew that would both be very bad & very dangerous. The one in black reminded her vaguely of her father, the assassin Shadow. Not in looks, but in his professionalism. Following would be a very bad idea. Maybe the street artist/vendor approach? She was already set up for it.
"Beautiful day for a walk in the park, Gentlemen." Light green eyes smiled warmly as she gave a dainty curtsy. "Spare a moment for my art?" Relm made no attempt to hide the nearly finished new painting -quite obviously depicting the pair in a realistic manner with traces of expressionism for the brisk professional display of their movement.

The head of the one in black turned first. He regarded her with a rather cold stare for a few moments while it seemed he was assessing her for something. Which he was. She did not seem to be a danger, unless she planned on gettign paint on Rufus' clothing, but looks could be decieving. His arms crossed behind his back and he stopped along with Rufus.
The blond turned a bright blue gaze on the artist as she spoke to him. After years and years of setting his life in Tseng's hands he knew that had the woman been dangerous off the bat Tseng would not have let him stop, nor would he have stayed slightly behind him.
He took in the paints and the canvus and smirked. Of course she had begin painting them without asking and now that she was in risk of loosing them she was forced to ask them to stop. "It seems you have already captured us without the need for a spared moment. Would the painting not have more feeling if we were unaware of us being laid down on the canvus?"

Green eyes danced happily. She had been momentarily afraid... of what? Relm did not want to say. But now there was a great chance at something of interest. Especially how the one in white spoke. She could see the subtle power of him, the way the one in black followed with respect & loyalty. She smiled, enjoying the cultured way of his speech.
"A triffle." Relm waved nonchalantly, careful not to permit any paint to mar the perfection of the blonde's pristine white suit. "I can perhaps capture the moment thus, but not the essence of such dignified gentlemen as yourselves in such a short amount of time." She loved how he used the word capture, though her heart fluttered in curiosity as the artist-mage wondered if he could possibly know of her 'other' skills with the brush. No. Relm Arrowny was likely beneath the notice of one so obviously bred for the city. Perhaps not for long?
Dipping her head modestly the artist tilted her head so ever so lightly to bring her green eyes to catch the leader's blues. "It is not often I see a subject that entices me to paint more. If I could capture you..."
Her voice trailed off & she blushed. "My pardon, good sirs. But I have been hoping for something worth painting all day... perhaps longer. I would be honored..."
How did a country girl talk to one such as this? "... just to paint you. Though the honor you've already bestowed by pausing a moment is engraving your image on my eye, I would not want to do you injustice in a recollected replication."
"Does my work please you?" Her heart fluttered nervously. Sometimes Relm wondered where she got her nerve.

He leaned down slightly, being just a few inches taller than Rufus, and whispered something in his Bosses ear. The woman was slightly intresting and he didnt think she would be a thread if they induldged her for the moment.
He leaned his head back slightly to listen to Tseng speak and nodded slightly when Tseng straightned back up. "I do not see why we can not spare you a bit of out time."
Rude would keep the office under controll and Reno would be stuck in his office all day. He and Tseng could spare a few moments to induldge her. The woman's blush almost made him smirk but he managed to keep his face impassive. It wouldnt do to have her know that he had a feeling he knew what she was doing.
"Your work is lovely." Rufus had certinaly seen better but he had also seen worse.

The artist was slightly disappointed that her art did not stir a greater reaction than "lovely" & her pride stung a bit. To be sure, those on display today were only average works at best... aside from the one of the two gentlemen now before her there had been no soul, no spirit, no inspiration behind her paintings today. Even she could see that & it calmed her bruised pride. Not that her pride mattered much in the light of her delight that they would stay. Excitement & anticipation sent her adrenaline pumping. Green eyes sparkled with challenge & determination. She would make such an art to make an impression. Relm was certain she knew just the way to infuse magic into the painting... but that would be cheating. Maybe only a little magic... she would see as she painted.
Only her excitement showed through, & with that Relm practically beamed. "Oh, thank you! You have truly made my day!" She curtsied with a slight bounce of excitement she could not restrain, before putting the finishing touch of their eyes on the work before her. Her eyes sparkled with happiness at how those simple strokes transformed the piece, transcending it in her opinion. Still, it was but a quickie... and though it had the benefit of being inspired it was obviously only a meager representation. Relm wanted something that when finished would represent in such a way that if painting & audio were side by side one would be hard pressed to tell one from the other.
She could do it, she knew. Her heart pounded as she put the 'quickie' aside, revealing a large blank canvas behind. "This really is an honor. Please, relax if you wish, sit or stand. It matters not to me. I can -ahem- capture you as you said however you are, as long as you are yourself." Funny how he had wedged that particular word into her thoughts. "In truth a more honest representation will come of it."
She started to work as she spoke, setting the base spots of color to the canvas. For now, magic only to keep the paint at the desired consistency. Relm smiled in a lovely way, absent of any of her usual scheming. The artist honestly wanted to paint them & was beyond herself with good feelings about it.
The fact that she was quickly becoming quite taken with the attractive leader was another point entirely.

There was a bench close to the painter and Tseng took note of it. "Rufus, if you would like." He moved a hand to motion to the bench and when Rufus nodded and moved over he moved with him.
He sat, legs crossed at the knee, and watched the painter and thoes moving around in other parts of the park. Whether Rufus relaxed or not he would not.
He sat beside his bodyguard and leaned back against the bench. The breeze ruffled his hair occasionally and the edges of his white coat.
He managed to turn his smirk in a rather lovely little smile as he looked at her. "No, no" His voice was smooth as silk. "It is an honor to us to be painted by someone with such talent." alright so he was being far more kind than he should have but she wouldn't need to know that, not yet at least.
Pretty little girls could be useful for a time even if in the end they usually ended up costing more than they were worth. He could sit still and let her paint him and perhaps give him something to think about.

Although her brow rose ever so slightly at finally hearing the dark one speak at last it quickly returned to normal as Relm realized she now had a name to go with one of them. She was not quite as interested in underlings, though the relationship would be interesting to watch. It would certainly tell her a lot.
She warmed comfortably catching Rufus' light smile & smooth compliment. It did not matter whether he really meant it or not: Relm appreciated having her ego stroked. "You are too kind."
The artist mage touched the magic around her, altering the paint on the canvas so she could continue on to the next stage of layering, starting to add some definitions. "I usually don't do this... come to the city that is. Or ask total strangers if I may paint them."
Where was she going with that? For once Relm did not know. Perhaps she simply hoped to hear Rufus' silky smooth voice again. She suppressed a shiver. Her interest was clinched with that lovely smile, but she still did not know what she might want to do about it other than make an impression as she already wanted to do. She duplicated that smile on the corner of the canvas. She could magically move it later if she wished, but for now she just wanted to capture that moment. It might or might not fit the mood of this painting.
"I am overjoyed I did. Adventure can do one good."

He settled himself comfortably on the bench and sighed. They had at least a few hours before Rufus had anywhere to be. Though Rufus 'appointment' was more of a suprise visit than an actualy appointment. Tseng doubted the one on the otherside of the 'appointment' was going to be as pleased to see Rufus as Rufus would be to see them.
Though Tseng was rather suprised Rufus had brought him along for this particular 'appointment' rather than Rude.
"The city is no place for an artist." He spoke smoothly without his gaze ever leaving the girl. It wasnt obvious from his expression what he was thinking. It could have been a hundred different things and then none of thoes things.
"The city is a place for things much hasher than art." He took a momemt to think of something. "Unless you call thoes scupltures that some people try to pass off as abstract."
He was of the opinion that 'abstract art' was just an excuse for people to half a** something and try to make money off it. People could say what then wished about a single red line on a white canvus. They could call it an expression of whatever they wished but in the end it was still a perfect example of people with no creativity.
"You .... you would be more suited to the soft hills and rollling grasses of the country. Not the cold steel of the city." It was almost too easy to let things spill from his lips he cared nothing about. He had done it for so many years now it was almost an art to him.

Relm laughed easily at his comment on abstract art for she had a similar opinion. That did not interfere with her painting the slightest. However the insight Rufus displayed as he continued to speak did make her pause & look at him to catch his eye. "Is it that obvious?"
The look & tone was soft & slightly sad. Almost as if she was thinking far away things. It did not last long; perhaps only seconds around her speech. Then she was back to work, both with passion & professionalism. "The city has its own beauty, in a way. I've found inspiration here I never would have discovered remaining in the safe comforts of home, however lovely."
She was usually not so brutally honest. The artist preferred to play her games, twist the words, glaze over the truth without ever really lying. Perhaps because she felt Rufus could see right through her. Perhaps because she was go engrossed in her work that there was no room for coy mind games. She did not really think about it. Nor did she seem to notice any of the other passerby, save if they got between her & her models. The painting was starting to come alive now, so to speak, as the subjects became clear to even the least perceptive gawker passing the canvas. For the artist however, there was nothing in the world at that moment other than the distinguished gentlemen she studied, the painting, her artistic passion, & her ever quicker beating heart.

Tseng leaned down and whispered something to Rufus again. His voice was quiet enough to not be heard save for by the blond but it was obvious he was saying something.
He could have been himself and said it where the girl could hear but he knew Rufus better than that. He knew Rufus would have scolded him for it later and while that though was slightly entertaining he had other things in mind for later in the day.
He grinned at Tseng's words but his expression quicksly softened as he looked back to Relm. "Forgive me, but i do not believe i properly introdouced myself. I am Rufus ShinRa and this is my, ah, secretary Tseng. You would be?"
It was rather bad for to forget someone's name but thanks to Tseng's reminder he had caught it. What would he do without his Turks? Well he would be doing just what he was doing only he would have probably not done it as long.
"It is obvious to one who needs to know what people are thinking before they ever say anything." You didnt climb the buisness ladder without being able to second guess people, and second guess them correctly.

He wanted her name! Only formality perhaps, but certainly a start --and Relm preferred to see the glass as half full. At least until it was dashed from her hands completely. "Oh!" He eyes widened & she made a cute little face of surprise, the hand holding her brush quickly going to cover her mouth as it formed the small "o" of the sound. "A pleasure to meet you, Mister Rufus ShinRa, Mister Tseng. I am Relm Arrowny, formerly of Thamasa."
Stepping to the side of her easel Relm curtsied low with her legs, but only dipping her head to keep her posture. "I am surprised you would inquire the name of an artist." Surprised & thrilled, though she tried with some amount of success to keep that out of her voice. Then she blushed & quickly returned to the business side of her canvas, eyes down & wondering about his last statement. Going back to work she was both pleased & dismayed at how close to finished the piece was.
"And do you know what I'm thinking?" Light green eyes flicked upward to his almost daringly. She hoped not. She did not want him to perceive the jumbled state of her thoughts behind her more outward collected display. Besides, Relm enjoyed a challenge. Which Rufus ShinRa could be... if as Setzer put it the cards & Lady Luck were in her favor & she played them right. If Rufus could indeed read her thoughts that would certainly alter the challenge. Of course normally it seemed the cards were already stacked against her before the game began no matter how well she played her cards.

"Relm is it...intresting." Not as intresting as either Baxter or Lunaris but intresting. It seemed that many people around here had names that were from places he couldnt fathom. Other worlds perhaps. Other worlds were not his concern, he had to own this one before he started thinking about other worlds.
It amused him that she bowed. That wasnt a custom in the city he was from. It was one Tseng used, seeing as how it was commonplace where he was from, but Tseng only continued to do it because Rufus enjoyed it.
"I can not read your mind persay, but actions often speak louder than words, and the choice of words speaks volumes." He nodded slowly. "It the world of buisness it is always advantageous to be able to stay a step ahead of thoes you are trying to walk on." Plus he just had a knack for knowing how to use people. That ment that he was an amazing judge of character and had only been wrong a few times. He wasnt wrong for long though, Rufus was never wrong for long.

"And for one such as you, speech is an art." She smiled pleased more with her painting than her wit. She was now to the detail work, & her brow furrowed slightly in concentration. A little shimmer of magic could be seen around the artist and her canvas as she adjusted the paint to her favor & did not have to let the layers dry nor harden too quickly. The images were beginning to come alive & Relm was giddy with delight. She could not remember enjoying painting a piece more. Perhaps the one of Keme, in his special place. But that was different. This was invigorating; that was calming, soothing even. "You are an artist of silken words, & any good artist sees more than the surface. The way you speak, I would term you a master."
The artist was nearly finished. She moved the smile from before into place, magically duplicating it into her sketchbook for herself. A keepsake, if you will. All the details were being finished, except for the eyes. The eyes were key. Integral. Windows to the soul? Perhaps. Though Relm could see that both gentlemen had their 'shades' drawn, so to speak. Still, their nature was apparent enough to the girl who made it her business to know such things.
