He sat underneath the shade of a acacia tree, letting the hottest part of the day pass by him without a concern in the world. He was a well pleased lion, with a beautiful Chinara to spend his time talking with and no displeasing events to bring his mood down. Of course, there were some things he did not know, and if he did he'd probably would not be alone right now. He'd be following his darling Chinara around like the over-protective father he was destined to be. Perhaps it was best that he did not know yet, Chinara would be able to catch some quick bits of peace and quiet before she was forever followed around by Ezeoha.
His wide mouth opened in a lazy yawn, and then his head plopped lazily down onto his forepaws. His half-mane toppled to the side, brown strands falling over bright red eyes. Ezeoha had long since learned how to be sexy constantly. Even when he did not mean to, he managed to look appealing to any wandering female who was currently craving to have cubs with /anyone/ who was handsome enough. If any female like that came by, Ezeoha would be her man.
Of course, though, no female seemed likely to be wandering by his secluded tree, so he contented himself with lazily grooming his front paws. He'd have to ask Chinara to groom his mane for him, it was terribly difficult to get to, and there were some places his tongue couldn't reach, no matter how long it was. He doubted, though, that she'd be terribly willing to that, and he certainly wasn't going to ask his mother to.
Oh, dilemmas, dilemmas.

A humerous snort preceeded the aged voice of one of Ezeoha's childhood friends as she watched the now adolscent male lounging around.
"Man, Ezzy, I never would've pegged you for the lazy type." She smirked as she crested a small mound of Earth that sat particularly tall under the grass, compared to the rest of the even grassland.
She'd been seeking.... not any particular one thing, but one of several possibilities. Shade, food, companionship, or even entertainment. When she came by one of her old friends, of course the native-born Pridelander couldn't resist a chance to chat with them.
She was just a week or two into official adolescence. How did she know? Well, for one, she had found in the passing weeks that there was less and less sleeping space to be had in the family den, and a look in the watering hole's reflection confirmed-- she had indeed gotten taller and longer. On top of that, now she couldn't help but notice that Jini had also begun to grow in more fur around the neck and head. His "cooties" were slowly being worked away, it seemed. It seemed like Ezeoha was also going through these changes, and it was no surprise that she hadn't noticed. When was the last time she saw him properly? Since Bari and she had that fight, she would guess. Did he know that she was a niece, now?
The dark female smirked tauntingly as she stopped before his resting place, her tail flicking behind her now and then to swat at the air.
"I guess time changes us all, hm?"

That voice was oddly familiar, and his tongue pulled back into his mouth after one more lick at his leg. Yes, that voice was really familiar, more mature, but certainly familiar. His red eyes were cast upwards, and her greeting was followed by a shocked silence. His mind was doing a few loops and his eyes must've practically been falling out of his head.
Holy crap, it was saying, he knew she'd be gorgeous when she was grown!
He could not have possibly estimated how pretty she looked to him now, though. With a fierce determination he got his mind back on track, pushing into the background his minute shock at seeing a pretty adolescent Mosi. How had missed such miraculous changes? Oh, that was right, he couldn't seem to find her very often. Chinara had been much easier to locate, but he had to admit, he had missed his childhood friend.
"This cannot possibly be consired laziness. I am giving myself a bath," he replied in his own defense, though his voice seemed to lack the whine it would've otherwise had when he was a cub. It was cool now, vibrant and strong, rich and melodic. He was everything everyone had expected him to be, though he was quite good at concealing his 'poorer' traits.
"I would have to agree, time certainly has changed us all." He had to resist looking her over, had to resist trying to make her blush. He had Chinara to please... He just couldn't try and woo every female that came his way.

Mosi chuckled, deciding that she rather enjoyed that reaction of speechlessness. She never would have thought she'd see a day when Ezzy had nothing to say, though it was all too quickly pushed out of her mind again. Her ears twitched atop her head as she listened to the other speak, making note of the subtle and more obvious changes that his voice had undergone. No more were the childish whines and indignant tones of a prince in a hurry to grow up. Now there was only a vibrant tenor left in it's place. Likewise she had shifted out of the boyish alto and was drifting to a higher octive, though it seemed she was fated to remain a note below soprano (thank God, she didn't think she could stand her own voice if she sounded as squeaky as that little rat-faced excuse for a badger they'd met all those weeks and months ago.).
She did note the lack of flirtatious greeting, and her eyebrows rose with a muffled look of being impressed. She couldn't pass up the chance to tease him, though, and wondered if this was the beginning of a permanent change for him. Had he given up on her, finally? Maybe found someone else? Ahhh, yes! >D It seemed that he had!
"Hmmm, Ezzy, Ezzy, Ezzy... whose scent is that saturating your fur, old friend?" She asked in a mirthful tone, stepping to the side to circle him, bounding back to the front of him from the other side once she had. "Could it be you found yourself a girlfriend?"
She sounded happy for him though, despite the mirth in her tone. There was an unmistakeable grin on her face at that. The idea was both amusing and kind of heartwarming.

He was glad that he had never been a cub easily embarrassed, and now that he had reached adolescence, nothing seemed to horribly phase Ezeoha (except rejection). He met her teasing with a cool smile, hoping horribly that it would tick her off when she realized that she could not get under his skin, but she could certainly get under him if she wanted...
And there his mind went, and after a few moments of some rather pleasing trail of thoughts, his mind snapped back to the conversation at hand. He could not allow himself to get distracted by Mosi's appeal to him. He had Chinara right now, and he couldn't be disloyal to her at such a crucial point in the relationship. Later on he could allow himself to drift a little. Chinara would understand, she knew his nature, at least, he hoped she'd understand. He had no idea what he'd do if he actually hurt Chinara. She was so delicate and sweet. There, his mind was where it should be, thinking about Chinara.
"Did you ever doubt my ability to woo females?" He grinned mischeviously at her, though he was keeping himself under control. He refused to flirt with Mosi when he had a relationship on his hands. Never would he intentionally hurt a female that he was with, and he knew Chinara would be hurt if he flirted with every female in the pride other than her.
"Oh, it seemed you did. Pity. Well, if you must know, I have the full intention of starting a family with another of my childhood friends, Chinara. Perhaps you know her." He was hoping it'd be a little shocking to Mosi, for her to find out that Ezeoha was already attempting to begin his own family. Dear gods, please don't make him sterile!

Mosi snorted again and smirked, not rising so easily to the bait anymore. Gone was the fiercely competitive urge to outdo him in his teasing, replaced by a bit more of her father's easy-going-laze. He did answer his own question before she had a chance to comment on what she'd always considered to be his "weirdness", though she wouldn't have noted it in the blunt way she used to had she the opprotunity. She just seated herself on her haunches and eased herself into a laying position, stretched out somewhat to his side. The only question on Mosi's mind was just how loyal was Ezeoha to this female? Was this behavior all her doing, or was it in any part an act? She did feel a little sting of jealousy, realizing that perhaps someone else had such a powerful influence on her friend that he'd even change his ways for them, but she tried to ignore it. She didn't see Ezeoha that way, right?
Yeah. It was just that she'd been trying for months to get him to stop flirting with her, and in the end all it took was some girl she'd never heard him mention before to get him to quit.
"Why am I not surprised? I can't say I do." She shrugged a bit, then did grant him one bit of ground. "I think mom's mentioned her in passing once, when we were little."

This was going to be more difficult then he had thought. Mosi was no longer a cub, either, and would not as easily rise up to match his tauntings. He knew that her cub-self was still in there, but it'd be considerably more difficult to get it out now. Ezeoha was never known for giving up, though, and he gave her a cool smile. There was certainly something going on it that pretty little head of hers, but he possibly could not figure out what it was, as she could not figure out what was going on in his head (he was glad for that too, she'd probably never talk to him again).
"It is getting terribly difficult to catch you off guard," Ezeoha admitted with a dramatic sigh. Oh, well, that certainly wasn't different. Ezeoha knew how to put on a show when a show seemed to be needed. He was, in fact, quite good, and had fool many lions into believing that they had upset him or had said something terribly insulting to him. He was born to be an actor.
"She's a lovely little lass, beautiful green eyes, natural creamy colors, and she's got the most adorable little white socks on her front legs." His smile was absolutely charming, and he was pretending to expect that she wanted to know everything about his new love. Inside, he was hoping he'd upset her a little, just a tiny bit. Perhaps knowing that he was more attracted to someone with less striking colors would get under her skin and make her slightly jeaoulsy.
Female jealousy. Purrrfect.

Mosi's eyes rolled, drifting to look away from him as if she found something else more interesting, yet in truth she was in fact, indeed, a bit jealous. She wouldn't admit it though, no, not to him, or her, should they ever meet. How was it that Ezzy had already found some female to swoon all over...? Did this mean that their friendship was going to change? Somehow she doubted if things could continue as they had, for either Ezzy would forget all about Mosi with his newfound love intrest, or Mosi would see less and less of him as things grew more akward. Even Jini seemed to be sharing more female company these days, though what did Mosi have to show for her efforts? She was jealous of his new found relationship.
Maybe she should reconsider setting out on one of those adventures she'd always talked about in her youth. She suddenly felt sick to her stomach with the idea of sitting around the Pridelands watching everyone around her pair off.
"That's great..... not that I needed a full body description, Ez." She rolled her eyes half heartedly.

Ezeoha's eyes were sharp, fixated on Mosi and searching for the tiniest movements in her body that would be a sign of discontent. He knew that his words could not just fall onto blind ears when it was Mosi who owned those ears. She would hear him, and all he could wonder was how her brain was responding to the fact that he had a lover, that he was not flirting with her, that he was becoming infatuated with Chinara. Ezeoha, by his own nature, knew quite enough about the female mind. But, there were still things he did not know, and those things could be going through her head right now.
He was dying to know what she was thinking at that moment.
"I'm sorry, Mosi," and for once her name was not accompanied by his accented 'dahlin'. "It's just that I don't get to see many other lions to talk about Chinara's beauty with." His eyes were filled with a distinct warmth, the warmth that came with becoming attached to someone. Together, Chinara and himself would create a family; he would not turn out like his father and abandon his children.
"It may be a little tough at the beginning. You know my nature as well as the next person. But, I'm determined to get through it. Chinara's worth it." Lazily he stretched out a little, a look of adoration and admiration upon his face, not for Mosi, but for the lioness he was thinking about at that moment: Chinara. It was not that he didn't feel attracted to Mosi, it was just that his commitment had been made to Chinara. If he had met up with Mosi before Chinara, and she had expressed a want to start her own family or have a relationship with him... Things would've been considerably different.

"Right... well, I'm happy for you, Ezeoha," She smiled faintly, turning to look at him again. She hoped she sounded scincere, because she was, even if it left her feeling a little depressed. It wasn't kids that she wanted, heavens no. But she suddenly had the feeling that things were going to become..... different.
Palsea had told her once that the winds in the Pridelands never really changed, they sort of gathered at Pride Rock, which was why the green lioness had choosen to home here, but suddenly Mosi felt like they had. When everything was said and done was she going to be setting out on those grand ventures all on her own?
"I'm sure you'll be happy together."
~Great Kings help the Pridelands once your spawn are loose, though.~ She thought to herself good naturedly, having a chuckle seemingly at nothing.

He gave her an encouraging smile back, deciding that it was no longer fun trying to upset her. This was one the few times that he was having a decent conversation (meaning having a conversation that lacked his flirtations) with Mosi. She was actually a rather pleasant lioness to speak with, and if he did not get distracted by her beauty every few seconds, he was sure he'd find some new things out about her that he had been too busy with flirting to notice.
"I sincerely hope so," he replied, his voice beginning to sound giddy with happiness. Ezeoha hoped so much that everything would work out between Chinara and himself. He had no ideas about how her parenting style would be. What if they turned out to have completely different view points? How much would their children suffer from that? Oh, he did not wish to think about anything negative. Too many good things were happening for Ezeoha, and he did not want to chase them all away.
"Now, my dahl-" He had to stop himself, and his eyes narrowed into a glare aimed at himself. This was surely becoming frustrating, trying to remain from calling Mosi by the pet name he had given her, and trying to stop himself from flirting with her. He was beginning to slip up already, and if he could not get control over himself now, his relationships would never work out. "Now, Mosi, what have you been up to since we have last seen each other?"

The black and white lioness shrugged animatedly. She either wasn't up to anything of intrest, or didn't care much for it.
"Hunting. I dunno.... stuff?" She answered, settling her chin on her paws to stare blankly ahead. It all seemed horribly boring to her right now. Her mind was, annoyingly enough, on other things. Brooding was really more her father's thing, not hers, so she'd better cut it out before people got suspicious. She seemed to ignore the slip-up all together. "There's never been much to do here, you know that, Ez." She sighed, tail starting to lash out lazily behind her.

"I, if you can believe this, have proven to be a terrible hunter." Of course, he never really had anyone to teach him. It was mostly trial and error on his part, and there was a lot more error then he could've pictured. He was certainly an elegant cat by all standards, but when trying to kill something he seemed to lack his natural grace. He was a clumsy killer, if he managed to catch something. Males obviously weren't destined to hunt.
Ezeoha's sigh mimicked her own, and his head seemed to droop lower. "I know that, indeed. I'm so tempted to get up and leave and start a life on my own, but I made a promise to Chinara. I will not abandon her if she does not want to leave." The wanderlust tugged constantly at him, begging him to permanently leave the Pridelands. He just couldn't, though, not with Chinara still wanting to live here. This was where she wanted to raise her children, at least for a little bit. Ezeoha could permit that, but one day he did just want to get up and leave.

"I can believe it. You're probably too busy fussing over your looks to pay attention to where your paws are landing." She teased with a dry smirk, pulling herself to her paws again. She hated to cut this short, but she suddenly just didn't feel like she could handle much more talk of Chinara and this family he planned on starting.
They'd see each other again, she was sure, and after he already slipped once (she'd never liked that pet-name and never would), best not chance it. She didn't want to be the one that he ended up going back to his old ways because of-- with all the nicknames and what not.
"Speakin' of family, I think I'll go visit my dear little old' aunts and uncles." She chuckled, tail twitching behind her. "Tell your Chi-bear I said hello, looking forward to meeting her sometime." She chuckled again teasingly, with friendly affection as she started off for her grandparent's den at Pride Rock. "Later, Ez!"

Ezeoha feigned being hurt by this statement. His paw pressed dramatically at his chest, eyes cast downward and looking sad. Hey, he was a good actor, but sometimes he could press things a little too far. "I am surely insulted that you would think I'd pay more attention to my looks than to my hungry stomach!" His stomach, as if in agreement rumbled, and Ezeoha could not help but drop his act and laugh.
His laughter died away, and his gaze turned up to her, almost seemingly sad. "Alright, tell them that Ezeoha says 'hi'... just not in front of your dad. He doesn't like me all that much." Though he was sad that Mosi had decided to leave, he could not help but try and keep up the good humor. He wanted to leave Mosi on a good note, wanted there still to be a friendship between them. He was dedicated to Chinara, but he certainly would not abandon his friends for her.
"Chi-bear?" He was genuinely surprised, but yet again that surprise shrunk away for laughter. Even he had not thought about giving her a pet name. It was cute, but he doubted Chinara would warm up to it. "Bye, Mosi!"
