Im just wondering what everyone else feels. What exactally is the presence of God like to you? What do you feel?
This is very important, (I cant tell you why untill im done) so I would be gratefull if everyone answered.

I know. That's pretty much it. I just 'know' when I feel the presence of God. All my questioning stops and I enjoy a moment of peacefull, knowledge-filled bliss.

Hmmm, it depends. If I'm upset and alone reading the Bible, then I'll feel this comfort and I just won't feel so alone after that.
But more often then not, I experience it in fellowship at my youth group. It's this feel of there's something more than this, this life, and all the things you can only touch and see and feel. It's that gut instinct that there is a God, despite "eveidence" that may disprove it.
It's a feeling of utter completion.

Sometimes when I'm feeling upset, it's like there's an invisible person giving me a hug.
Sometimes I can look at the sky and almost feel completely detached from everything else, like it's just me and the absolute beauty of the sky.
It's just this great feeling, like you're never alone.

Almost every time I feel the presence of God upon me I end up weeping... Its always overwhelming... Its a sense of awe, of prefect love.... I remember when I first started going back to church... I mean the very first time I went... They started worship and I just couldn't stop crying and I was gripping the pew infront of me and I just knew I was home... That I didn't have to search any longer that I didn't have to make it on my own... that my Father was there and God just showered me in His unfailing Love... I kinda of have moments like that all the time... I love being with the Lord there is no better place... When I come in repenence His love and mercy met me there and so do His arms... *shakes head*
Each person experiences God in a different way.... We are all different and God knowns how to reach into each one of us... He made us after all... biggrin I've seen people Laugh (had that experience myself) I've seen people fall over, I've heard testimonies of people actualy experiencing A Hug from God... Either way the over riding feeling, is a feeling of Love and a feeling of Awe and Honor... But its also more then a feeling...
I hope that helped you out! <3

When praying sometimes I can feel the Lord enter the room. To describe it, it's like a surprising presence has walked in and He usually comes through the door, haha.
I remember once being in chapel and feeling extremely depressed. The Lord gave me a hug. It was as if I was leaning into him. It was awesome. Another time I was standing and could feel His presence next to me on my left side. I asked Him about it, "Why do you always stand on my left side?" He replied so profoundly, "Because you are at my right hand." eek Awesomeness!
God does many other presence thingys but these are my favorite.

o.my.gosh. i love this thread. period. just reading your posts made me feel the same way you people felt, how God is there, etc... Made me cry in awe. Made me feel like He is here, comforting me in one of my feeling-down moments. He is comforting me that even though 'bestfriends' on earth slowly drift away from you, that He is one that will always be by your side...that He'll always be there no matter how many times you've wronged Him....thank You, Lord. Hope I really will get to see You soon, to actually experience hugging You, and not just picturing it.

Oh wow, your responses are amazing! It's great to feel like I'm not the only one or that I'm crazy because of what I feel. smile
I find that it depends on the situation. A verse comes to mind: "A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out..." (Isaiah 42:3, Matthew 12:20) When I'm at home in bed, praying for forgiveness, for example, God is firm with me and always is, never backing down from His position when I try to excuse myself. sweatdrop Rather, he reaches down, caressing my cheek, ruffling my hair and drawing me close to Him in a Fatherly embrace, because that's His way! When I pray thanksgiving, His face shines upon me and I feel alive, because it's not a light of judgment or righteousness but a light of favour. xd
When I have been praying and worshipping at a national event like Spring Harvest, I have felt His huge presence over us all with outstretched arms, blessing each one of us in turn with massive hands.
As I was saved, my chest felt tight and I thought I was being pulled along by the Spirit towards the pastor because my feet weren't moving of my own accord. eek
When I attended one young person's baptism in particular, I believed I heard God tell me to keep an eye out for the young person and watch over him, ministering to him if he seeked counsel. It's exactly this kind of thing that makes me feel crazy sometimes, haha! redface
For me, God has always been just... well... there, without having to announce His presence with fanfare or charisma. He can go as He pleases and do as He pleases, and I just love coming along for the ride! whee
