Safura'miezi found herself leaving her current home, the Umandem'funi lands, to search for one of her oldest and dearest friends. He should be about her age right now, if not a bit younger.

Korou. Her first cheetah friend, her best friend, and her little brother. She missed him dearly and wanted to see his face once again. She bet he could definitely outrun now; a lot more than before, when they had been but cubs.

She smiled to herself. She knew how to find her sneaky little brother. Quietly, she made her way to a most familiar area; the area she and Korou had first met. Would she see Kor here again? She hoped so.

Korou trotted over the grasslands happily, his tail wagging behind him as he sniffed to figure out where things were and how close he was to the tree he was about to bang into.

Thwack!

"Ouch." The blind cheetah murmmered under his breath. Flicking his tail against his legs he backed away from the tree and sniffed it softly, making sure that he recognized the scent of them so that he wouldn't hit another one.

Twisting his dark head, the cheetah's bi-colored eyes flashed brightly for as blind as they were. He might not have been able to see the beatiful day around him, but Korou knew that it smelled good at least.

Safura blinked when she noticed a familiar orange-spotted cheetah... run into a tree. "Hm?" she wondered what was wrong; when she had met him a long time ago, he could see where he was going... "Korou?" she called, walking toward him.

Why was he acting so weird...? Couldn't he see? When had he gotten blind? Her thoughts whirled around her mind at the speed of a cheetah (no pun intended) and she blinked again. Ruby eyes looked him up and down. Although their meeting was expected, he'd grown handsomely.

She smiled to herself. Maybe he had an interest in someone? She hoped to catch up with him soon on such matters.

Pricking his dark ears forward brightly as he recognized the voice that called his name. "Safura? Is that you sis?" Wagging his tail brightly the cheetah bound up towards her and stopped just before he slammed into her body.

He sniffed at the silver female for a moment and let a slow smile spread over his muzzle as he wagged his tail brightly again and ran in circles around her.

"It IS you! How've you been Safura? It's been so long!" Korou said at last, he was so beyond happy at that moment that there weren't even words.

She grinned at him. "You did grow! You silly cub." She licked his cheek in greeting, then asked, "Why are you sniffing at me? Trying to find secrets?" She teased him, then nuzzled him gently. "It's really me, Kor. I've been well... I missed you, little brother."

Safura hadn't been to see her family in ages; her brother, Kor, was the only one she remembered from when she was a cub. Kor's mother she had met, but she couldn't quite place a vivid image of her. Kor and possibly Kifijo were now in her mind from her past; she was sure Kifijo had moved on; she was starting to miss Zimwi suddenly.

But enough bemoaning. "Kor, are you all right?" she asked, wondering why he wasn't really looking right at her face, rather somewhere where she was instead.

"It seems like you grew too, at least from what I can tell." Korou said with another tenative sniff at her. From what he could sense she was a lot bigger than him already, though he had to expect that. She was a lion after all.

Leaning forward he nuzzled against her head lightly and sat down before her. "It's how I see now. I don't know how, but somehow I wound up blind. Weird huh?" the dark cheetah said brightly wagging his spotted tail like a dog would. "But I'm okay, even my mate knows I am." Korou reassured her with a smile.

"Where've you been?" He asked after a moment of silence, "You were suddenly just gone."

She grinned as light laughter erupted from her maw. "Yes, I grew. I miss being a cub a little... and what's this?" she blinked at his words, thought she nuzzled him back.

"Since when did my little brother grow up and get a mate, hm?" she teased. "And I... feel sad that you can't see, in a way..." she whispered. "You've grown into a handsome cheetah, Kor." If she herself didn't already have a mate, then most likely she would have flirted with her brother.

Maybe. "I've been... around. Remember when we were little, I told you I went all over the place? I told you we'd see each other again, didn't I? And I know I just suddenly disappeared, but some things came up. But I'm back now, aren't I?"

"Why would you miss being little?" Korou ased gently. "Personally I love being older and larger." A gentle grin crossed his muzzle and he curled his tail lightly against his one of his hind legs, happy that it was so long.

Reaching out a paw he put it on Safura's forehead gently and smiled. It was hard finding it, though he hoped it wouldn't entirely be useless. "I'm glad you're back Saf, really I am. I missed you a lot, but don't feel sad that I'm blind. Eyes aren't the only thing that one can see with. Believe me, if it weren't for my mate I wouldn't know that as well as I do, so trust me."

"How've you been? You're right, you did disappear suddenly. Why is your own business, but I hope that whatever you were looking for when you did you found." Korou told her quietly.

"I miss being little because it reminds me of how nice it was when I was foolish and naive," she said, laughing. "I'm not so sure I like being older and larger... I still can't beat you in running!"

When his paw touched her forehead, she had to blink back tears. "I'm glad to be back, too," she said, hoping the hoarseness in her voice wasn't giving anything away. "Well, I can't help it, Kor," she said, trying to sound like her old self. "You're family, and I worry!"

She nodded agreement, knowing he would feel it with his paw. "I disappeared because... well, curiosity got the better of me." Her grin became a tilted smirk. "My wandering self seems to have slowly dwindled, though. My mate keeps me in one place, you see."

"Being little is what makes us ready for being older. You can't stay naive forever sis." He said making a slight face at her, though he wasn't entirely sure what kind of face it was.

The young cheetah could almost feel the tension that brought tears along in himself spread over Safura's face and he leaned forward, licking his sister's forehead softly. "I know, I would worry about you too. But it's been a few weeks, I know how to move around now and how to hunt and everything. Sure I still walk into trees from time to time, but I'm mostly okay, I promise. So please don't cry."

Dropping his paw from her head after she nodded, Korou blinked faintly, "Mate's will do that at times. Mine got me to stop wandering as well. What's your mate like?" He asked her as he tapped his claws in the dust to gte a feel for the ground again.

"I know you're right; that you're very right. But can't I have the priveledge of missing the past?" she teased with a long sigh. "When did my little brother because so wise? It's not fair," she mock complained. Though she was older in body, she was most definitely the same little Safura from back then, though maybe slightly more mature.

"I'm glad you can, Kor," she said quietly, tears drying. "Otherwise, I don't know what'd I do... except maybe cry... but I can't do that, since you're not letting me." She pulled a face at him, wondering if he'd be able to sense it. "My mate? He's sweet, though somewhat afraid of the outside world. White as snow, with orange eyes. He's almost like me, in a way--just this single solid color, except for the eyes."
