Nuriko's, Chiriko's and Shouka's deaths (anime and manga), Takiko's grief over her mother's death (Genbu kaiden), Ghost-Hotohori with Houki and Boushin (OVA), Rokou's grief over Nuriko's death (OVA) and Chichiri with Hikou (OVA). Those ones all made me cry. crying

Also, something about Houki's situation just makes me so sad. "Houki" (放棄) means "abandonment" in Japanese, and that's really her situation, in a way. Go watch the second OVA and Eikoden if you don't believe me.

For me it was Chiriko's death. When I first watched it, I was still upset about Nuriko, and then to watch this poor innocent boy act so bravely in taking his own life really upset me. I cried more for him than any other scene in all of anime (except for Houshin Engi, but about 3 times as many people die in that series than in FY, and I'm talking main characters).

Of course, that's just the saddest scene. I think the most emotional thing in all of FY from me was Eikoden. And this was due entirely to the fact that I was incredibly upset at how lousy a job they did in the anime of it. Talk about a let down. xp

These are depressing... oh well, I asked for it (and I forgot to post what I thought mine was). Chiriko... crying gonk god that was aweful, it was one of the saddest things I've ever seen in an anime (seconded by the death of Hotohori... damn u Nakago u evil *insert bad words here*)

Chiriko's was shocking.... I hadn't expected it.. I'd, unfortunately, found a spoiler for Nuriko and Hotohoris' deaths, so they didn't affect me as much as CHirikos did the first time.... they all made me very very sad... I just cried a lot more for Chiriko, cuz I was like "WHAT!? No! How in heck could that happen!?" But as for most emotional scene.. there are too I really think affected me... the one when Hotohori is dying... and the one when Hotohori was speaking to Miaka towards the end, when he was all "Just allow this pathetic man to love you" or whatever... the single most emotional scene, though, was the end, when they all came back.. I smiled so much, and I began to cry with joy, even if it was just for a moment.. it made me so happy to see Hotohori-sama and Nuriko once more...

I loved that part too!!! It made all their deaths seem less cruel and enraging to me (Hotohori confessing his love to Miaka is so sweet!!!!!!!!!! crying )

Holy Crap, my poll has got no votes for the Priestess of Suzaku, does nobody like birds anymore?! By the by, another emotional part is when Yui gets raped (supposedly) and Miaka still wants to save her (yeah, I kinda tear up at that part, the happy clingy sucker friend.. no offense people... and Yui, the kinda cold hard person who wants to see Miaka on a spit in her room roasting slowly)

eek I get choked up a bit at that every time too . . . almost identical to Nuriko's reaction. Stunned silence. Bowed head. Utter shock at the appearance of Shokeshkun, Suzaku's Champion.

When Yui found out she was being devoured....... I think I said that was my favorite episode in that other post? But... yeah.. My heart actually sorta stopped for a second, and I did cry a bit for Yui-chan... I'm a lot like her, that's why ^^;;

When Tatara and Suzono die at the same time and their souls reunite. heart
PostPosted: Mon Oct 11, 2004 8:47 am

Personally the most emotional scene was the death of Chiriko for me. The altruistic event made me even more respectful of him despite his lack of development as a character, it truly was a very poignant moment.

Similarly the reunion of seperated lovers and the death of Nuriko did invoke some reaction but not quite as much as that of Chiriko.

Why?

Chiriko is a very unknown character, he's not as popular as the moneyhungry Tamahome or the 'vain' hotohori so spoilers were extremely rare. Therefore the action was completely surprising and caught us off guard.

Surprising?

I would say so.

"Transciences of a Water Mirror" (Chichiri & Hikou) was both my favourite episode and the most emotional for me. No question. I've seen it about seven times, and I've cried each time. So it definitely wins. But Nuriko's death and the death of Tamahome's family... those were pretty bad, too.
