No, people actually do care about 9/11. I care about 9/11.

But suddenly the media's massacred it and now I don't want to do all this "rememberance" crap that people are planning because 5 years passed. Because I don't care to "remember", and you know why?

Because I don't need anybody to help remind me of anything. I watched the news on 9/11 and in the days afterward. I watched the news the whole day. The images have been burned into my head. I remember where I was when I heard initial reports, and then where I was when I actually found out it was an attack and that the Twin Towers were gone. I remember crying because so many people died. I remember how it was on every channel, and if it wasn't, the channel was offline with a message saying there would be no programming broadcast because of 9/11.

And then we look at Katrina and oops. No one cares about that because it was a bunch of poor black people who died. Too bad they weren't all rich white businessmen, then maybe that would've worked better, huh?

It's all just a load of bullshit. So we got attacked and then Bush was like "We're gonna get those suckers", and all the anti-war whiners forget that we were all for that, because we were pissed off. Terrorists took down our beloved Twin Towers (which many New Yorkers thought were ugly in the first place) and we wanted everyone who looked like them dead, remember? Everyone forgets how popular Bush was then because he was declaring the revenge we wanted so badly because all our rich white businessmen died.

Don't get me wrong. 9/11 was horrible and it damn well should be remembered, but not like this. Not with media blowouts and stereotypical candlelight vigils and interviews with kids who were barely even alive for the damn thing. If it just becomes a stupid media sympathy frenzy then there's no point. If we're going to keep this memory alive it has to mean something more than a "5-year anniversary" fad and more than a bunch of ratings for CNN and Fox News.

September 11th, 2006. Celebrating five years of reduced individual freedom, and even more suckulous air travel.

Thats why I was pissed about them making it a movie. They just cheapened the experience that people had because they wanted to make money off of it.

I know. But I found World Trade Center more offensive than United 93 just because United 93 didn't use any big names or recognizeable faces. I mean, if you've gotta make a movie about this, then Jesus, don't use Nicholas Cage.
