I am a big fan of Invader Zim. And I seem to see that I am stereotyped as a goth in my school by all the retarded people. I have nothing wrong with goths. But has anyone else noticed that Zim is stereotyped as a goth show?

i know i hate it when people stereotype zim fans as goths. i'm not goth (i love the color black but i'm not goth) and invader zim is my obsession

I've never noticed that. Actualy the closest I've come to noticing that is when my dad was talking about a time, before I as born stare , that he went to get a book signed by Johnas Vasquez and he mentioned to me that there were a lot of goth people there in the line with him.... or maybe the time when he was talking about how JTHM was origionaly made to make fun of goths, but then they ended up likeing it.

I dont know it was one of those times... but the point is that at my school at least, I have never seen this steriotype...

I think Invader Zim does have a bit of a goth feeling to it...

My mum doesn't really care about what I am...I'm her daughter and that counts...My sister on the other hand is like *Glares* OMG DON'T WEAR THAT, YOU LOOK SOO GOTH AND CRAPPY!!!

But I agree with izfreek, I like black and I'm not goth...I do have clothes that are not black in my wardrobe...

Jhonen's work are more like a parody on stereotyping goth.

Everyone think JTHM is goth and a lot of goth people buys it because of that... only to actually open it up, read it and realize it has nothing to do with goth at all - except making fun of the whole thing.

When I see the whole "darkness is cool", "killing is fun" et.c I see that as HUMOUR, not as "omgods this is so goth!!1oen". The show and the comics don't apply to a certain group like "goths" it applies to a certain sense of humour :/

I'm not goth, but I do buy my clothes at alternative stores because I don't like going out and seeing the same shirts I have... heck, I even wear buckled belt shoes and my hair is pink. I'm just an attention whore
