The sun shone high in the sky at midday, sparkling brightly in the blue sea that lay above. Fuffly white clouds filled the distance and the grasses swayed with a smooth breeze. Herd animals roamed comfortably around, grazzing with careful eyes out for predators. It was beautiful...and it was always the same. Adanna sighed heavily as she rolled over onto her belly so that she could stare at the ground by her paws instead of everything around her. She was bored again, her tail flicking sluggishly to the side. There was only so much she could do to entertain herself without going anywhere...and she was painfully aware of that fact. With a twitch of her ear in irratation she glared at a rock a little ways away, as if that would solve all her problems.

Nukta's eyes remained trained on the orange figure lying ahead of him as he made his approach, a touch of a purr on his throat as he drew closer. For some time he'd picked up on Adanna's vibes, but he'd been selfish... he wanted to make sure that his mother was alright, truely happy with her new mate, and their cubs before saying anything about it. She really had moved on though, and he couldn't stand in her way, nor could he stand to hold Adanna back any longer. Just.... where could they possibly go?
"I guess the peace gets repetitive day after day, doesn't it?"
His darker figure finally slowed to a hault, standing beside his mate as she layed in the grass, before mischeviously mussing up the fur atop her head.

At first Ada didn't notice him, but feeling her fur being messed with on the top of her head she looked up with her famous sour frown upon her lips. "Hey!" She stuck out her tongue at him and put her paws over her head, both smoothing the fur and preventing another "attack" from her mate.
For a while it seemed like she wasn't going to answer, or perhaps that she hadn't heard, but then she grumbled with energy, "I don't know what you're talking about!" Her heart twisted uncomfortabling in her chest at the outright lie but...she couldn't help it. She recalled how happy Nukta had been to come here. It had stuck in her mind like an image that she couldn't erase. That was why she had never complained verbally before and...for her pride's sake she wasn't sure she wanted to start.

"Sure." He said with a small smirk, lying next to her afterwards. "So you're perfectly happy here, then? Where every day is perfect, just like the one before?"

"Of course...." Adanna grumbled, sounding discontent by all his questioning. She rolled over again so that she could look up at the sky, wrinkling her nose in that funny way she always did when she was thinking or frustrated. "Why shouldn't I be happy? It's perfect here...everyone knows it. Why do you think people keep coming?" If was funny how Ada wasn't the logical type, but if she had an emotional reason to do something she could mask it by her strange attempts at using facts.

"Because maybe perfect isn't what we want." He reasoned, lifting his gaze skyward as well as they rolled by, not a hint of rain in sight. "And maybe because we've lived the life of rogues since we met, and maybe, settling down like this didn't have to be permanent."

Adanna turned her head to give him an oddly surprised look. It was skeptical too, as if she wasn't sure what she was hearing. "But you love it here...it was like...you're dream place or whatever. You always talked about it when we traveled...and you were happy when we finally got here..." Her heart tightened a little. Did he...did he really want to leave to...? To be out on the road again? To have each day hold something new and exciting?

"Yeah... well, maybe I was.... you know, wrong."
He mumbled the last part, but then smirked sheepishly at her instead of the stretch of blue above them.
"The kids are old enough to look after themselves now. That's... really all I wanted, someplace safe for them to come up. It's their choice what they do with their future from here on out, and yours and mine for what we do with ours."

He was right. But then...wasn't he always? It was funny, for him to say he was wrong and actually mean it. She wasn't stupid enough to be blind to the fact that she was usually the wrong one, though her pride prevented her from admiting it. But...the kids were old enough now. Maybe that was another reason she had refused to complain verbally about how she felt. She couldn't have left them and...it was better for them here. She might be a bad mom but...she wasn't so bad she was willing to abandon them, like she had been abandoned.
She swallowed, trying not to let her hopes and excitements run away with her. Control was not her strong point, and it showed, for as hard as she might try she couldn't hide the anticipation that leaked into her voice, "You mean...we could...leave...?" Saying it so plainly sounded wrong in her ears but...she didn't want to rant about her love of traveling if the answer was going to be a no.

Nukta nodded quietly in answer, which wasn't unusual for him. He'd never been a very chatty lion.
If this would make Adanna happy again, and he was sure he would greatly enjoy getting back to the adventurous lifestyle that they'd had before, then it was worth whatever risk. Mosi and Jini would look after each other, he was sure. They were good kids, if not loud and foul mouthed on Mosi's end. Besides, travel was in his blood. He felt like there was something more out there for them, something other than the day to day laze that the pridelands here gave them.

The look on Ada's face was priceless. She broke out into a wide grin, her eyes alight with excitement. Rolling swiftly onto her belly she did something she hadn't done in a long while...she pounced him with a sharp, joyful laugh. It was as if her hopeful bubble had burst, giving her a huge amount of energy she had pent up living here in the peaceful, slow moving pridelands.

Likewise, Nukta did something HE hadn't done in a long time. Double-take and squawk in surprise, landing on his side-- just a tad too slow to get fully out of the way. @_____@;;;;
"Yeah, well, we still have to TELL the kids, and probably Mufasa and Sarabi." He said with his usual attempt to hide his own excitement. Her's was contagious, and he couldn't stop the grin from forming. "Didn't realize you were so easy to please, Ada." He teased.

Adanna jutted out her lower jaw in a pout, obviously not to pleased to have her playful mood met by rationality. That was no fun! And he had to damper down on her spirits too. She sat back on her haunces, looking a little put out, "Oh come on...does it always have to be 'but remember we have to do this' or 'don't forget this'? Can't we just be...excited?" She wrinkled her nose and twitched her tail, "And sure I'm easy to please, when you don't throw the details in my face. Bleh!" She wasn't really upset with him or anything but...x3

Nukta did have a laugh at that, covering his stomach with both paws as he lived it up for a moment. It was such a relief to see her smiling and acting like her old self again with this much energy. Still, he felt a small bit guilty for dampening her mood.
He rose to his haunches again and gave her ear a playful, wrestling tug.
"They're important details if we don't want to be tracked down. They're teenagers now. That means they'll be ten times worse than when they were little. Those innocent little bites and tackles from Mosi might HURT now."

Adanna gave him a skeptical look, "I tackled you plenty when we were teens...and you weren't even as big then. That's no excuse." She sighed, wrinkled her nose and flickering her ears slightly. She did know what he was getting at, however. "I didn't mean leaving without telling them," she complained with a grumble, swishing her tail sharply. "I only meant that...do we have to think about it right NOW? Couldn't we have a little...bliss first?" She sulked, looking very much a teenager again and not a mother of two.
