Jini wasn't really the type to go on adventures. His mother and sister always seemed to want them, look for them even, but he was normally content where he was. So he surprised even himself when he went to explore the borders of the pridelands more carefully. As a cub he hadn't really seen much of them and what better time to explore? As a cub everything had been bigger then he was...now with his longer legs and growing mane he had a little more confidence in himself. A little.

His strides were long and careful and he moved without the grace of someone who seemed to know what they were doing. He was clumsy, in a cute by dorky way, and luckily for him in a place like this it was no hinderence. He paused as a hare darted out of sight and cocked his head slightly. Shifting his green eyes he shook his head and moved on.

Isi trotted on relentlessly, not feeling a twinge of exhaustion, even though she had been traveling for a day straight, no breaks. She loved adventures! They were so fun! The lioness was almost sad she was heading to the Pridelands. Her goal was to settle down, have some stability with her life. Her hunger had been fed with a rabbit, that had a broken leg. Or something.

Now where was she? The lioness pondered what Phib had said, and realized that she should get there very, very soon. Her surroundings were starting to change, from dry, almost plantless desert, to dry grass beneath her feet, and trees popping up more then they had.

Unbeknownst to her, she had indeed just barely entered the Pridelands, right next to the borders.

Jini paused again, his steps slowing and becoming more hesitant. The wind had just brought him a scent he didn't recognize...a scent of a lioness just coming over the border. At once his shy, sensative nature plagued him. He loved people, actually, but always felt so stupid around them, like he was always making mistakes or doing something wrong. And most of his worries were always self-inflicted and pointless. Nervously, he turned his casual lope to meet up with this newcomer. His insides twisted with happy excitement and then nervous dismay. But he seemed to be, in his own way, determined to meet someone new and perhaps make a friend. Sometimes he wished he could be as bold as his mother and sister, who could say anything without a care in the world.

Isi paused, and sniffed the air. She could smell someone! Maybe a lion to put on her friend list? The lioness wiggled with delight, and bounded in the lion's direction. "Hello!" Isi cried out, spotting a small running blob. "Hello!" She called out again, skidding to a stop as she neared him. The lioness grinned sheepishly at him, breathing heavily. "Hi!" She said, panting.
Was she supposed to ask something? Oh yeah. Wait.. better wait for him to get a bit closer. Yeah.. Her pelt was a bit dusty, but her purple shoulder marking still stood out against her black coat. The lioness flipped her little floof bangmane, and waved a paw to the approaching lion, incase he hadn't heard her yells.

Jini was surprised by the lioness's enthusiasm...but encouraged by it as well. Any positive feed back while nervous was welcome indeed. He was able to offer a full smile, while not completely confident, it was far from being forced or shy. It was genuinely happy. The twists in his stomach became dominated by excitement rather then uncertainty and he increased his stride so he no longer seemed to be crawling along at a sluggish, reluctant walk. He had heard her calls, but waited to return them with his own words until he drew nearer. Finally he said with a tinge of shyness, "H-hi!" He felt a lapse of his mind's focuse, or he would have offered his name out of politeness.

Isi grinned and bounced in place. "Hihi!" Nice lion he was! "I'm Isi! Is this the Pridelands?" She tried to contain her exitement, barely holding it in. The lioness wiggled and a huge, toothy smile filled her face. Maybe he din' know what the Pridelands was? She quickly added, "You know.. the big peice of land with the big rock and the Lion that rules.. Mufusu? Mafsu? I dunno. But anway.." It was hard to beleive Isi was an adult, she could be such a cubbin.

Jini felt himself relax. How could anyone be uptight with someone like her? She was too full of energy...and didn't seem to be the type to judge you on any grounds. "Ah...! It's very nice to meet you, Isi!" He offered her a smile, having to tilt his head slightly to get his black and white hair out of his face. He still wasn't used to this whole mane thing yet. He glanced of his shoulder slightly to glance at the lush land behind him. "Uh...well...this is the pridelands!" he told her helpfully, his eyes sparkling with a genuine hopeful nature.

Isi purred loudly, and hopped from foot to foot. "Nice to meet you to, Er..." Her cheerful temper stopped for a moment, as she tried to remember if the lion had said his name or not. "Did I catch your name? Or did I miss it?" The lioness tilted her head, before grinnng cheerfully again. "This IS the Pridelands?" Isi's eyes lit up with joy, and she bounced up happily, before settling into a sitting postition. "Thats gret! I'm finally here!" Her tail was wiggling with delight, and she couldn't hold it in anylonger. She let out a whoop of delight, and a purr as load as a motorcylce filled her throat as her grin seemed to fill her entire face.

Jini flushed under his fur for being so stupid as to forget to give his name. But even that couldn't chase the smile that was also on her face. Her joy was like a bug...he had caught it too. Maybe not in such a force as she had, but it was there none the less. He smiled apollogetically, "Oh...sorry! I'm Jini..." he nodded his head only to get his green eyes covered with his mane again. Ah well...you couldn't always win, could you?

"So you came to stay here?" He questioned, sounding curious. His home was getting so crowded lately. He wasn't able to keep track of anyone...and he hadn't been able to before due to his shy nature, so now think of it!

Isi stopped wiggling, yet that stupid grin still occupied her face. "Jini.. Jini! Thats a nice name! Pleasure to meet you!" She said, not remembering she had already said it. The lioness watched his mane quietly, admiring the white stripes. Why couldn't lionesses have pretty manes? Hmmph. But anyway.. back to her new friend! "Yes! I came to stay! If they let me, of course." She added the last sentence quickly, blushing slightly under her dark fur. "Are there alot of lions and stuff here? I like cubs, and stuff, too. The play one good game of tag!"

Jini couldn't help but notice her eyes on his newly forming mane and he felt a little sheepish. He was still a little sensative about it, since he wasnt' used to it himself and he hoped she wasn't looking because she thought he looked ridiculous. He smiled in his soft, silly way, his eyes closing slightly as he did so, "Ah...thank you! And...I'm sure they'll let you stay. Almost everyone is welcome here and...um...yes...there are a lot of other lions here! Many are coming from other places, like you...and...there have been a lot of cubs lately too...so plenty of kids and games..." He nodded his head a little.

Isi grinned and scrathed her ear with a hind paw. The lions were nice here, too! Jini would grow up to have a wonderful mane, she was sure! Her grin strecthed across her face. "Alot of cubs? Awesome!" A look of confusion crossed her face for a moment, before she asked, "Well.. do I have to sign up or something? I heard they all live on a big pointy rock," A look of amusement was glued to the lioness's face. "Is it true?"

Jini gave a more open smile, beginning to relax a little. There was really nothing about this lioness that made him feel ill-at ease. And once more, she didn't make him feel stupid or clumsy, which was normally the case. "Ah...no. We don't all live there. My family lives in a den not far from it instead. And you just have to talk to the king and queen to join...they'd probably be more then happy to have you, though," His voice was soft but it was starting to get a cheery note to it instead of a sheepish meeky one.

Isi raised an eyebrow. "But.. alot live there? Wow.." The lioness was amazed that lions could spend thier life on a rock. Maybe it was neat to play on, though? She pondered the thought for a moment. "The king and the queen? Uhmm.. Do you have any idea where I could find them?" Isi grinned, hoping to talk to these two lions with high status after this. "Neat! I could like, take care of cubs or something." She nodded, having heard that pridemembers had to do stuff for thier pride. Again, the lioness added the now very obvious fact, "I like cubs."

"They'd probably be at pride rock..." Jini said thoughtfully, his white ears twitching a little. He had never seen the king or queen except at a distance. Mother had said she and his father had met the queen when they had joined but....there were so many people living here it was impossible to see, meet, and know everyone. "Ah...I'm sure plenty of people would let you watch there cubs. There are so many all over the place!" He continued to smile, feeling almost like Isi was an old friend or something. It was a nice feeling. He had to admit he rather liked cubs too...he was far more comfortable with them then a lot of adults and he did have fun with them when he could.
