Tinanitico vs. Inferi "Shameless Pain" Vulgus

FIGHT!
PostPosted: Fri Sep 08, 2006 12:24 am

At the northern gates a single spire of a strange metal shot up from a space about two feet off the ground, angeled ten degrees towards the southern entrance to the arena. A loud -=SHINK=- echoed through the arena as the sound of metal on flesh and blood could clearly be heard. This was confirmed as a black ooze began to flow from the spire. When it slowly began to retract the sound of metal on metal was clearly evident, the inverted cone pulling back from whence it came to reveal a tall figure dressed mostly in black. The black leather coat, pants, boots, and shirt with a crimson emblem upon it seemed to seal upas soon as the spikes were gone, but the holes in his form remained.

His gaze rose as he dropped into a crouch, a hole bored right through his skull with a smile on his lips. That too began to close as grey skin was shown under a layer of fluidic black armor. His dead eyes were but mere orbs of blackness, windows to a soul that had been taken away to leave nothing but a void. The spines of bone that grew back from his bald scalp seemed to resemble hair, slicked back as if moving at an incredible rate. His body was taken to the peak of his current stage of evolution just to begin the fight at hand, not yet decided what effects might be called upon in terms of the Aspects of the Dominion.

A bolt of lightning from a clear sky strikes the ground near the eastern entrance, and a bright light fills the arena...fading to reveal a blond-haired woman.

The beast of a man simply seems to disappear as a combination of effects take hold. First of all, light around him simply ceases to be, a sphere of darkness enveloping as the light is gathered and redirected to a new purpose. Every few moments the light in a growing area would be set to flow into one of four orbs taking shape at the cardinal directions of the arena atop the walls. The blackness covering his body stretches out, filling the darkness with shadowstuff that exudes a clear version of the Crimson Mist. In this field IV would be invisible, would be undetectable by air currents from the distortion around him, and his aura would be spread over much too large of an area to pinpoint him. Furthermore, blood began to coat his left palm as he charged forward, right hand unraveling into a blade of sorts.

Tinanitico swiftly aims her left arm upon the disappearance of her opponent and looses a blast of pure energy straight at the spot where her enemy had been, a shining glow gathering around her right hand in the meantime.

[Invis-10ft]

The pure energy flows through the area in which IV was obviously located and simply seemed to sputter and die. It was consumed rather entirely by the armor that coated IV's form and the Crimson Mist within the darkness. The field only continues to expand as he darts forward, blood continuing to form an effect within his palm. In his passing needles of bone would begin reaching up from the ground, coating every inch of the field of darkness in his wake. As yet these simple needles would merely project from the ground, sitting as if old fashioned caltrops meant to disable walking. At this point IV was nearly upon Tinanitico, charging forth as if to tackle her to the ground and crush her under the incredible weight of his body. It would also be noted that if she entered the field of darkness the shadows would lash out at her flesh and the Crimson Mist would sap excess energies flowing from her, which meant that spellcasting would become incredibly difficult without incredible losses.

As IV approaches, a heavy-looking one-handed hammer materializes in Tinanitico's right hand; she makes it look easy as hell to handle as she flings it at his approximate position at high speed with a flick of the wrist, the hammer spinning at very high speed and glowing. She also maintains a very slight, tenuous link with it, like a single strand of thread, as she turns and runs, hauling a** out of IV's path at top speed.

She's doing more than running, though. She also extends her senses, examining the aura and the shadow; her expertise in magical studies should help here, and she might be able to learn some clues to the nature of this beast or its abilities by attempting to percieve the exact type of magical energies used and the way they are shaped and used.

[Invis-15ft]

Between nearly coporeal shadows producing force upon the hammer and an incredibly swing of IV's right arm, the hammer would be deflected. Deflected, as noted here, would either mean passing him on his right by a small amount if the hammer is under immense control and is highly magical, or "******** gone" if it is mundane from the force of the swing, with all levels between included. If any energy discharge occurs from the strike it will be noted that the energy will be consumed and directly added to the spell at hand after purification and conversaion. The analysis of his aura leaves much to be desired, a large variety of energy sources detected with a large variety of usage types possible. The shadows are controlled by a form of inborn link to darkness, one that oddly doesn't exist in IV himself. This is by no means outside interference, merely a projection of an Aspect of the Dominion he has unlocked and holds within himself. At this time only one projection is possible based on the skill level he has with the Psychoreactive Armor.

The field around him continues to expand as he rages after his opponent, the darkness and blood pooling in palm only growing in strength. The third set was complete and even at this moment the darkness seemed to leak up from his field, coiling towards the sky in smoky tendrils. These tendrils radiated malice and spite, and while the spell could not be identified while within the field, this effect would extend outside the field and any analysis would flood the senses in a shock to the system. The field of needles continued to flood behind him and as he charged his body shifted within, moving to his right side, the field not staying centered around him, but where he should be. Once again he continued his charge for a similar tackle as before, this time with an added bonus of his right hand surging forth for a nice kidney strike with a blade of bone, dripping with his own blood.

As the hammer spirals off into the distance, the thread of energy connecting it to Tinanitico broken, she flinches from the analysis of the tendrils and recoils backward, hurriedly working on a wall-shaped antimagic field between herself and IV as she continues to step away, shaken.

[Invis-20ft]

The tendrils of spite began to coalesce into a cloud that rose ever higher, fueled by the blood and malice of IV. Dark energies surged through the cloud as it seemed to radiate evil, magical forces realigning to bring forth the projection of spite. Meanwhile, IV continued his advance, needles left in the wake of his growing field. At this point Tinanitico would surely be inside the field and find herself subject to the assault from semiphysical shadowstuff as well as the energy draining capabilities of the "mists." He had been hoping that in this tournament he would find someone with the strength to push his own limits, to unlock the second stage of the psychoreactive armor. Only when met with adversity could he truly be tested, and if he looked as if to fail the test, he would cheat in less obvious and hardly illegal terms. Furthermore, he was damned sure he was supposed to have stabbed something in there. Oh well, he'd just try that whole tackle and stab thing again.

As she momentarily enters the mists and is threatened by the tendrils, she learns just a bit more about the nature of the energies, and "getting the ******** out of there" goes a bit higher on the priority ladder. A very strong backward leap, which isn't so much a leap as it is "going straight backward and up and not caring much about gravity" at a respectable speed; not SWIFT, but it'll take more than walking to pursue her. The foundations of the antimagic field decay, it having been rendered useless position-wise, and she begins to work on a new one elsewhere and out of the way of the current combat.

Again, he charged and made after her for another lunging tackling thing if he could only get close enough. Kidney shots were always fun. This time, however, a kidney shot of the most extreme degree would come from the skies above. The malice above would form from clouds of the darkest of greys and descend once more in the shape of a great fist. This simple effect was the Crushing Fist of Spite, and as it fell it seemed to cetner around Tin' and begin a long series of thrusting motions aimed to crush her into a bloody pulp by repeated punchings. Evil energy and force magic created the hand, its durability extremely high but not indestructable. So totally going to crushabitch.

Tinanitico raises a hand, creating a barrier to hold back the barrage with slight difficulty while she deflects the physical attack with her hammer and a bit of magical aid. Work on the anti-magic is, for now, suspended.

((Wait...did the hammer come back? >.> Last mention of it I saw had it flying to god knows where.))

[Invis-30ft]

-If the barrier keeps out IV and the Fist-
While the Fist continues its relentless assault against the Barrier IV merely approaches it, tendrils of shadow assaulting it from all sides possible as the invisibility field draws around it. Constant assault and energy draining effects would begin to wear on the barrier as IV prepared for what came next. Should Tin still be on the move he will leap and slam the ground, and if not he will kneel and slam the ground. Either way the effect will be the same, several spikes of bone shooting up from below the ground around where Tin should be.

-If it keeps out just the Fist and not IV-

While the Fist continues its relentless assault against the Barrier IV would keep close, tendrils of shadowstuff assaulting Tin and the barrier, aiming to weaken both though attack and energy draining. Should Tin still be on the move IV would launch a series of spikes with a slash of his arm through the air, each aimed at her torso in an attempt to run her through. During this the shadows lashing at her body would not only try and slash at her, but restrain arms, legs, and neck in an attempt to immobilize.
