It was a quiet, warm day across the pridelands, with little Kiasi slowly being drug down into the grasp of boredom. Her little mind danced with schemes, though all her siblings were busy playing amongst themselves - there was no room for girls in their stupid little games of mud and dirt.
With a sigh, she trod slowly from her group, her tiny little paws leaving prints in the dust of the ground beneath her until she found a rock to leap upon - scrambling up on top of the tall boulder that loomed above her. Once atop, she gazed around, amused at her knew height - true, it was much shorter than her parents or even her eldest brother, but from here she felt like a queen.
"Ew," she muttered to herself as she happened to glance down, eyes narrowing unkindly on a little beetle scuttling up the rough surface of her knew kingdom. She poked at it with a paw, her nose scrunched up in obvious disgust, until she finally flicked it off with a wicked grin.
This was her rock, thanks.

It was perhaps hard to imagine, but the golden adolescent had matured. He was still paranoid and had the most irrational fears, but he was slowly becoming more social, and was loving and protective towards his new siblings.
His stutter was still apparent, however, though he was trying desperately to rid his voice of its quavers. He remembered his mother telling him how hers had simply vanished when she'd gained confidence, Mbaris stutter however seemed to have stuck.
He was currently in awe, he remembered the birth of his siblings and already they were growing and playing. It was wonderful to see his family blossom, especially since it had once been somewhat broken. It was more than Mbari could ask for, to have a father and to see his mother happy.
So it was on this calm day that the male began a slow stroll, topaz eyes searching for another creature so he could begin to socialize once more. He suddenly spotted a light brown figure upon a rock, the small form of his sister. He approached with a smile. His family were the few lions he was at ease around, and he moved foward to nuzzle Kiasi lightly. "Hello Sis."

Kiasi never actually seemed even the slightest bit surprised when someone came up upon her - not even if she had been caught entirely off guard. She had trained herself to listen, even in her partial awareness, for the sound of crushing grass and the gentle but noticeable swish of moving limbs. So, as her brother met her form upon the rock - still taller than her, even with the added height more than doubling her own - she only found a smile to meet his eyes.
"Hallo," she purred out, returning his nuzzle with affection - she much preferred the attention of elder lions, specifically her brother, mother, and father. She was spoiled, and would be the first to outwardly admit to such.
"Why are you out walking around alone, Mbari?" her voice was gentle, sweet, enough to coax any cold hearted lion into a sudden adoration for her. Her little tail flickered, and she gently reached out a paw to put on his nose, a smile lingering on her maw - enough to light her gentle eyes.
Cute little gestures could go a long way.

Mbari was especially fond of his sister, though favouritism was not evident in his family, it was obvious Kiasi would be very protected. She was the only girl in two litters.
"O-oh..." He thought for a moment, he wasn't doing anything more than usual, or anything less for that matter. "I-i don't know, I'm just walking, looking f-for someone to talk to, or something." His voice trailed off, his topaz eyes sliding across the scenery in a paranoid fashion, limbs tense.
"A-and what are you doing here, Kiasi?" He purred, putting his large golden paw on her tiny one.

Kiasi purred silently to herself for a moment, taking the time to nuzzle her small forehead against the bright fur of her eldest brother. She showed affection when there was someone worth showing it to - but that usually only consisted of her mother and her father, and her darling older brother of course.
She listened patiently through his stutters, more patient with him than she would have been with anyone else. Perhaps it was just the gentle notion that he cared, and that he would protect her if she should ever come into a point that she would need protecting.
"I'm out here because our brothers are being idiots," she muttered, a soft huff in her chest, tail flickering rather wickedly back and forth. "All they do is fight and play," she said, bringing her head high, "and girls aren't supposed to fight and roll around in the dirt. So I'm out here, all by myself," she purred.
That's when she grinned, that sweet smile stretching across her maw and lighting up her eyes, "you could take me somewhere, couldn't you Mbari? Somewhere pretty?" The big eyes, blue and gentle, filled with that cuteness only produced by cubs.
Ah, such a little star.
