Write what you hope for in 9th or Ravnica or whatever.

they did a creature based set. legions. no one really liked that one. that set was just all about smashing with pumped critters. artifact based? did that with mirrodin and urza. enchantment? they are sorta doing that wiht Kamigawa. sorcery instant? do that all the time. they just need a nice mix. and they always come out wiht new abilities...or bring back an old on.

Does anyone have any cool ideas of what could be a new ability?
PostPosted: Sun May 22, 2005 2:28 pm

i thought of a sorcery ability. if your opponent plays a creature with the cost of X you may pay X to replay this spell. kinda weird but i think it would be cool. and of course X is just a specific mana cost. so kinda like buyback but you can play it later. heres a red example

2R
deal 3 damage to atrget creature or player
relearn 2- if an opponent plays a creature with converted mana cost of 2, you may pay 2 if you do, you may play this spell as though it was from your hand.

this would be great for red (burn), green (land search and +/+), black (-/- and lose a life), white (prevent), blue(....duh counter and card draw)

they should bring back flashback madness and storm

Yes. but madness was kinda hard to play. you needed to make sure that you could discard cards and have mana for their madness cost. otherwise the cards were pretty bad.

Who needed mana when Madness that were actually played only cost 2 mana at the most? When your BEST Madness spell, the Basking Rootwalla, cost nothing to play when it was discarded.

There was always a way to discard cards. Turn one means Island in play, Careful Study, draw two cards, then discard Basking Rootwalla and Wonder into your graveyard. Later, Wild Mongrel and Aquamoeba did your discard needs fine.

Anyhow, I'm gonna bet money that Ravinca is gonna be the Enchantment block. What I've noticed, is that Wizards is remaking older sets for new audiences, and I wouldn't be suprised that the theme of the Urza's block, which was Enchantments is gonna be it for Ravinca.

Kamigawa was the remake of Legends, and Mirrodin was a remake of Antiquties, so yea.

I would really like to see more legends in Ravnica like Kamigawa. If you don't intend on having more than one in play at once, Legendary cards are powerful.

Actually, I thought the Ravnica block was supposed to be another multi-color block?

i love multicolor! but i no longer have any decks for it. i used to have 5 decks each two allied colors. but they were not very good so i took them apart.

Multicolor will be interesting. Invasion block did it well, especially since it had stuff like Vindicate and Terminate.

Here's hoping for Vindicate and Armadillo Cloak clones, huh? 3nodding

I heard that they are taking out some of the better cards in 9th. Thay had better put something really, really, really awesome in its place.

Multicolored cards won't be bad, but I hope they don't over do it. Too many multicolored cards and effects suck. It will destroy monocolored decks. sad

Destroying mono was what Persecute and Addle do.

As for what I want to see in Ravinca: Balance. For Christ's sake, in Saviors, we got a new Ancestral Recall. Is it too much to ask for when I ask for balance within the colors instead of feeding all the power to Blue?
