Okay. This is going to sound weird, but I can't stop thinking about it and it's really bugging me.

In New Moon, Bella mentions something about what would happen if Charlie found them together, but it isn't like they would go any further than kissing because Edward always pulls back.

The thing is, how can she sexually go anywhere with Edward if his heart doesn't beat? He'd never be "in the mood!" So they can never really get intimate in their relationship.

For those of you who don't know, here's a bit of a biology lesson. I don't know if this is questionable or not, and if it is, oh my gosh, I'm really sorry. I'll delete this. But please highlight to read:

A man gets turned on when blood rushes to his you-know-what, which makes it stiff, and ready for sexual contact. A guy isn't turned on any other way.

But, it clearly mentions that Edward's heart doesn't beat, and if it doesn't beat, he doesn't have blood. If he doesn't have blood...then none of the above will happen, and they won't be able to actually do anything. Not to mention no more bodily functions...like...*cough* Yeah. That stuff.

I feel so embarrassed! I'm sorry if this grossed anyone out. I was just wondering if this is purposefully done by Stephenie or if she just didn't think about it. It's starting to bother me because how could they even kiss passionately if it doesn't make Edward excited and happy and whatnot?

That is exactly the same thing I thought when I read that part. I was wondering that, so I have no idea. Maybe...he doesn't need blood to do all of that.. Yeah.

No, they can't produce any body fluids. That includes crying, urination, and... well, you get the idea.
He can be "In the mood." A lot of sterile guys can get in the mood.
He doesn't need blood in his veins, he consumes blood.
As you know, the reason he can't be intimate with Bella is because of her scent. But, when she changes, she will not have the scent of her blood any longer, and if he did hurt her once changed (Accidently or not) he wouldn't be able to, for she would be as indestructable as he.

Well, sterile guys can be turned on because they have blood. o_o It has nothing to do with what's in the testes. Besides, sterile doesn't mean they don't have, um, stuff in there, because they do. Actually, guys are considered sterile if they have less than like 100,000 sperm in a mili-something of semen...yeah, I can't exactly remember the number.

Hmmm, I never thought about that, but now it's got me thinking. . .

Well, there are many things we don't know about Stephenie's vampires yet.
So maybe even though they don't have a heart beat and blood flow they can still.... yeah......

Everyone has their own deffinition of a vampire, of coarse.

Well Edward said that a vampire marriage is similler to a human marriage so it is implied that ampires can have sex, you just need to be anther vampire to survive it.

Nah. It's a very interesting thought that has been brought up and asked.

I guess you can kind of think of it this way....Vampires aren't human, which in turn..ok..well..ugh. How can I explain this without sounding stupid? Meh. I'll try.
So basically, they aren't human. Meaning they no longer need the regular way...for them to "get in the mood." It's kind of...more connected to their actually feelings?

As stated, she'll have no worries untill she is a vampire, anyway. No matter what, he'd probably end up killing her if they were to try anything. Heck, he almost does with a simple kiss. (Btw, one reason beyond her scent that makes him not alow her toungue in his mouth is also that..if she were to have a cut, the venom, like spit, would get into it, or he could cut her lip so easily with his teeth. It would be a VERY slow and painful death because it would be such a small amount of venom.)

Oh yeah, I read that venom thing somewhere too.

It all depends on the anatomy. If vampires can bleed, that means blood DOES flow, because if it didn't, it would just end up.. in their feet somewhere. Or something. XD

It's all entirely possible. As you can tell, Stephanie's vampires are different than most vampire stories you read on the net. Besides, Edward only tells her he could hurt her if they every went anything farther, not that he could never do it.

Interesting question.

Wanted to post this. (Info taken from TwilightLexicon.com)

Q: About venom and kissing. Is Bella in any danger of this venom when snogging Edward?

A. I’ve had a few people wondering why Edward always pulls away from Bella when she opens her mouth while he’s kissing her (thinking I have some sort of anti-female-affectionate-aggression agenda or something, I guess). But, of course, he’s just worried about her safety. Yes, the venom does pose a danger to her. It’s not like acid–it has to be in the bloodstream to cause any problems, it won’t hurt her skin. However, say she had a sore in her mouth, or that she’d bitten her tongue…. Even if that wasn’t the case, Edward’s teeth are sharp as razors. She could cut her lips or tongue on them easily, and then the conversion process would begin–very painfully and very slowly (because it would be such a small infusion of the venom). Sadly, true snogging is out.

Well, that's actually up to Stephenie.
She's already gone above and beyond the traditional vampire, so it's perfectly possible that pregnancy is possible in her books. It's just however she chooses to write it.

No on the lexicon thing it says they can't become pregnant or get anyone pregnant.

I'm still trying to figure out how Bella lives through her 'Girl time'. I mean ladies, think about it.
