To answer my own question. . . . Um, Sailor Moon and Utena for "Series" and for "movies and/or OVAs" Miyuki-chan in wonderland, X/1999, and Toyko Babylon (the manga made more sense, but it makes X make more sense). xp

Fushigi Yuugi
Card Captor Sakura
Berserk
Escaflowne
Grave of the fireflies
Rurouni Kenshin
Hana Yori Dango. .. and list goes on hehe

well i would say sailor moon, but when i go back to watch it, i found out its crap...but i really like the first digimon show! that one is the best, worst dubbing ive ever heard, but still good

Almost every anime I like is pre 2000 so it will take some work to narrow them down for me...
For Movies/OVA I like: A Kite, X/1999, Vampire Hunter D (the original 1978 release), Pet shop of Horrors, Shamanic Princess
For series: Vampire Princess Miyu, Utena, Card Captor Sakura, Oniisama E, Rose of Versailles, Galaxy Express 999

And there're a lot of anime that I like^
OVA:Twin Signal,violinist of Halmn(Ova not the series)
Movie:Kaze no Naucissca,Laputa,Spirt Away,Inuyasha
Long series:Magic Knight Rayearth,Mahone no Guru Guru,Doraemon,Dr.Slump,Dragon Ball(Ok I got influence from my family sicne my cousins,neighbors watch) Inuyasha,Escaflowne,Sailormoon...Can't list all of them out @.@;;;

Berserk (I forgot when this came out... but it's way before 2000) And Fist of the north star (came out in 1980!)
