Back in the day, a few years ago xD, when I was into Pokemon, I'd spend all my money on booster packs. I easily spent over $300 on cards. And then my mom sold my entire collection for $12 at a garage sale ;-----;

I use my card (seldom) but my dad has bought a lot of cards but he never uses them. I don't get him doing something like that. sweatdrop

Untamed Toast Well your dad seems cool wink My parents don't understand the value of cards -_- lol My dad is an old skool geek. He plays video games with me too. And he's probably coming to the anime con with me like he did last year. Most people "grow out" of things but some "grow into" things. I think we're both some of the latter. But it is a little bad at times. Occasionally he buys stuff that neither of us uses...thanks to that. sweatdrop

I have to confess that my house is riddled with Star Trek CCG (First Edition, mind you) cards. I practically have the entire collection (including many a super-rare card) and an incredible load of double cards that I'll never get rid of unless I burn them all. I'm a geek like that. sweatdrop
Cost a pretty penny too, but me and my two best friends at the moment played it religiously. I got pretty good at it. mrgreen Now I just keep them around for collecting purposes.

I'm into Magic:The Gathering myself among others. Like other card games some of the rarer cards go up in value but you can also get rich by just playing the game if you're really good(I'm not). Some of those big tournaments pay the winner pretty well.
Other card games I like(d):
Pokemon- But after Wizards stopped making them & everything went to just Nintendo the newer expansions have been pretty corny.
Duel Masters- One of these days I'll find an opponent & play the game...
Digimon- Not really all that fun...But I liked collecting my fav digimon
Z-G- Bet you guys never heard of it. Was a card game that used action figures as well. The art & feel was in an anime style but the game never made it past its starting series before the company went bust.
Anyone ever play the Dragon Booster CCG?

Pretty sure I have all my cards since I'm too much of a packrat to toss them away. Kinda feel bad for my friend. He had 2 Charazards back when they were worth $500 during the height of the Pokemon CCG craze. Their value dropped rapidly when Yu-Gi-Oh caught on.

I've never had any interest in card games such as Yugioh and what not. I once played Magic:The gathering back in highschool...I had someone lend me their cards and guide me as to how to play it...I wound up winning, how I did that I have no idea.
Money is tight for me as it is, I could think of a dozen other things that 30 bucks could buy, but then again I'm a mommy and I think about responsibility before fun, heh.
