The Sky God woke slowley, his wings were draped over his partner from the night before. He looked at her through his purple eyes. They had only just met, yet they had done something which was reserved for those with true love, which Kweupe did not think they had.
It was in the heat of the moment, he assumed. They were both lonely, sad and tired. Kweupe hoped they could eventually forget and move on with their lives. He gave her a soft nudge with his paw, "Good morning Kiva?"

Morning, and the moon's reign was over already. Kiva would wish that the night before had lasted longer. She'd anticipated the guilt she'd feel come the sun's rise and having to face the possible consequences of she and Kweupe's very irrational actions.
Yet, she was warm as she stirred, his wing overlapping with both of hers. She had instinctively curled up at his side, and realized now how much smaller she was compared to him both due to physical maturity and gender. His one wing was enough to span and cover her entire back and side, protecting her from the chill of the night that she'd gotten so accustomed to.
She gazed back at him with almost identical eyes, but hers were a bit more concord and orchid, rather than the violet of his. They were a tangle of soft whites, soft baby blues, and soft tans, and she felt her skin heat under her fur finding how close they were. She supposed she couldn't count herself as a child anymore after this, for certain.
"Good morning, Kweupe... did you sleep well?"

"Sleep. Yes, sleep was good." He murmered, he didn't know why but he couldn't look her in the face now that she was awake and they were talking, instead, he opted to take an easy route and flew from their resting area and out of the cave, to watch the morning sun greet him with warmth.
Kweupe had no clue of what to say to Kiva anymore, and he felt embarrassed about their actions the night before.

Of course, Kiva winced as he leapt away from her, up to the "skylight" and out through the entrance/exit. Somehow his retreat left her feeling ashamed. This wasn't how she'd anticipated things going. Had she just taken advantage of him to appease her own feelings? If that was true, some trick it did, she felt lousy and was fairly certain now that he did too.
She was more reluctant to get up, and even more reluctant to follow. Yet she did. Once her paws touched the already sun warmed rock that made her home's roof, she kept her eyes on the ground, head bowed as she stepped forward, asking a question in such a soft tone that it hardly seemed a question at all.
"I guess.... maybe last night was a mistake, wasn't it...?"

With forced courage, Kweupe looked at Kiva in the eyes. She had pretty much summed up their actions last night, and he knew he felt somewhat ashamed. He glanced down, not sure how to answer. "I suppose in a way, it was. We were both in a stage of emotional.. meltdown and we needed each others comfort. It really could not be helped. I suppose we should just put it behind us for now..."
Kweupe looked longinly into the sky, wanting to be there again.

"Yeah." She whispered, voice wavering with the threat of tears. It seemed like no matter what she did she only managed to hurt others and herself. "I'm sorry, Kweupe."

"It is fine Kiva," He comforted her. "It was not your fault, it was entirely mine and I should be regretfull. I am sorry to have caused you pain." He spoke quietly once more, his purple gaze falling to the sky, its endlessness and possibilities.

"Don't take all of the blame, Kweupe. I made the decison last night too. This pain is self inflicted." She smiled a bit sadly, finally finding it in her to look at him, only to find his gaze skybound. Her heart clenched sadly, realizing that he was anxious to return to his domain. She didn't want to stop him, but maybe she'd hoped... "I think that's all there is left to say, I know you must be eager to be on your way again. It was nice to have some company again for a change."
Just hold out until he left, that was all she had to do. They could both move on with their lives then.

Kweupe smiled, he hoped they would remain friends and see more of each other in the future if fate permitted it. "Thankyou Kiva, you have been very gracious. The Sky is calling me once more, and I should be off." Kweupe looked into the distance, before back at Kiva once more.
He unfolded his massive wings and lept into the air, beating softy, soaring over the lands of the Unity Walkers, he wondered if he would ever return to this place, or Kiva.

She could only watch him until his figure became too blurred by her tears, at which point she turned from the sight of his retreating figure and turned back to her lonely little den. It just seemed so unfair. The keeper of Unity couldn't even keep those that she cared about around her. Had she been punished after all, and been living in ignorance all this time? She wished Kami was there, or Mpenzi, or Limbuko. Why were the only people who could calm her down and cheer her up so far away?
She landed in the den again, the puddles rippling beneath her paws as her teardrops began to fall one after the other. She'd been such a fool, such a complete fool. This hadn't fixed anything, only made the pain so much worse.
How could she have been so wrong?
