I was in Kelowna, a city with a large tourist trade due to:

-Lots of hiking
-Scenery
-Right next to Okanagan Lake

There is one way into Kelowna without taking the long way around the lake through Vernon or Osoyoos - a three-lane bridge that is nearly always BOTTLENECKED going one way because one side gets two lanes and the other gets one at any given time.

The bridge is at the bottom of a small mountain, and Route 97 will come out of the tiny town of Westbank and go up what's left of this mountain. On the way in, due to the sheer amount of tourists, there are billboards, most of them on the northbound side. I guess you know what's coming.

After a few advertisements, just before the highway turns to go down the mountain and onto the piece-of-s**t floating bridge, there is a huge billboard with "Abortion stops a beating heart." Upon seeing this, my mom had to endure a short tirade. EVERY ******** TOURIST who comes into Kelowna will LIKELY see that.

It took a few minutes to realize what riding I was in: Okanagan Central. The riding represented by that idiot who ran for office as Prime Minister before the Reform party merged with the Progressive Conservative party. Guy named Stockwell Day, and if Bush uses his morals in laws, Stockwell does it more.

I also noticed when I was in the bookstore getting a copy of Brave New World(didn't really like it =/) that right next to Huxley was a book called "The Abortionist's Daughter." Looking at the title, I could tell it was likely pro-life tripe, even though it was in the fiction section.

So yeah. My vacation wasn't too exciting, as it was a four hour drive to get there, slightly more because we stopped a lot and had to detour a bit, and four back, and on the way back we stopped twice.

I saw that same book in the bookstore today. According to the description, it's about the murder or an outspoken abortionist and the controversy surrounding it.

Looking at it again, her career may play a minor role in the plot.

I saw that book once at Costco. From reading the back, it looked like abortion actually had little to do with it. *shrugs*
