What up everybody? Welcome to the Stone Sour and Murderdolls thread. This thread is solely dedicated to the side band projects of SlipKnoT. If you don't know about the bands well let me enlighten your minds.
The band Stone Sour was aproximately formed in '97. The original founding members are Corey Taylor and Jim Root from SlipKnoT. By the time they had released their first album, they added an additional guitarist, Rand the bassist, Economaki and the original drummer, Ekman. But later in 2006 prior to the release of Come What(ever) May Ekamn was replaced by Mayorga from Soulfly who is currently the official and permenant drummer of Stone Sour. (pictured on the left)

Rand - Guitars
Economaki - Bass
Mayorga- Drums
But the band did not get it's initial start back then. The band was struggling with getting shows and getting members that would stay in the band. Taylor disbanded the band and he along with Root joined another local band called SlipKnoT. With the new band they released Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat on July 13, 1997 as a self release. The band known as Stone Sour would not reform until 2002 when Taylor and Root heard from Rand and reformed Stone Sour. They enlisted the help of Ekman later that year as the drummer for Stone Sour. The band recorded their first single, BOTHER for the Spiderman Soundtrack and later that year released their debut self-titled album under Roadrunner Records. After the release of the album, Root and Taylor went back with SlipKnoT and recorded and released what would be SlipKnoT's most influencal piece to date, Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). Two years after the release of Vol. 3, SlipKnoT released their first live record aptly named 9.0: Live. After the tour and the release Root and Taylor rejoined with Stone Sour. Also that same year the band let go their drummer Ekman and drafted Mayorga from Soufly to be their now official drummer. Finally on August 1, 2006 they released their Sophomore album Come What(ever) May. Currently the band is on tour on the Family Values Tour 2006. Also before the record was even released Taylor and the rest recorded the music video for their first single off of Come What(ever) May, 30/30-150 and following that video they have just released and shot the video for Through Glass, their follow up single.
Murderdolls, a combo of rap and metal was the bands rise to stardom. Teh band supposedly formed sometime in 1999 with the the drummer of SlipKnoT, Nathan Jonas Jordinson (better known as Joey Jordinson) and guitarist Tripp Eisen from Static-X. Later Tripp Eisen was replaced by Acey Slade on guitars. The current band is as follows: (pictured on the right)
Wednesday 13 - vocals
Joey Jordinson - guitars
Acey Slade - guitars
Eric Griffin - bass
Ben Graves - drums
The band literaly formed on Ozzfest 1999 with the two guitarists drafting members for a new band project. They released their debut album, Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls on August 20, 2002. Currently there is speculations that with the break of SlipKnoT, Joey and Wednesday are supoosed to get the band together again to record their SOPH album. The album is speculated to be released in 2007.
