The lost Pride Lander had wandered a little ways from Kujack and Aysha again. The leopard asked if he would give the lioness some room during her pregnancy just as he had asked him. Ever since Kujack and Aysha mated and she getting pregnant, the three grew a little more distant. The juv missed the leopard and the lionesses company.
The Pride Lands was his home, he should go back....but he doesn't want to, not yet. He wants to stay with Kujack and his family for a while longer before he is no longer needed. Though, he wished that Kujack would come back with him.....would that even be able to happen?
Right now, he just had a lot on his mind. Soon he would have step-brothers and step-sisters and he would have to fight for his "Dad's" attention.
"Dad...."

((*should really make a small nice picture*  Wandeinrg on her pwn wasn't probably the best idea for someone of her size and...nature. Kaede wasn't that old, and she was a new arrival within the pridelands. A babby jackal, of a golden pelt that reflected teh sun off of her coat brightly as her bright green eyes wandered over everything before her. Her tail wagging constantly, she decided to go exploring today.
Her state of mind was odd to say the least. A few days ago, she had seen a lion from a distance, and now...she believed she was a lion too. A babby lion of course, but still a lion. She wanted to grow up big and strong and hunt well just like every other lion did. But how could she be a lion if she didn't exactly know how they acted and looked like? Mom and dad had told her to stay far away from strangers and run back home.
But today was an adventure!
Something was on the wind. Someone was close! She couldn't track very well but knew someone was close. In teh distance she could see a shadow. Maybe it was a lion like her! So without even thinking she started running in teh direction of the shadow she was fast approaching.

Ger trekked further closer to the Pride Lands. He had to keep refreshing his memory of the direction so he would be able to get back when he was older. What was happening there? He made a mental note to get someone to fill him in. Kikore, Mosi, Trina, or even Ezeoha.
Ger turned back to head home to Kujack but took a hesitant step forward. Turning back to his home lands, "Just a small look around." Ger smiled and trotted happily into the Pride Lands. He was just gonna take a quick look around.

Kaede was runing faster and faster, she could almost imagine herself running and leaping forward like that lion shdoaw she had seen days before. IMagine her mighty paws crashing down on the ground. It was all too wonderful in her mind.
The shadow was moving in another direction!
Oh no. She had to move faster. Going as fast as she could she ran towards them...well, him once she was getting closer. His pelt was goldenish too! Just like hers! Yay, she'd meet a lion like her!
Getting closer she slowed down and smiled and padded towards him,
"Hi!" she exclaimed wagging her tail, closing the gap between them, "I'm Kaede, who're you?" she asked curiously, her eyes watching him.

Ger quirked a brow and sat himself down. Wasn't far before he was greeted by someone. This was a jackal, it looked just like Goma, a jackal he met many times before when he went to play with Jamaa, a wild dog. Perhaps, he could just talk to this one for a while.
"Name's Ger." he replied bluntly. What was something so young so far away and alone for that matter. Ger quickly looked around to see if anyone was around. Guess not. Reaching back, scratching the fur that was now starting to change color, a start of a mane. "So Kaede, what are you doin' way out here?"

Kaede wagged her tail and made sure she'd remember his face, Ger, what a strange but unique name. She liked it quite much. She was also glad that he seemed quite friendly. She noticed his scratching and smiled to herself, he was getting a mane! Perhaps one day she'd get a mane too...wait, no, only male lions got manes. So what did females get...she thought and tapped her tail on the ground, she figured tfemales just got poofier fur utop their heads.
"Exploring...wanting to meet other lions," she said matter of factly, sitting down almost exactly as he was. "I thought since I'ma lion, I should go find friends..." she spoke it as if it was all true. Even though she kenw her parents didn't look like Ger, for some reason she felt like she was indeed a lion. Maybe Ger could help her be more of a lion. "Would you teach me...how to be strong and fast Ger? I want to be a strong and fast lion like you."

Ger held back a laughing fit, "Kaede, you aren't a lion, you're a jackal." he spoke with a smile. "I know because I know a jackal and he looks like you. What makes you think you are a lion?" Actually, he really wanted to know what tipped her off.
Ger's tail flicked when she asked if he could teach her, "I dunno....I don't come here often and I didn't plan on staying long here in the Pride Lands. I have to get back to my family later, y'know?" Ger gave a charming smile, "But you are cute, I'll give you that."

Kaede's eyes widened when he said she wasn't a lion. What was a jackal anyway?! Now she was confused,
"But I AM a lion, really I am cause...." she looked around then crouched down as if to pounce on him, "I'm fierce like a lion! Nobody cowers in fear of a fierce...jackmale or whatever you said...and I'm fierce for my size...so I'ma lion....right?" She looked ta him with hopeful eyes, hoping she was right. She just HAD to be a lion. She wanted to be big and strong like one.
When Ger said that he wouldn't be staying nearby Kaede's expression sadenned, Ger was the first lion she had actually met, and he was so nice. He was her only friend as of now. "Will you come back?" she asked softly. And she giggled when he said she was cute, "I'm cute and fierce!" and then she attempted a growl like a lion...but it didn't come out quite right.

Ger mimicked her pouncing position, but he actually pounced. Lunging at her, he held her down, rather put both paws on each side of her. "Oh really? Firece you say?" Ger smiled, chuckled, and got off. "Well, maybe you are a lion, maybe not. Who is to say who or what you are?" Ger wasn't going to be the one to tell her she wasn't a lion, he was just going to let her be happy for a while.
"Well, yeah, I should go home when the sun is about to set. But if it makes ya feel better I will visit sometimes." Ger sighed, what had he gotten himself into? A jackal who thinks she's a lion wants him to stick around? Great.

Kaede went wide eyed and than fell backwards and she was pinned, she smiled and batted her paws at him, as if in a fierce 'weaker' manner. But Ger got off himself, but she made herself believe she got away...but she knew it wasn't the truth. Not at all. "I dunno...I guess that we are who we make ourselves?" She asked tilting her head. She really did think she was a lion, only time would tell until her little world came crashing down upon her.
"I'd like it if you visit Ger...you're..." she stood up and her tial was a little lower then before, "Ger is the only friend I have made..." Kaede was adventurous, but she wasa silly little pup...cub...child and whenever she tried to approach a big lion...they went away. Ger was the first one she had gotten close to.
She noticed his sigh and her ears fell back a bit, "Does Ger...not want to visit and be Kaede's friend?" she asked, he seemed sort of lost in thought. She wondered if she was bothering him.

"Oh..." he wrapped his arms around her and hugged, "I would love to, it's just that I have to go back to my family too. But I can visit now and again, right?" he spoke with a smile. "If I come to the Pride Lands' boarder, I will come lookin' for ya."
Ger was a nice guy, just that he put feelings of others before family before himself. Just the way he worked things around perhaps. Ger licked her softly and let go. "Kaede, don't you have to go back to your family?" he asked, emphasis on the word your. Ger's tail flicked again.

Kaede smiled and nuzzled her head under his chin, her tail wagging behind her. She was still young, but she understood, everyone needed their family at one point or another. Even though she was 'different' from her siblings, she would still need them at some point.
"Then I will come looking for you too Ger," she said with a smile. Green eyes beaming with a happy desire. Kaede had a friend, not just any friend, she had Ger as her friend. She smiled and perhaps even blushed a bit in her cheeks when Ger licked her, but she tried to push it away. This feeling was weird adn she didn't understand it that was chruning in her.
But then that weird feeling went away and he asked her about her family. "Later yes...I think I can find my way home...I'm not the best of a tracker but I try...home is that way," she said pointing with a paw. Remembering she had come from that distance, remembering some of the rocks she passed along the way.
The sun was beginning its slow path towards the horizon line now, soon she might have to go home, but she didn't want to. She wanted to stay here and talk and play with Ger. "Do you live with your mommy and daddy too Ger?" she was curious about his family. Maybe they all came to visit here sometime.

Ger's eyes widened and then narrowed. "My father and mother...." he whispered. He never knew his father, he was never around or anywhere near Ger through his life. His mother, she just seemed to have disappeared. Kujack was his fatherly figure now. Aysha was like a mother to him, and soon she was going to be one. "Yeah, I live with them, my mother and father..." he smiled half-heartedly.
Ger licked her softly and purred, "You get home, Kaede, I'm going home now too. I'll come back tomorrow and look for ya. Maybe we can play a little." he spoke with a playful grin as his tail swung behind him.

For a moment Kaede thought she had upset him, he was lost in thought again. Perhaps he was strong adn smart, yes, Ger seemed like he'd be the best he could be. She nuzzled adn snuggled against him again as he purred, and she licked his cheek to show that she appreciated the attention and affection as a friend that he gave her. She never had a friend before, she was glad Ger was her first friend she made.
"I'd like that...to play tomorrow..." she pulled back and turned in the direction of where she was going, but she craned ehr neck backwards to take one last look at Ger, "I'm happy that I met Ger...Ger's my bestest friend ever..." smiling she wagged her tail and made a growl noise, she thought thats what lions do to eachother to say hi and bye. and she started towards home. Today had been a good day, she met a lion, and got a friend, not just any friend, a best friend, Ger.
