It has come to my attention that Out-of-Character, OOC, has been interpreted as meaning something different from its traditional use in RPGs. Out-of-Character means that you are saying something outside the game, not your character. OOC is traditionally used to ask a question, give a suggestion, make a joke, etc. Not to give a response from a non-playable character (NPC, one that serves only as a story prop), or a player character (PC, one that someone is playing).

In traditional pen-and-paper games (D&D, Vampire the Masquerade, GURPS), one person, the Storyteller (ST) is designated to "run" the game. The ST is responsible for providing the story. In other words, the ST provides the scenery through description, provides directions to decide success (roll dice and get a certain result, play paper-rock-scissors, etc.), and manages the NPC's (i.e. store keepers, random people on the street, the Antagonists). It is that person's job to develop the world that the players are interacting with.

The style of RP used in this guild does not distinguish a clear line between player and ST. It is the job of all members posting to contribute to the description of the world. It is the Mod's job to provide the overall story and to approve and help implement the stories of the members. The Mods also serve as the final arbitors when a dispute arises. As a member of the guild it is your duty to help weave a better story and become a better Roleplayer. As such, you have a large degree of freedom to create and use NPC's, such as the Gummi Express Operator. Unless someone says that they are responsible for an NPC, you can post their actions freely. Proper usage and posting improves the story and the guild. Below are examples of proper NPC and OOC usage.

The following post serves as an example of proper NPC usage:
AthelLoren-wardancer
Axel stepped out of the portal, "Oh, geez! Where did he go?"

The man at the Gummi Ship Shop noted axel's familiar dress, "You mean the guy in your same clothes?"

"Yeah," Axel perked.

"He left in a hurry. I asked about a gummi ship, but he simply disappeared," he made a poof action with his hand.

"Alright, thanks!" As Axel put up his hand in goodbye, a block portal consumed him.

This post shows proper OOC usage:
Avatar of the Geek God
"THAT IS NOT MY CONCERN. BECOME A GNAT AND YOU WILL BE SWATTED WITH AS LITTLE THOUGHT." The clouds in the room formed a swirling ball.

((OOC: We can edit and delete post. We can backtrack if necessary.))
