SourceQuote: Another point the pro-family legal advocate emphasizes is that the district's ban does not target any one group but rather applies equally to any sex-based club. Moreover, he says the school board members had several common-sense reasons for adopting the "no sex-based clubs" policy. "They said we don't want to have any sexually transmitted disease," Gibbs notes. And, he continues, they said, "We don't want any unwanted teen pregnancies, we don't want any sexual harassment, we don't want any of the students harassing one another over sexual issues." And the board members said they certainly "don't want any child predators or any molestation of any students," the Florida attorney adds, and they "don't want children coming into contact with material that would be adult only." The policy barring sex-based clubs, he suggests, is a measure designed to ensure that none of these undesired outcomes are encouraged through a school-sponsored activity. They're really not helping his case by calling him a "pro-family legal advocate" right before his quote about how it's not biased...

It's the same mindset that makes people insist that children's books explaining that some families have two moms or two dads be moved to the adult's section. To them, anything involving gay people automatically = gay sex, and therefore is adult content. This is why media gets a higher content rating when queerness is involved, and kid's shows can show a boy and a girl going out on a date or even kissing, but they'd be walking tightrope to do the same for a boy/boy or girl/girl couple. *Frowns.*
There's no reason to it. Just blatant homophobia.

What does he have to say about the vast amount of heterosexual teens I see making out in the hallways every day during school?

Florida is cecoming anti-gay every month! mad Why do i have to live there!
Anyways back into topic! How is a GSA sex related? sure it talks about sexual orientation but how is that leading to any form of sex? Does that mean that all schools should start teaching abstinance instead of sex ed.? Seeing how abstinence means not having sex before marrige or a serious relationship it is hard for a gay person to not have sex when he's not allowed to marry any of his same sex partners, while atleast if you teach sex ed. you'll know he will use protectiona dn other things you learn in that class.
About kid's shows not showing a homosexual relationship is based on pure homophobia! Don't you think kids already know what gay is? I mean my seven year old sister knows what it means to be gay!

They're basically going against what they should be teaching highschool kids. Hell, Middle school kids need to be taught sex ed AND abstinance. Not teaching these kids anything and not talking to these kids about it is only making it worse. They're going to go out and do sexual things anyways so they're not stopping anything by doing this. Plus I agree that a GSA is not a sex based club. Yes it deals with sexual prefference but that's like a parent talking to their straight kids about their girlfriends / boyfriends. This makes me sick. People are so ******** stupid. stare

If that happens at your school, I suggest you take your GSA underground and fight that rule.
