When my little brother was smaller he would walk up the stairs and have our cat attack his head. She would wait around the corner at the top, then pounce once he was in view.
She did that again a few days ago, him being much older now.
Cat's and small children do not usually mix well. Most cats like a nice lap to sit on and being petted to whatever preference their owner knows they like. Such as some cats like having their belly rubbed, while others will hiss and scratch if such a thing is attempted by anyone.
Today there were three small boys at our house picnic thing terrorizing the cat with their very presence. They knew the cat was angry yet kept trying to poke her. I had to run with her up to my room and keep said children from coming in by locking the door.
Maybe I just don't like little boys. The girls were usually so much better behaved.
