Rynn Draconis vs. Lunaritina

FIGHT!
PostPosted: Thu Sep 07, 2006 2:16 pm

Rynn walks into the arena and does a few simple, pointless stretches. His eyes flare neon blue once and he awaits his opponent. The temperature had already begun to drop around him, though invisible to the naked eye. This was in the immediate 5 feet around him.

Overall, he looked...simple.

A gray beam of light streaks down from the sky, impacting the center of the arena and reforming into a woman who looks humanoid, but with futuristic-looking metal armor covering her entire body save for her face, and it seems as though her head is covered by a helmet with hair beneath, for this same hair extends in pigtails from her hemet.

Rynn blinked once at his opponent's entry and sighed at the fact that she was a woman, despite the fact that this woman could probably kill him. Rynn was honorable, and the world truly wasn't worthy of him. wink

He now focused all of his energy into dropping the temperature immediately around him. The temperature was already freezingly cold by human standards. His ocean blue eyes studied the woman and he would patiently await her first move.

There's that honor thing again.

Giving no indications of noticing the temperature difference, Lunaritina charges forward, running at normal human speed, her right hand curling into a fist.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 10, 2006 12:14 pm

Huzzah, the woman would make the first move after all. The top half of his face(eyes) smiled as he began draining the temperature as fast as he could. This didn't require much energy either because he was simply resupplying his own energy reserves with the heat energy he was extracting from the air around him-simultaneously regulating his own temperature.

Rynn's left foot slid back a foot or so and his right hand came up as his left went out. The woman would enter his aura just about the time the temperature would hit -10 degrees Celsius.

Rynn's eyes carefully studied every movement of her muscles, checking her eyes every once in a while as well.

Rynn might be able to hear a few odd sounds from Lunaritina's armor as she springs forward right at him. He gets a nice close-up look at her metal-coated fist, looking oddly unhuman wrapped in the cold unforgiving steel (disclaimer: it isn't steel), as it streaks right at his face. Her eyes are fixed right on her face as well, and Rynn can't even begin to guess her movements from her body; the armor leaves almost no skin showing, and most of what happens in it seems to happen under the surface.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 13, 2006 1:58 pm

Rynn waits to move until Lunaritina has most certainly committed herself to the attack before he tilts his body to the right, avoiding the specifically aimed punch. She wouldn't have time to alter the course of her punch and Rynn's left hand would come up, grasping the arm that had come towards him and holding it in a vicegrip as the cold around him channeled into her limb, where it would begin spreading, freezing what it could, eventually killing the whole limb.

That was just the beginning though.

As his left hand would begin to enclose around her arm, an ice spike a little bit harder than steel(due to compacting) would launch from the center of his hand and straight through Lunaritina's arm/armor(if it wasn't stronger than steel), holding it even more so in place. If the ice spike failed to enter the arm, the spike would shatter instantly.

Once Rynn's hand would clasp around Lunaritina's arm, his right hand, in an open palm, would finish its movement towards her face, firing out a foot long spike from it before it would get too close or his momentum would be committed forward. Simultaneously, the cold around him would condense on her, especially her face and anything not protected by armor, while another cold blast would emerge from his hand with the ice spike, temperature of the blast reaching -50 degrees Celsius and dropping, along with the rest of his now focused aura.

Unless Lunaritina had some serious anti-cold armor or something of the like, she would begin locking up and freezing, along with the frostbite et cetera.

Rynn's eyes still focused on Lunaritina's, searching for hints of any action. However, he was perfectly aware of what was going on around him. He did not rely on eyesight alone.

Lunaritina hardly minds her right arm or the cold around it; the armor briefly glows, but the glow fades as the ice spike begins to penetrate it. However, at the last safe second as Rynn begins to fire the ice spike at her face, she stops holding back, and two things happen at the exact same time.

Though the ice spike from Rynn's left hand has penetrated her right arm easily and quickly frozen the dark maroon fluid which briefly leaks from within and he has had no trouble holding her, the armor suddenly resumes glowing, and Rynn would get a violent and constant electrical shock, possibly enough to temporarily incapacitate him. He would find it extremely difficult to escape this shock, as he's essentially frozen himself to her to the point where it'd take some effort to break free even under normal conditions; with the sudden shock, it's unlikely he'd be able to detach himself from her.

Meanwhile, her maneuvering system gets its first use in the fight as thrusters on her back fire, allowing her to accomplish what is essentially a high-speed crouch - getting her out of the way of the ice spike fired at her face. Though she keeps her right arm as still as possible to maximize the chances of Rynn remaining stuck to her and in major danger, her left arm can still move completely freely, and in a perfectly smooth motion coinciding with her crouch, her left arm moves forward and up, closing the already short distance between it and Rynn to what an observer would dub point-blank range - three to six inches.

What's more, her left forearm is no longer a forearm, but rather an energy buster. Which is mere inches from Rynn's abdomen. And completely ready to fire a shot capable of exploding the contents of his intestines out the back of his body while rupturing most other major organs including the lungs and annihilating the spine, not to mention the bloodloss from the nice big hole it'd punch in him. Such a shot wouldn't blow him in half, but it'd certainly come pretty close, and against flesh and blood at this range it'll make a shotgun look like a slingshot.

Lunaritina fires that shot.

Rynn's picked up on the glow as soon as Lunaritina neared him, and when it disappeared as the spike entered her arm, he took that as a warning. His hand tilted out to his left and Lunaritina's right slightly as he shattered the base of the spike that was connected to him, giving the spike a boost that would push Lunaritina's arm across her chest and up. This would probably throw her ducking motion off, but still, Rynn continued on. Also, as he fired off the spike, he would swing his body in the reverse direction as he had before- to his left this time, avoiding her left side as he knew the right side would probably be incapable of attacking- at least for a moment.

The portion of his aura that was being channeled towards her arm took on a new task. Rynn channeled this and the remaining portion of his aura into the spike that was now embedded in Lunaritina's arm, dropping the temperature of the spike to a staggering -210 degrees Celsius, a superconductor temperature. This meant that electricity could flow through the spike without ever waning in strength. Of course, at least one part of the spike was touching the electric field around Lunaritina, and when the field would activate, Lunaritina would shock herself thoroughly, as her author had described would happen to Rynn. This was a bigger problem for Lunaritina because she would probably never be able to deactivate the electricity and the electricity would never cease, since the spike acted like a cork.

Rynn's aura also now began feeding off Lunaritina's thrusters. If she had an HUD, she wouldn't be notified of anything going wrong, simply because Rynn was just absorbing some of the heat she was putting out. No effect on the actual thrusters.

As for Rynn's right hand, the spike had already been fired. There was nothing he could do except for quickly recoil his arm back to his right side and low, and when Lunaritina would duck down, if she was still able, he would fire another ice spike, this time at her gut, or head, depending on whether she was able to duck or not. If nothing previous to this affected her at all, she would have ample time to become aware that she was about to be impaled with another spike.

Rynn remained aware and on his toes as his body continued to swing to the left in a circular fashion around Lunaritina.

Up in the stands, a tall figure stood, about 6'10", wrapped in dark robes that hide his entire body, his face hidden in the shadows of the hood. The robe was currectly colored black. The figure was known as Strages Formator, his true name never told to anyone.

Strages listened to the viscious cries of the crowd, hearing every words, every cry, hearing every woman who gasped and covered their eyes. The combined stench of alcohol, blood, sweat, and oddly, sex in the stands filled his nose, making his face twist it nearly overcame him for a moment, his highly enhanced senses sensing it almost too well. The smells stopped after a moment as his nose adapted to them, although the thick humidity of evaporated sweat and beer was felt with each breath.

Under the hood, something seemed to move across his face like a snake, the sound of steel clinking on steel sounding. Already several people had moved away from him, his height and presence a rather uncomfortable one. He listened and watched the battle, wondering if Rynn was worth the time to fight. He had no doubt Lunaritina would be a very good fight, but Rynn had yet to do anything that he couldn't counter. Tempatures were a rather uncommon use of attack, but far from difficult to counter.

He was going to say something to a man who was bothering a woman in the row infront of him, but let it be for now. Not that he really cared, but the drunkeness of the man sickened Strages.

In the meantime, he simply enjoyed the match, waiting to see something interesting happen...Or at least, something more interesting...He was rooting for Lunaritina, but he wouldn't cheer like a idiot for anyone...

As Lunaritina's right arm is pushed back and out of the way, her left buster/hand reforms and changes shape again, an energy saber (I really don't want to have to go into technical details of this s**t but simple cold won't make it ineffective, it's not just a torchsaber) extending 2.5 feet from it as she swings her arm left, right along Rynn's path, and she fluidly begins to rise back toward a standing position as she does so. This will also take care of his second ice spike since he fired it low, as her saber will most likely intersect its path (and probably take off his hand too in the process of slicing him in half at the waist).

Lunaritina's thrusters are currently inactive, so the total energy he will gain from them this post is nil.

Of course, the temperature hadn't really been dropped to -210 degrees Celsius. That was just a wee bit....ridiculous. ninja So, the superconductor part of the last post was nullified. Rather, when Rynn channeled most of his energy into the arm/spike, it dropped to a still very cold -50 degrees Celsius.

Current Aura Temp.(around Rynn): -10 Degrees Celsius.

Rather than becoming sushi, Rynn pushes off as hard as he can with his feet(which never left 4 inches of the ground at any time) and jumps backwards about 10 feet. (There was no push with the hand as he fired the spike, so he's not committed anywhere)

Lunaritina's partially frozen right arm would begin spreading up her arm and into her torso, though this would take time. She didn't have to worry for now- she would later.

Rynn eagerly awaits his opponent, though his guard was never dropped.

Lunaritina's pigtails are suddenly pulled into her helmet, and a ponytail is ejected from the back of her helmet approximately 1.4 seconds later (though the visible hair is now black, rather than the brown color it previously held). Her armor also changes color in approximately half that time, darkening to a shiny black. Minor changes in appearance occur as well, most notably a thickening of the arms and various decorative-looking extensions and growths (most of insignificant size) appearing on various parts of her body (especially her upper arms, back, and legs). The air around her briefly shimmers, and Rynn loses his direct control over the air around Lunaritina; depending on its nature, his aura would be either cut off from him or pushed out of her personal space. The ice spike still in her arm begins to melt much faster than normal (although the accelerated melting is taking place mostly inside her arm and thus not immediately apparent to Rynn).

Her left hand changes shape again, once more to a buster-like shape, with two straight rods extending 1.5 feet from the end of the buster and a much larger buster design than the last (consuming her arm up to the elbow); it takes only a slight adjustment in aim to point it directly at Rynn.

Nifty.

Rynn frowned upon the transformation, and when the gun was completed he would take action. First off, to avoid being shot, he launched a single ice shard from his hand at Lunaritina(specifically chest). While he had extended the hand to do this, he bent his knees and began leaning left as if to run ot the left.

Then he applied all the force he could muster and kicked off to the right with his left foot. A juke. XD Rynn's speed would allow him to escape any slightly off shot and his feet never left 3 inches of the ground. As soon as he started running right he would begin raising an ice wall ahead of him to guard his flank, the timing of wall creation perfect enough for him to be fully obscured from sight when he reached the wall. Then, spurratically he would raise an ice wall in front of himself and leap towards it, planting both feet on it, then kicking off with all the speed he could to swiftly reverse direction.

His path would begin to weave closer to Lunaritina until he could pretty much joust over his own wall to be right on top of her, but that was still to come.

Any walls that he wasn't using he would immediately either move them to a position to guard him from view or send it speedily towards Lunaritina.

Allowed to last long enough, both participants might find themself in a maze of moving walls.
