It was about time she start venturing out, even if it wasn't much. Mosi had spent her entire life within the borders of the Pridelands, surprisingly enough given what a wild child she was. It was, perhaps, the one thing that she had done to make her parent's life easier. Since she'd begun to grow, however, Mosi began to recognize a restless streak within her, and finally, today, could surpress it no more.
She really only wanted to venture a little ways beyond the border, nothing more. That's how she ended up wandering behind Pride Rock, slowly winding between the sunning-rocks, further into less lively looking lands. There was a different feel to it in general, or maybe that was just her? Her senses had heightened a little once she was beyond the border though, of that she was sure. She didn't ignore the feeling, and instead became alert to what they were telling her. Her parents never had an exceedingly exciting stories about rogue life (a blessing, really, or she probably would've run off to experience it for herself right away.), but it felt more dangerous out here.
Better to be alert and alive than relaxed and dead.

The fearsome hunter stalked through the savannah grass, his scarlet eyes focused upon his prey. His moves were smooth and precise and he made almost no noise, his muscles flexing under his coat. Then, when he was close enough to the female, he pounced, his claws popping out and fangs bared.
In reality, the "fearsome hunter" was a tiny cub, barely old enough to be away from his mother's side. His fur was more shaggy than most cubs his age, especially concentrated on his elbows, where small tufts of fur protruded. He let out a cublike "roar" as he collided with Mosi's paw. He immediately began to gnaw on her toes, growling pleasurably, as though he had just caught the tastiest of prey.
Not the most polite of introductions, but he didn't really have anything to teach him otherwise.

She got that prickling down the back of her neck again. It's not like she needed her seer powers to tell he was coming though, he moved like an absolute rookie. She would've heard him coming even if there'd been someone else around TO distract her. None the less she didn't very much enjoy being pounced on and having her toes chewed! D:
"OW! Hey, what the f*** are you doing??" She growled, jerking her paw back out of the cub's mouth. Those milking teeth hurt! What the hell kind of kid went around chewing people?! She fixed the boy with an unappreciative glower, shaking out her paw and keeping a small bit of distance. "You don't go around BITING random people! What's wrong with you?" D<

Cam stared at her with wide red eyes. "Wha'?" he asked incredulously. "I was jus' practicin' my huntin' skills!" He frowned, looking up at Mosi, his tail flicking irritably. "Mama said I shoul' go out an' do somethin' useful, so I was huntin'! But then you had ta go and be mean about it!"
He tilted his head before smiling as if nothing had happened. "M'names Cam!" he said brightly, forgetting about her anger, even though it was still obvious on her face. "Wha's yours?"

Mosi looked irritated for a few moments longer, anger lingering stubbornly on her features. How old was this kid? He looked like he was still drinking milk, for cripes sake.
"Cam.... Right." She muttered, not all that angry anymore now that her surprise was gone. "It's Mosi." She responded flatly, glancing around with her father's caution. This little one's mother was probably around somewhere, and Mosi didn't want to get herself in trouble with any pissy parents. "Shouldn't you be with your mother, Cam?"

The little cub positively beamed, thinking he had just made a new friend. "Mosi's a pretty name!" he said brightly, grinning. "Oh... Mama?" His expression fell and he looked to his paws. "She's busy with m'brother, teachin' him stuff. She doesn't care what I do, s'long as I get home before the sun goes down!"
He looked up at her, frowning in thought for a moment. Finally, he grinned again and peeped, "D'you wanna play with me, Mosi? I promise I won't bite you no more!" He whisked his tail and perked his ears, looking excited at the idea, as if he never got to play with anyone.

Well, it seemed like he didn't mean any harm, which contradicted with his initial greeting. Had she been like that when she was his age? Maybe a bit, but, she certainly didn't go about biting strangers and chewing on their toes. What kind of influences did he have around him to make him do a thing like that? It just seemed a little odd, but at least it wasn't reflective of his mindset.
"Oh, play?" She sounded unsure. He was small. She couldn't remember ever playing with a cub this little, he probably wasn't even on solids yet, but...
A brow raised, Mosi didn't seem like she was going to go anywhere just yet.
"What do you want to play?"

The fact that she hadn't left seemed to lift the cub's spirits. His red eyes gleamed happily and his tail wagged like a dog's. Her question, however, seemed to stump him.
"Whaddya mean?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. "I just... wanna play!" He suddenly broke out in a smile. "Are there different kinds of play?" Cam blinked once, looking up at her innocently. It seemed almost as if the cub had never had the chance to play with anyone before, leaving him ignorant of the various games that existed.
