She'd been flying for hours, and goodness knew if it was getting her anywhere. She was still just as upset as when she had started, if not more so. She was beginning to understand what she had to do to make things right, or rather, finally coming to terms with it.

~Gods and mortals were never meant to mingle like this. This is why.~

She thought, backwinging as she came to land atop a cliff beside a rushing waterfall. There was a clear view of the night sky overhead, the moon hanging gracefully in the sky. Kiva found herself easily loosing her current train of thought, intead drifting into the past as she watched the almost lonely moon shine...

~What would have happened if things hadn't gone wrong back then? Would the three of us still be together as friends? Would this have happened?~

Since leaving the Pridelands Kweupe had been endlessly in flight, occassionally stopping for water to to hunt some food, he didn't know where he was going, he was following the sky. His light blue and white fur stood out against the star-studded black backdrop of the night, making him visible to almost all who would be looking upwards.

The sound of running water caught he ear and he turned and headed towards it. Waterfalls were mysterious things, enchanting and amazing at the same time.

His purple eyes caught sight of another winged lion next to the rushing water. He hadn't met another God before, but he could sense that she was one. Curious to know more about the winged lion, he flew forward as he called out a, "Hello?"

"Hello..."

Kiva made room without even giving it a moment's thought, shifting so he had space to land. Other than that she didn't really have much to say. She looked at Kweupe a bit uncertainly, wondering what it was he might want, even if it was just as simple as a brief rest and companionship.

"What brings you to this merger of jungle, valley, and ravine, friend?"

Kweupe landed next to Kiva with a soft fluttering of feathers. He licked his paws for a moment before answering her question. "Dear, I have no true reason as to why I am in this place, I simply follow ths sky. It is my home, and it takes me wherever it wants me to go."

He tried to make out the surroundings in the darkness, but he couldn't make anything out other than a few trees and the waterfall. "Where am I?"

Now, she didn't mean to be rude, but she couldn't help a bit of a mirthful, genuine laugh following his question. He'd sounded so profound and wise just seconds before, only to follow through with such a query. However, it was the first time she'd laughed in days. If only for a few moments it did seem to bring joy to her heart.

Her expression softened, but now lacked the worries of before. So he was indeed a stranger to her lands. She'd show him about, then.

"This is the home of the Unity Walkers, my children..." Answered the adolescent, softly, turning her gaze out over the valley where the Pride slept on the other side of the rock wall behind them, the trees of the jungle laid out before them in front. "As I mentioned before, a combination of jungle and valley, waterfalls and ravine." An ongoing theme of unity did indeed seem to encompass the land and the pride within it. "And I'm Kiva, keeper of Unity. You might be?"

The Sky God didn't know why the female had suddenly let out a small burst of laughter, he couldn't see anything that was funny around, so he dismissed the action, not wanting it t be about him.

"The Unity Walkers... it is a Pride I have never heard of, of course I don't know many of the other prides. I tend to keep to myself alot." He spoke softly, it only seemed correct in the moonlight. "Jungles and ravines, this area sounds quite interesting, though with all the trees you couldn't possibley see much of the sky from the ground?" He thought it was strange, to not have a full view of his treasure.

"I am the Sky God. Kweupe." He told her, yet this time he did not spread his wings or ruffle his feathers, like he did when he met mortals. There was no need. She was of his kind.

"This is true, but the valley provides quite a view, as there aren't as many trees. It's needed for shade though, some days it's quite hot, being so fully exposed. The young ones need shade from the sun. He seems to be glowing more brilliantly these days than I can remember before." She smiled softly. She'd never met him personally, but knew of him. "Would you like to have a look around, Kweupe?"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 02, 2006 7:57 pm

"Well, it should be taught to spend more time in the valley, the Sky is beautiful and deserves to be seen by all." He commented. Kweupe to, had herd of the sun god. He was around all of the day, and a prominant feature in the sky.

"If you would not mind Kiva, a tour would be nice." He smiled back at her, the moon glinted in his eye.

"Rest assured, most of their time is spent in the valley..." Kiva said, trying to be considerate, but there was clearly a conflict of opinion there. Kiva believed in her element, very strongly, and her children were currently divided between Earth and Sky. Both had equal importance. She didn't want to offend Kweupe, however.

"Most of them are sleeping now, so let's avoid the valley for the time being. I'll take you to the ravine and the cavern where I stay while I'm here. It has a beautiful view of the sky, and the moonlight highlights the water in the cave. It's quite a breathtaking sight." She smiled to him, turning to begin walking the wide birth of the rock wall for now.

"As it should be." He noted. He didn't want to cause conflict either, yet he didn't know how Kiva felt on the matter. When it came to the sky it was his number one.

"Lead on dear." He said as he walked beside her, his body larger in size due to their age differences and gender. He pressed his wings against his back so that they would not rub on her. He had a tendency to keep them out.

And that she would. It was the first chance she had to take her mind off of her worries all day. It was also one of the first times in months that she'd had the pleasure of another god or goddesses company, at least, well, she'd spoken with Limbuko some short time ago, and it had helped, but she was not liking where the direction of things were headed. Would she have to make a sacrifice similar to Kamilika's soon? To give up the two that she'd come to love to ensure their happiness? It was better this way wasn't it? She'd live forever... they wouldn't. Any children they had would die as well. She should have known this already from Athrun. Was this some of the pain that he felt, knowing he'd never feel the touch of the one he loved again...?

Thinking of her friends in the past caused her heart to cringe, and her gaze to faulter. She tucked her wings a little tighter and kept her stride alongside the paler god, focusing again to watch for her home's entrance to come into view.

"It almost seems odd we hadn't met before now..."

His mind was in thought too, as the walked. Yet he had no worries like Kiva, he had no family, no pride to belong to, no true friends of his own, only those he met as he was travelling, and for a short moment his thoughts made him feel sad. Not for long however, it was his own choice he had no one to return to, to speak with at anytime, and for now, he liked being a wanderer.

He held his pace next to her and thought about her question. "Why should it be odd that we have never met? It is only by chance that we were in the same place at the same time. If not we may never had been here now."

"I suppose. I guess, it just seems odd that despite there being so many of us, most of my life has been filled with mortals rather than other gods. It gets lonely sometimes, always having to remain so detached from them. They have their families that they spend their entire lives with, and we're usually a fleeting rarity to them. Their lives pass by in what seems like nothing by the time I reach physical adulthood. I haven't had friends like you or me since I was a child, one cycle so long ago I can't begin to remember exactly when."

And the only family that she had was her sister, Shiva, who she rarely ever saw these days. Let alone their parents.

"No truer words could have been said my dear." He walked alongside her as he continued to speak. "I.. cannot for the life of me remember much about my childhood it seems I have always been travelling, never staying in one place for too long. But I follow the sky, and that is how it has always been."

Kweupe didn't have much more to say, so he looked forward and continued at their steady pace. This was the first conversation he' had in a long time that contained a hint of emotion.

"Same here... I've always watched them find their happiness, and for a long time that's always been enough for me. But recently one of my best friends started a family of her own. Seeing the three of them together reminded me of- .... of how long it's been since there was anyone for me to talk to or call family of my own. I haven't seen my sister in years, and I've never had any real children of my own. What about you then, Kweupe? Is that something you've ever wanted for yourself, even just a bit?"

Maybe... just maybe.
