Dumu's face was masked in a face of irritation. "Blah blah blah Stay close, Dumu. blah blah blah." he muttered, mimicking his mother's lectures to have him nearby and in her sights. Their family was rogue, so that meant wanderers, so why restrain his natural need to wander? Big whoop, he was a cub, so what he was a spawn of a God. He can fend for himself.

His dark fur did nothing for him during the day. The beating sun and the colors of teh surrounding were horrible for him. If it was not for his abilities as a seer, he could never get by. Usually, he would stay up to avoid his awkward dreams that make him wake in a cold sweat. Now he just wanted to enjoy the day.

"SOMETHING HAPPEN ALREADY!" the God spawn shouted, birds startled and scattering about into the sky.

Umo padded slowly and surely; his dark paws tight against the ground as the creatures of prey came closer into sights. His crimson eyes focused on the four legged beasts, with hooves sharp as snake teeth and ears as senstive as Umo's very own Whiskers. His shoulders rolled slowly as he stalked, his tail low; his body low; his hopes high. He had not practiced his hunting in such a long time; he had been eatting frogs along side his mate. Now was the time for a true meal, a meal for his family. Stepping lightly, his senses flaring he moved in to attack; only too have the shout of someone frighten both him and the zebra. He balked, watching the striped meals dash away; as Umo did not even try to chase them down. He knew he couldn't. Looking around sternly for the creature that dare interupt his hunting; an odd colored cub came into view not far away.

His soft heart gave in and he found himself not to angry anymore; just annoyed. sitting down; he looked over and spoke in his monotone voice. "Well, if you would do something more smart for your part, something might. Shouting aloud to oneself can cause hazards... for both you and others young one." He said, his voice deep and flat.

Dumu's fur bristled then his body jerked about into an offense. His hackles raised, body low, snarling. Who was this? Another lion to bother him. The light from the sun flicked down on them now and again, broke rays due to passing clouds. The cub's dark red fur had collected the heat from his small walk. Violet eyes narrowing on the dark male before him.

"What does it matter what I do? If I want to shout, I will shout. If I didn't then I would not have to." he snarled. "Now, if you would please not lecture me I would appreciate it, Umo." he added. Umo? It would seem his abilities has worked it's way into him again. Often times he would know something without actually having to know it, speaking the stranger's name was a quicky vision of the future when the lion must've gave his name, perhaps? "What is your name?"

Umo watched the cubs reaction and blinked slowly. Then his name was spoken and he stood quickly. He had not said his name. He looked about. "You just spoke my name." He said down to the small cub with a cocked head. Perhaps Umo had said his name already. He shook his head, sitting down again. After seeing that God, he was ready to believe anything. "Erm, It is Umo. Umo of the Kusini Mwenzi." He said, blinking. "And you are?

"Umo?" Dumu questioned, did he speak his name? He had to get hold of his seer powers and put them to a better use than finding other's names. Blah, he just got to get a hold of them. "Umo of the Kusini Mwenzi pride, huh? I should go there when I am older."

"My name is Yadumugandama, rogue of these parts." he replied, he was still a cub but tried to act mature...sort of. "Now, what was wrong with my shouting?"

Umo watched the young cub, curious of his eye marking and the way he spoke. He sniffed the air and looked about, to see if perhaps someone was around other than this cub, perhaps someone he knew. Blinking; he shook his head. "I suppose. I am very picky about my prides and found the Kusini very pleasing." He said, crossing his paws and laying down; now longer angry at hte this cub for loosing his meal.

"Long name you have... any way. I was hunting when you shouted. In a way it was not wrong, just at the wrong time!" He said with a slight smile.

Dumu smirked, "I wander with my brother and parents. We tend to run around a lot, mostly following my father." unbeknownst to the male was that his father flew as he was a God. Dumu had to get a better grip on his powers or else he'll blurt something out again.

"Thank you, I like my name, however to save you to trouble of saying it call me Dumu or Ed if you like. Dumu more preferable." The red furred cub shrugged and sat down. "Then forgive me for my shouting, if I knew then I would not have." Did he just contradict his last statement? "Would you like to continue hunting? I would not mind helping a bit."

Umo nodded. He seemed to meeet a lot of wanderers or... were they called rouges. Yes, that is it. He sniffed the air, looking to Dumu. Blinking crimson eyes he spoke again. "I will call you Dumu. I prefere short names. That is why I chose my name." He said with a smile. "Easier to remember" He added, reaching foreward with a paw to stretch. He had been so still while he was stalking his shoulders hurt. "That is alright. I am done hunting for now."

"So, not to be rude or anything but you have very unusual markings? Family trait?

The cub smiled, "Dumu it is. True, I do perfer short names, I like Umo as well." The lion got up to stretch out his body just as Umo had, he had been sitting for a while now and so he had to keep himself flexible for any occassion. "Alright, sorry for spoiling your hunt, Umo."

"My markings?" the cub asked. "Yeah, I got them from my father...." the Eye of Horus was his father's, he was just the one to adopt it. Every now and again, in the switching light it would seem to look as if it was blinking.

Um nodded in agreeance, though he found that he marking on this cubs face was... familiar. He blinked quietly, remembering the god he had seen a while ago. The very eye that had been on the gods cloth, over his eyes. Umo shook his; perhaps it was just a fluke. "I see. Well, you got many good things from your father then. You are a very polite fellow." He said, since Umo knew alot about fatherhood. Happily though.

Umo could not help but notice the eye on the boys forehead. He wondered if it was really blinking.

Umo was being nice to him even after what he said. He had to apologize again if it was completely necessary. Dumu rubbed his forhead, the Eye of Horus, and what he thought was an object of annoyance and attention attraction. He often felt that others rathered stare at it then talk to him, the bearer. Looking up and watching the male stare at the mark Dumu scowled.

"Umo, do you have to stare at it? Is it /that/ intresting?" he asked, more of a playful aggitated tone. Dumu stood up to stretch again and yawned, yipping off. "Umo, why are you staring at my mark? Does it remind you of someone?" Dumu was wishing he had a quick vision of the future to know why, but it didn't happen so he asked.

Settling himself down again, he groomed his paw. Umo was a father so he must've know what it was like to have a son. However, did he know how others felt about staring? Not a major thing for the cub, it just simply annoyed him when lions did it rather him. Selfish or just ignored? "Umo?"
PostPosted: Fri Sep 08, 2006 11:56 am

Umo felt ashamed for a moment for staring at Dumu's mark. It was not polite to stare or to mock or to do anything disresepectful. He shook his gaze away, his tail falling flat. "I am sorry Dumu. It is very familiar to me... I met someone once with that mark. The same odd eye." he said flatly. "But that is no excuse for me to stare. I am sorry, that was very rude of me" He added, reaching over to knudge Dumu lightly with his paw. Not to be mean or annoying, but just a knudge of appology.

Umo sensed that Dumu had taken intrest when Umo said he was a father. "I have a daughter and an adoptive son." He said, closing his eyes in a smile. He was very proud of his daughter and son. "I have a mate, back in the swamp lands as well." he also added.

"The only one that I can remember with this" Dumu replied, pointing to his forhead, "is my father, Athrun." when Umo nudged him, it made his giggle before falling over. Dumu got back up and smiled happily, it was an apology nudge. He had to get over the fact that he was going to be stared at for the rest of his life, not matter how much he hated it and saw it as disrespectful. Dumu sighed and nuzzled into Umo's fur softly.

"Don't worry about it, Umo. I guess I am just a bit sensitive about it, y'know?" it was rhetorical. He stared up with violet eyes before they closed for a wide smile.

The rogue's ears perked with the mention of "adoptive son", what did it mean? Was it he a cubnapper like Azra told him about? He was told of lions who took cubs and made them their own and then if they spend a lot of time away, they soon see the cubnapper as their parent and forget about their biological ones. Dumu shivered a little under Umo before speaking

"Umo....you didn't take him...did you?"
PostPosted: Fri Sep 08, 2006 12:39 pm

Umo nodded his head excitedly. He hadn't been going insane when he saw that God. That Athrun! He Looked down to Dumu. "Yes, that was him presisely. I did not know that... gods could have children. I suppsoe it must be true then, because that is the very mark on his... eye area." he said, motioning around his face with a paw. "I thought it was a dream that I met that fellow but it must not have been. If you are his son." He said almost amazed like. He could not image being the child of a god. What a wonderful thing.

Umo looked down at Dumu and saw his changed expression. He was confused for a moment; before he shook his head easily. "Oh-no. No, I found him when he was young and took him in. I am his second adoptive father apparently." He said, looking down at Dumu. "I am not of that kind of lion. I could never do that, of late. "I took him in and he grew up and left. Like all lion cubs should do eventually." He said with a comforting smile. "And If I were to meet a lion who did such a thing as steal a cub, I just might loose my temper!" He said with a chuckle, tapping his forehead lightly with a claw.

The lioness had it almost up to here with having her son wandering away from her. Athrun entrusted the cub under her care as she did with Akiiki to him. But what can she do, she and her family were wanderers it was what they do. Dumu wandered, it was his nature. She smiled, her son defiantly had something from her other than her eyes. However, what made the mother worry most was who the cub was bothering this time.

Off in the distance, she spotted the dark furred lion cub with another lion. Great.

"Dumu dear, come here." she spoke in a soft voice, calling out to him. Dumu nodded and padded to her. Nuzzling him before scolding him in a whisper. "Dumu, you know better not to bother other lions." he only smiled.

Turning her attention to the other male and automatically knew to apologize, perhaps it was the polite thing to do or it was simply habit. "Forgive my son, stranger, he has a habit of wandering from my side. I hope he has not bothered you too much." she dipped her head bowing. She has changed a lot. From her old death-seeker ways to a caring mother and a loving mate. Perhaps it was just Athrun or was it everything. Maybe her outlook on life was truely altered by those who she met.

"Mom? That's Umo, he said he met father and stuff about him not being able to have cubs." Dumu simply smiled, not totally aware of what he was saying, no matter how blunt.

Azra nuzzled him softly and licked his fur, "Thank you for the detail, Yadumu." the mother purred. "My name is Azraceri, mate to Athrun, God of Loneliness, and the mother of this bundle of....love here." she spoke, smiling to the male.

"I, too, believed that those of high diety cannot produced cubs. I was in heat and wanted to be with someone to avoid getting into this situation. I guess I fell for the brute and things got out of hand." she chuckled softly, "I guess this is what I get for wanting to get my heat over with and not thinking of the reprecutions. I guess they could produce cubs, and he is proof." Dumu smiled and nuzzled into her. "Forgive me, I rambled."
