Angel's Tears

The mysteries of nature,
The sun rays searching spied
The drops of dew so crystal clear
Like diamonds glorified.

An angel must have cried last night,
Tears falling from the sky
Must have seeped down through the stars
In heaven, way up high.

Do angels cry the drops of dew
That grace the early morn,
Then scamper off to disappear
When dawn's first light is born?

Perhaps that dawn, while creeping forth
Upon the secrets bold...
Could tell us if those silver drops
Were touched by wands of gold.

One day in February....

"Allright let's start with the herbs, angelica root...ok, bat's eye...o, blood root...ok, catnip...ok, chamomile...ok..." Ebony was doing the inventory. The dark skinned girl with long black hair and ringed horns look at the list, she had run out of mandrakes, orange blossoms and tonka beans. It would probably be a good idea to get some moonstones and a bottle of lavander honey too, her stocks were dwindling. She told a few words to Bibiko, a blue mouse like critter whose forehead was ornated with a red heart-shape mark. Then she put a paper on the counter door on which was written Away for a while. Will be back in two or three days and left the shop, leaving the door unlocked. There was nothing to fear from thieves or vandals, some of them had soon learn that it wasn't a good idea to break in here and the word had spread among them. The weather was a bit cold this morning, but rows of narcissus and tulips were starting to bloom in the front part of the shop.

A few hours later...

Bibiko was helping himself with the cookie jar on the counter, swinging his tail as he was nibbling at a biscuit. He didn't notice when he accidentally swept the paper that Ebony had left on the counter. It swirled a moment in the air and softly fell on the floor. Suddendly the chime of the frontpage ringed. It couldn't be Ebony. He dived behind the jars and spied on the pink haired girl that entered the shop and the two little creatures that were following her. The rainbowy one smelled nice and looked kinda tasty. It was then he noticed that Ebony's message was no more on the counter. Oh no ! But to his relief, the human seem to have understand she was gone.



The girl finally left. Bibiko looked at the letter. He couldn't read of course but was thinking about something... the Zumi scurried away than came back pushing along the cookie jar and stucked half of letter beneath. Now this one wouldn't fall. And his genius idea amply deserved some more cookies, after all the brain needed to be feed. Indeed !

The day after...

Ebony decided to stop by the Wethkin Shoppe and have a look at the Mini Shoppe section, she recalled that they were various items for Wethkin. She reviewed them. Antenna potion ? Would it really suit Bindu ? It was probably better to wait until it the little Dew egg get hatched to see. She wasn't too attracted by the halos, they looked nice but she happened to prefer demonic attributes over angelic ones. Umbrella leaves and Shu-shu berries were interesting. Suddenly her eyes fall upon some pretty glimmering blue bags.



Sparkle dust was perfect ! Thus she decided to purchase a bag and spread it on her Wethkin when she got home. The little egg soon started to shimmer :

A moment later, it heard a 'flap' sound and saw something fly across the room and land on the counter. The Wethkin went to hide behind a nearby plant. It looked less frightening than the being it saw earlier, as it was much more smaller, but better safe than sorry.

Ichiko put down her little basket full of berries. Her trip to the woods had been fructuous. Now what ? Ah yes, she though, time to take care of the plants. She went to fetch a little watering can behind the counter and filled it with water thanks to a small tap that was located at the bottom of it.

The sprite eyed the creature, a bit scared but quite interested to know what was going on. It was wondering why the creature was seeming in such a good mood. Could it be because of evil plans ? After spying a few minutes, the little Dew sprite started getting a better opinion of the strawberry fairy as it saw she was watering the plants.

Then, it saw another creature climbing on the counter while the fairy was starting to water the potted cactuses that were ornating its right side of the counter. The newcomer was blue and had a body with hints of plumpness. The Wethkin wanted to shout to the fairy: "Beware, there's a monster behind you !" but it feared then the foe would know about its whereabouts. It became a great relief when the sprite noticed that the fairy greeted happily at the blue creature, solving the sprite's dilemma. It seeemed actually harmless. The little sprite kept following it with its little black eyes, when it saw the blue creature heading to a transparent jar containing sweets and watched it as it unscrew the cap and took out a handful of candies.

Suddenly something was looming behind the little Weathkin. ''Eee !'' Ichiko giggled seeing the sprite's tiny face turning all anxious. It went to hide inside the hole in the rocks.

"Hello Bindu ! Come ! Ebony not here now. Me Ichiko ! Me show you our room !" As the strawberry fairy kept calling 'Bindu', the weather sprite figured out this might be her/his name. The Wethkin hesitated, and finally after carefully weighting the pros and the cons, advanced caustiously, ready to roll back if the fairy was showing intentions to catch it or something.

But the fairy was already fluttering in the air and gesturing at the dew sprite to follow her. Bindu grew worried, how was it supposed to follow her ? The Wethkin wobbled to the edge of the counter, bend over and jerked back, shrieking, as it taken by vertigo.

Ichiko landed again on the counter to reassure poor Bindu, who was trembling. "Bindu, no worry ! You fly ! Do like this !" she flapped her own wings to show the Dew sprite.

Fly ? Could I fly too ? Bindu twisted around, trying to look at the transparent blue wings that were floating seperately near its back, and seemed somehow to be part of the sprite even if they were attached to it.

The concept of having to quit the security and friendliness of the solid ground to hang exposed to the mood of air made Bindu doubt. Noway !The Sugar Fairy seemed to understand the concerns of the little spite. "Oki, first you start to fly a little bit. This high, yes ?" Her hand was a couple of inches above the counter's wood.

Bindu thought a while... hmm maybe that was worth a try, as there would still be a 'ground'. The Wethkin concentrated, nothing seemed to happen at first but suddenly it found itself floating in the air and not knowing how it happened, started to panick and landed quickly.

'You do good, Bindu ! See, very easy ! Now you can fly higher !" Bindu shaked her head negatively. "Pa pa pa DO !"
The fairy landed on the counter too and tried to think of a plan. Suddently an idea came to her mind and her face brightened. "Ichiko know ! You know Peter Pan ? And Tinkerbell ? She fairy like Ichiko ! Me saw them on teeveevee ! She have fairy dust to fly ! Peter gave to Wendy and Wendy's brothers ! Me give you fairy dust too and Bindu can fly too ! Very high ! Good idea, yes ? Yes ?" She said excitely.
Bindu stared at the Fairy with a blank look, confused by the flood of words, which was total nonsense for the little dew sprite.

Ichiko settled down a bit and tried to explain things better. Bindu was still skeptical at first, but the red-headed's excitement eventually impregnate her as well. Ichiko turned and flapped her wings over the sprite, dropping some fine translucide and shiny powder.

And with Ichiko encouraging it and a few attempts, the little Dew sprite start finding itself steady, and ready to overcome the void. As Ichiko suggested her it started fly into circles, thight at first, and then a bit larger as to leave the counter for a couple of seconds and carrying on, making bigger and bigger circles untill it was fully confortable with the idea of flight.

Finally, Bindu left the counter and followed Ichiko, with Bibiko trailing after them.
