... Is God. Before anyone says anything, let me clarify: He created humans, with the ability to free will. When you give humans free will, you give them the capacity of both good and evil. Satan didn't birth hatred, violence, or disobedience in God, but rather teased and tempted that side out of humans. In other words, while Satan watered the seed, it was God who planted it.

morsusmihi I never thought of it that way. The weird thing is... I thought of this while listening to Slayer on the way back from Church. It didn't influence my thought that much, but I guess in some small way it could've played a part. The more I thought about it this strange philosophy, the more it made sense to me... mesh-the-lonely ...i've heard it explained like god making something and the devil poisoning it...but i suppose thats the opposite of what you said... Actually that's not too far off.

Balance...he probably knew that given the choice we would sin...he knew that eventually we would sin...and that would bring in evil and therefore there would be balance in the universe.
Sorry if that doesn't make any sense.

Actually, that makes perfect sense (though it sounds a little Buddhist... then again, many major religions share universal themes)

Dead_Ed Satan didn't birth hatred, violence, or disobedience in God. Guys, you forget where satan came from? Heaven!! and why was he hicked out? for being disobedient, violent and full of hate!!Those three factors of evil were created in his heart (satan's) later he infected Adam and Eve's hearts with it.

I don't exactly agree. I don't think God is the evil one. It is actually us. When He created Adam and Eve, he gave them a choice whether to obey Him or disobey Him. (free will) As we all hopefully know, they disobeyed Him and we were sent into a world of immorality, cruelness, wickedness, and basically just sinful. Yes, God does allow us to sin, but we still have a choice whether to do that sin or not. So, I think it is mostly mankind with Satan tempting us.

Well as I've said before, I don't believe God is a malevolent being, but by creating humans with free will he gave the ultimate possiblity for evil. Just like how Rockstar Games accidentally left the Hot Coffee mod in GTA: SA in small pieces that were unearthed by hackers and thusly created a bad situation.

God gave us free will and made us sucesptible to sin for a reason. God didn't make us drones who are forced to obey god OR ELSE!! because, the way I see it, he has angels for that. I think when god created us in his image, it means more than a physical image. We have his creativity and his emotions as well, although on a smaller scale. So basically we are like mini gods, or gods in training or something like that. We were allowed to fall into sin so that we would see evil and long for god, and God sent jesus so that we would be able now to choose god out of love instead of duty. I think that in heaven we will have jobs to do that will utilise the gifts god has given us. One of our jobs I believe is to judge god's drones: his angels. I believe it says that in the bible actually. I can't quite remember where tho...sorry. : do you not know that you will judge the angels?" or something...
