In the East, there are many forests of kelp and other plants. This would be considered the most peaceful area, aside from one very strange place. There is a large crevice in the bottom of the earth here, where even the plants dare not grow.

Adron lurked in between the shadows of larger pieces of kelp. Making little noise he watched a smaller pod of dolphins swim past, oblivious to his presence. Suddenly darting out he pushed himself to reach the now frightened animals. Adron's well sized fins and fluke propelled his body towards one of the lagging dolphins, seconds behind it. A large black figure dove in near him at just the wrong time and he halted to a akward stop. Trying to avoid the odd animal from above he dove down in the darker areas of the ocean's floor so not to be seen. For some odd reason every time the waters got slightly warmer all the humans came out to watch his kind, it was very odd.
“Darn it,”
He muttered swimming back to the kelp forest. The adolecents orange and red streaks weren’t odd in these waters, colorful as it was. Smaller schools of angel fish swam under and around the orca. Although they were catchable they weren’t worth the chase. Now more hungry than before Adron came to the surface to catch a breath before diving back down and swimming towards another good fishing spot. As he approached a small reef all sorts of fish large and small darted away from him. Adron launched his massive jaws at a fairly large tuna-styled fish, catching it and swallowing it down quickly.
“Yum.”
Adron said before playing around on his way back to the familiar growths of kelp.

Zumaradi, self-proclaimed queen of the ocean, swam contently about in the east ocean, paying no mind to the humans who were staring at her, or the smaller whale who was near the kelp. In fact, she payed no mind to anyone but her king, whom she ruled the ocean with.
"Tlaloc, my king, today is a beautiful day, suitable even for ourselves, wouldn't you agree?" She asked in a fond voice to the brown male with tribal markings, "Its so peaceful, there should be no need for royal duties today.""Ah yes, tis a beautiful day." replied Tlaloc, lazily swimming at her side, "Calm and quiet, none of our royal subjects to bother us with petty troubles today."
the two swam near the surface, occasionally peeking their breathing holes above the water to take in some air, before they both dived down and caught some fish in their mouths, today was so peaceful, today was perfect...

Henaya swam up from the depths; he had been scouring the ocean bottom for fish. His mottled brown skin blended perfectly with the sand, but another male was nearby. Henaya was chatting with the other whale from time to time, but usually had his snout buried in the sand searching for flounder. The other whale was black and grey in color, and a calf that slightly mimiced him swam by his side. It was Mysth and his daughter Calico, having a casual fish hunt with Mysth's calfhood friend Henaya. They were waiting for Vuli, Mysth's mate, and Kabili, Mysth's son. Mysth's other calf was no where to be seen.

Vuli swam towards her mate and her daughter, followed closely by her son, Kabili. "Ah, there you are Mysth." She said cheerily, swimming next to him and touching her fin to his affectionately, "How are you?" She asked before turning to Calico.
"And you, Calico, how is your fishing coming along?" She asked playfully, smiling at her warmly.Kabili swam a circle around his family before stopping directly in front of his father, "Hey dad!" He said rather loudly. The calf looked up to his father a lot, not only did their colors look almost identical, but he aspired to be just like him. "Dad, dad, look what I can do!" He said energetically, doing a summersault rather clumsily. "See?"-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It would seem that they had both spoken too soon, for as she looked down, there they were, actually, she had never met them, but still, they were her subjects. Ah well, it couldn't be avoided. "Hello my royal subjects, I, queen Zumaradi, do welcome you to enjoy the pleasant day we are having, even us royals are free from duties today, do have a nice stay in our kingdom." She said warmly, she was in a much better mood than usual. Oh goodie, royal subjects. Fortunately for them, he was in a good mood today, just like his queen. "Yes, king Tlaloc gives his blessings to all he meets on this fine day." He said with a smile, "It is a pleasure to see such a happy looking peasant family." he said with a chuckle.
"This one looks like the father, and this one a blend between the two of you." He said, stating the obvious, "I'm sure you both are very proud." Tlaloc remarked, looking from Mysth to Vuli.

Mysth smiled, filled with pride in his family, as he nuzzled Vuli. "I'm well, darling, very well." A deep chuckle permeated the water as Mysth watched his son somersault, tumbling in the water like a crazed manta. "Watch it there!" He joked at the young calf. "You don't want to crash into the beautiful coral! Ahaha!" He swam over to Kabili, gently nudging him away from the seabed. "Now, do it like this!" Mysth dove down slowly. Once he was at the bottom, his burst upward, joy stretching across his face. His tail was a blur as he shot out of the water, breaching magnificently, and landing with a massive splash back on the surface. The shock wave was exhilerating. "Now that, my son, was a breach!"
Calico had swam over to Vuli, practically hidden by her mother's massive fins. She had not seen her mother for hours, and that is nearly traumatic for a young calf. But now she was content, making soft clicks like purring.
Henaya decided to leave the family in peace, now that they had gotten together again. "Well, I bid you ado! Have fun breaching and tumbling, little Kabili!" he chuckled as he swam off to the south lands.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mysth turned suddenly at the sound of unfamilar voices, instintively blocking his family from any would-be danger. Seeing the two apparently love-struck whales staring at them, Mysth simply became confused. Who are these whales? What do they mean by queen Zuma-whatzit? King Tazliod? Peasants?? Mysth's confusion made him even more defensive, althought these whales seemed pleasant enough...
"Er... My name is Mysth, and my mate is Vuli," Mysth stuttered. Might as well act friendly, he decided. "The boy is my son, Kabili, and that calf there is my daughter, Caliko.... What do you want from us?" Mysth still didn't trust these strangers, these self-proclaimed royals. They were acting strange, and they were coming closer.

Vuli chuckled at Calico, "I've missed you too Calico, how have you been doing?" She asked curiously, turning slightly so that she could see her better.
"Good to hear it dear, good to hear it." Vuli said, returning the nuzzle. She loved Mysth very much, and he was such a good father too.
"Wow!" Kabili said as he watched his father breach, "Me next!!!" He bubbled, swimming as fast as he could towards the surface, breaking it and feeling the air on his skin for a moment before splashing back down. It wasn't nearly as big as his fathers, but rather good considering it was his first time. "Did I do good dad? Huh?" He asked enthusiastically, waving his fins energetically.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Such nice little peasants, it was good to see them and their young behaving nicely towards them. "Mysth, Vuli, its nice to meet you." She said simply, "Want from you? No no, we desire nothing today, especially from such busy parents. Just enjoy yourselves, such hard workers deserve it."
Tlaloc didn't like this Mysth character one bit, he didn't show them near enough respect, he had half a mind to attack him outright and put him in his place, but no, he was just protecting his family... It was only natural. Perhaps Zumaradi and himself would have calves of their own eventually.
"Such a talented little youngster." He said, looking at Kabili, "But this one seems a bit shy, are you alright there?" He asked, peering around at Calico, wanting to get a better look at her.

Mysth laughed at his little boy, who, by this age, was no longer very little. In fact, Mysth reminiced, they were adolescents now; they were no longer little calves. But you'll always be my little calves, Mysth gazed lovingly into his son's eyes. "That was beautiful, Kabili! Of course, practice will improve it greatly."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mysth's face twisted into a confused growl. What is wrong with these whales?! They're insane! They seem to understand nothing about normal life....
Calico squealed as the large brown male neared her. She fled to the other side of her mother, hiding from the stranger. Mama said to never talk to strangers! Calico was terrified of this odd couple. Why does the bull keep trying to look at me? I'm not for sale!!

"There there Calico, its alright." Vuli said comfortingly, "Please excuse her mister... Um, King Tlaloc, she's rather shy around strangers." She said embarassedly. She herself had only gotten braver since meeting Mysth, but she was still a bit shy.
King and queen? This sounded fun, "Hello your majesties! Its nice to meet you!" He said happily, swimming around exitedly. He had never met royals before.
"Sorry there little one, I don't mean to intrude." Tlaloc said, backing away from her. "There's no need to be afraid, you can come out if you like."
Zumaradi eyed the strangers carefully, the male and the younger female didn't seem to want them around, and yet the mother and the son didn't seem to mind... For the first time in a long time she was confused. "Nice to meet you too, Kabili, its always good to see such enthusiastic subjects."

"This is our territory anyway!" Mysth snarled. "Don't you know the east lands have been claimed?" Mysth was sick and tired of this couple. They were insane and had no respect for pods. But this was one of the habits of Mysth. When he was confused, he got angry, and when he got angry, well, he got violent. He fiegned a charge at Tlaloc, pulling back to prevent actually hitting him.
Calico, while shy, didn't want anyone to get hurt. "Papa, stop it!" she screamed. If whales could cry, Calico would be sobbing. "Just stop it!!"
Mysth twisted around, worried and shocked. "Calico?" he rushed over to her, attempting to soothe her. He uttered soft clicks at her, in a totally different mood from just moments ago. All that mattered now was his calf.
Calico pulled away from her father, pressing against her mother's smooth skin. She had never seen her father this way, and it terrified her. Her look of innocent fright burned into Mysth's eyes.
Mysth stared back at the calf, shocked and in awe. His heart had just shattered; his beloved daughter had opened a gaping hole in Mysth's soul. She was.... afraid of him!

"Mysth!" Vuli scolded, cuddling her daughter to herself protectively, "Its alright dear, its okay." She cooed to Calico, stroking her with a fin gently.
"... Dad?" Kabili was suddenly confused, why did his dad do that? "Dad, they didn't do anything..." He said softly, not wanting his father angry with him too.
Tlaloc didn't even flinch as Mysth charged, if he had made contact, then he would have attacked right back, but he would never attack without actual physical provocation... Not in front of calves anyways, but how dare he! How dare he challange his rule! No, it was simply unacceptable, "You show no respect for your betters, take care of you're family, but we're leaving." He said scathingly, turning and swimming away pridefully.
Zumaradi fumed. She had half a mind to attack the father herself! But that wouldn't be very ladylike... No, she'd let them be today. "The next time you see the king and queen, you ought to show more respect." She said in a tone that indicated that if she could have spat at him, she indeed would have. She turned and swam alongside her king, leaving the peasant family behind.

Mysth just floated in shock. What have I done? he despaired. What have I done?? "I... I...,"he could find no words to explain himself. "I was confused... I-I... they were...," Mysth felt as if he had created a rift between his beloved family. The shock in her mate's voice; the terror in the eyes of his daughter; the confusion flooding the face of his son; he couldn't bear it. This was a terrible way to act in front of his family. "I'm... I'm so sorry..." If only I could turn back time! If only I could change this! But Mysth knew this was beyond impossible. What a way to start a pod... Although Mysth was the male alpha for the Akina pod, he knew he must make amends with the strangers. If they wanted to be king and queen of the sea, fine. He would deal with territory later.
Mysth rushed over to the couple, worried he had offended them. Well of course I've offended them..., Mysth fretted. "Ah... Your Highnesses!" he called after them. "I... I'm so sorry if I have offended you! I don't know what came over me! Please forgive me!" The words tumbled out of his mouth, uncontrolled. He knew he had shamed himself terribly, but he didn't have any words to describe his disappointment with himself.

Kabili, along with his mother, floated and watched their father as he went to apologize to the royals. He was still confused, but it was good to see his father doing the right thing.
Tlaloc smiled smugly before facing his 'subject', it was good of him to admit his mistake. "Very well, I see honesty in your eyes, you are truly sorry for what you have done." Tlaloc said, displaying some of his wisdom, "I forgive you, but see to it that it doesn't happen again."
Zumaradi almost didn't want to forgive him, but if Tlaloc would, she would. "Yes, you are forgiven this time, but it seems that your family is upset, perhaps you should talk to them." She said, "But we really should be going, it is time to move on for us, perhaps we will meet again." She said as the pair of them swam off into the distance for good.
((Thats the end of Zuma and Tlaloc for now, they're RPed out for the moment xd ))

Mysth sighed, relieved. He was glad that was over with. But now to attend to my family..., Mysth swam back over to them. "Vuli," he began, but stopped to go to the surface for a breath. He needed to calm down, and then returned to her. "Vuli, I'm terribly sorry for disgracing our family." He rolled the words on his tongue, trying to find the right thing to say. "I hope you will forgive my behavior." He blinked slowly at her, and rubbed his muzzle against hers. Mysth then turned toward Calico, who had crept forward slightly, not hiding so much from her father. "I never meant to scare you, my young calf. I love you so much, and I don't want you to be afraid of me." He then nuzzled her in turn. Lastly Mysth swam over to Kabili. "Kabili, my son," Mysth began, patting him gently. "One day you will be the alpha male of our Akina pod. You will be greatly repected and feared, but not for the reason I have shown you. I have set a terrible example for you, and I never want you to act that way unless you are totally sure the opposer is a threat. Forgive me for my actions." Mysth had nothing he could say to his son. He was so proud of him; of how he had grown; of how intuitive he was. His eyes reflected his love for his son, then for the rest of his family as he turned to face them.

Vuli listened to his words and smiled gently, "Its okay Mysth. You were only trying to protect us, I forgive you." She said, nuzzling him gently as well. She couldn't stay mad at him if she tried, it just wasn't in her nature, and besides, he WAS trying to do the right thing.
"Okay dad, I promise to be a good leader someday." He said with a smile, swimming up next to his father, glad he wasn't angry anymore. "I'm happy that you're my dad." He said with a happy sigh. He loved his family... He loved them very much.
