The first language I've taken that REALLY is sticking with me is Latin. I realised it's because Latin is typically taught by story. At least my books were (Ecce! Romani). The first chapter wasn't JUST vocabulary or an introduction to the culture. You were given a picture (yay for pictures...) and a small paragraph with some vocab. Then the teacher basically walked the entire class through the paragraph as you identify words that are similar to English.
I love this kind of learning. I enjoy it very much. I've lately been wanting to learn German and Romanian as first priority, then Scottish Gaelic, Japanese and Russian as second. The program I'm using to learn German is a British radio program called Warum Nicht. I'm quite liking that a lot. My only problem is that I have no way to learn how to write German. I was wondering if someone knew a good book that would help.
I also want to learn Romanian, however I have the opposite problem as German. I have a book, but no way of know how to pronounce it (and the key for pronouncing the letters in the book confuse me). I was wondering if there was a good program or anything to learn from.
