Well, there is always onigiri..... sweatdrop Do you mean Japanese recipes? Or any simple rice recipe? If you mean the latter, you can always look up something on allrecipes.com

When cooking plain white rice, I used to use a rice cooker exclusively, but since I don't have one with me in Japan, I just cook it in a pot. It's the same concept, except now I have to remember to go and turn off the heat instead of having it turn off automatically. You just soak your rice in water for half and hour or so, heat it to boiling for ten minutes, then turn off the heat and let the rice sit on the still-hot burner for another fifteen minutes. Very simple. <3 180ml of rice and 200ml of water is enough for two servings.
I have a good and simple paella recipe on my computer somewhere if you're interested in Spanish cooking. ^^; And I'll second kazabana on the allrecipes.com link - I love that site and use it whenever I'm looking for new things to cook.

I remember my mom made the best sticky rice, perfect for fried rice, by taking 2 cups of water for every cup of rice. We have a rice cooker, but you can do it in the microwave too.

And you could always just buy sticky rice at the supermarket... I think our store calls it "sushi rice". rofl

A recipie that i came across through experimentation is that you take 2cups/1cup (water/rice) and let it soak for 30 minutes and then let it cook for the full duration, (in a rice cooker) which makes for some really good rice. (and sticky too!)
