Jan had stayed up far too late last night, having slept over at Anisia's. That girl was fun and so sweet! However, she'd woken up later than expected, and now wasn't exactly late but... Whenever she went to see Ancelin, she always showed up by one, now it was... Three. Sure, technically she wasn't late, since they'd never established that as the time she was supposed to arrive, but she always DID, and it was expected now.
The girl was let into the house by one of the other kids, and moved up the stairs to Ancelin's room, knocking lightly before opening it and slinking it, shutting the door behind herself.
"Anny? Wha'd ya wanna do taday? I was o'er at Anisia's las' nigh' an' woke up late."
She'd forgotten, and had no qualms about asking. Jan rarely forgot.

"If you like Anisia so much, why don't you just go back to her house?" Retorted a very vexed Ancelin from one of her fishtanks as she heard a familer voice enter the room. She had taken to cleaning the inside of one of the tanks to releive stress. And she had run many senerios over in her mind on how she would yell at Jani and exsactly what she would say.
"I was wor-" She cut herself off. "I thought you had blown me off." She said sharply as she looked over to the potato girl, her sidelocks quickly flying over her shoulder. Ancelin wasn't about to admit it, but because the potato girl was two hours late from the norm, she had been worried SICK about her. "I called your cellphone twice and you didn't so much as text me."

Jan had been about to apologize when Ancelin's comment caught her off gaurd, and strangely, made her... Angry. Sjajan never got angry at Ancelin.
"Ah din't 'ave et WITH ME."
Shooting a mean comment back at the older gril, she rolled her eyes.
"Don' see what th' big deal is. S'not like ya ever CARE ef Ah'm 'ere or not."

"You could of called me and told me you'd be late!" An barked back at Jani. She was a bit taken back that Jani would actually YELL at her, but she was mad as it was. Stupid dirty potato girl, making her worry sick like that, afraid that somebody might of taken advantage of her.. Rasim frasim.
"You always get here at one on Saturdays! I make sure to clear my schedual just to hang out with you! The least you could do is tell me if your going to be late. Then agian, ever since Anisia showed up agian you've just been smitten with her, haven't you?" An growled. She was jealous, but she wasn't about to let Jani know that.

Jan slim fingers curled as her hands balled into fists. She'd never, ever hit Ancelin, but she was still a physically intimidating girl to rumble with. The tensing was more instinctual than anything else as she took a step farther into the room. She wanted to bring up the ONE girl she'd been hanging out with ALMOST as much Ancelin? Fine.
"ANISIA doesn' think Ah'm GROSS becuz Ah like ta garden! ANISIA doesn' think Ah'm NOTHIN'! ANISIA ain't tryin ta change me ev'ry five se'onds!"
She was hurt, defensive, and damn if she wasn't saying something that'd been in the back of her mind, although it was rather exaggerated.

"Well.. I.." Anny really didn't have a retort to that.. Yeah, Anny did think some of the things Jani did was gross, and she did constantly groom and nit pick on her.. But dammit... That was her showing she cared, right? Maybe... Ah who knows.
"I happen to really like your gardening now! I think it's cool what you can do with those herbs! And your not nothing! At least not to me! I can't help it if I hate it when you get dirt on you! I don't want it getting all over the furniture or on me!" Ancelin shouted, before she quickly bit down on her lip. Argh, she was saying too much.
"You like Anisia more than you do me now, don't you? Just because she doesn't like everything clean like me!" Anny finished, leering at Jani. She was holding in alot of words she wanted to say, and she didn't even stop to realise what she was letting out could of been insulting.

"AH DUN LOVE ANYONE BETTER'N YOU, ANNY!"
Jan turned red after the shout, and her gaze glued itself to the floor, her fists shoved into pockets as she forced herself to go on, letting her bangs fall onto her face, to hide her expression as best as she could.
"Ya alrea'y knew tha'.... Ah've been tellin' ya tha' fer a while now."
It was the truth. The blonde then looked up, brown eyes fierce, as if daring Ancelin to be open.
"Why do ya care who Ah'm hangin' 'round, Ancelin?"

Ancelin's two tone eyes went wide as her pupils drew thin, jaw gaping, and face red. Jani said WHAT?! Jani loved her? Anny always said she thought Jani had a crush on her.. But.. She never really DID think that. Anny's entire face was a deep shade of crimson, as she studdered. "I.. I... um..." Why did Anny care? Anny didn't know. All she knew is when Jani started hanging around other people, she would get this pain in her chest. And she'd get angry with whoever the person was who Jani was spending time with.
"I... I don't know." Anny said as she quickly averted her gaze to the ground and shrugged. "Just used to havin ya around to myself I guess..." She muttered quickly and under her breath. Quickly. Why was Anny jealous? Did she love Jani? No.. There was no way. Jani was so... so.... JANI. Jani who had freckles on her face that made her look like she had dirt on her, and that scar that she got from not taking proper care of her infection. Jani who dug around in dirt all day just for the fun of it. Jani who always hung around and came and visited her even when she wasn't exsactly invited.. Filthy, annoying Jani who was always bothering her!
"I don't know! I don't even know why we're friends at all." Anny said in a panic, before she bit down on her lip and closed her eyes. She couldn't even bare to chance seeing Jani right now. She was just flooded with emotions she didn't understand.

Jan, having revealed something she hadn't meant to, now shut it all off at what she considered rejection. There were no tears, no expression on her face, and when she spoke, her tone was wooden, unfeeling. Of course, on the inside? A different story.
"Yer right. We shoul'n be."
Lifting the satchel she'd dropped on the ground during their argument, she opened Anny's door, and let her brown eyes run over the other girl for a long moment, as if memorizing.
"Bye, Ancelin. Ah'm leavin'."
Maybe Jan should rethink that offer Indu had presented to her a while ago. Boarding school. Things would be better away from... Here. Her.

Ancelin opened her mouth like she was about to speak. About to say 'Don't go Jani, I didn't mean that' and then 'I don't understand the feelings I get when your around'. But even though her lips where forming the words, nothing was comming out. Ancelin closed her eyes tightly as she felt a burning swell up in her throat, as she clenched her fists at her side.
"Bye!" She squeeked loudly, choking on herself. She then walked over and slammed the door shut, before she turned her head away and looked at an empy bucket that was sitting on the floor for fish tank cleaning, she then let out a loud scream and kicked it. Ancelin then ran over to her bed and threw her head into a pillow and screamed agian, and didn't leave there for hours. What the hell was wrong with her?
