[rules]
1. Do not post here unless you are one of the following: ~ karma_k ~ another Fourth Wall guardian ~ someone with permission from me ~ dropping off a gift (in which case it should only be one post)
2. Please do not ask to buy my Fourth Wall child. She is not for sale. Go stalk the Fourth Wall thread.
3. Please do not ask to buy or have first dibs on my Fourth Wall child's offspring. a) I have no idea when she'll grow up, or b) if she'll be successful in courting a mate. Besides, I'm not about to be bought off. I don't know what I'll be doing with any possible future offspring. I'll decide if and when it happens.
4. Please do not ask me if/when babies are available. I have no clue. Go stalk the Fourth Wall thread.
5. Please do not continually PM me about any of the above, or playdates, etc. My inbox is rather full from other things. If you really want to ask about visiting, etc. please try and catch me in the Fourth Wall thread before PMing me.
The Fourth Wall concept, background, and artwork (c) karma_k. No stealy. This particular kidlet is mine. No stealy.

[brotherhood]
The Larkin Brotherhood consists of five adopted brothers, shown oldest to youngest (left to right).
The oldest, though certainly not wisest brother of the bunch, Zero Larkin is loud, bossy, and extremely vain. He prides himself on his appearance, always taking care to expose the right amount of skin, and if someone fails to pay attention to him he feels extremely affronted. Despite these faults, Zero is actually quite good in emergency situations, and in addition has some medical training and serves as an EMT. He displays uncanny insight when necessary, defaulting to his normal brash demeanor at all other times. The main drawback to holding a discussion with Zero is that he is unable to speak in anything other than a basic bovine language (which is essentially a series of moo-like sounds), which is easy enough for most animalistic types to understand but takes practice. As such, his brothers often translate to strangers, much to his chagrin. During the day Zero works as a receptionist at a medical building, and at night he alternates between volunteering as an EMT and doing the dishes at home- he looks great in a lace apron.
The second brother of the Larkin family is Kyuubi, more often referred to as Kyu. In a sharp contrast to Zero, with whom he is very close, Kyu is shy and introverted and suffers from a severe lack of self-esteem. Even with his family he can be reserved, and generally prefers being left alone, despite the fact that he does enjoy the company of others. When he's not busy wallowing in (usually unecessary) guilt, Kyu spends his time outside with his camera, or at home in the makeshift darkroom set up in the basement. On occasion he sells photographs to small magazines or websites, and has good relationships with several publications, both online and in print. When talking about photography Kyu actually loosens up a little and can go on for quite a while, though there are few other subjects that get him to open up so much. In crises he is the first to panic, but also the first to try to offer some kind of help- he just needs to be told exactly what to do and have assistance. Kyuubi serves as Zero's most constant translator, and does most of the dusting and vacuuming in the house. Elsewise, he stays shut away in one of his rooms.
Dorian is the third and middle brother of the Larkins, and the most undefined one. Even he claims to not know much about himself. Unlike the others, who have clear interests, Dor doesn't like much of anything more than anything else, and makes no real attempt to find something worth doing. He is the only adult in the family who's unemployed and doesn't mind this at all. Annoyingly easygoing, it's difficult to find something Dorian doesn't like, or even something he does. The only things known to make him show any kind of reaction are cherries, which he will fight over if necessary. Even his appearance is careless, as well as far too thin for someone healthy. When home, which is most of the time, Dorian earns his keep by keeping the house in decent repair and helping take care of Urian, who he considers his personal playmate. He is also occasionally called upon to serve as translator for Dorian, and does some basic shopping for the family. Despite his unaffected attitude, he's actually good with kids, the only time he takes any responsibility at all.
Fourth and formerly youngest, Denes Larkin is the star of this particular story and serves as parent, brother, and manager of the Larkin household. While he actually does have a paying job backstage at the Durem Opera House, most of Denes' time is spent making sure things that need to happen at home happen. He's the one who ensures that the bills get paid, the cupboards are stocked, and most importantly, that there's actually food, as no one else in the family is capable of cooking something edible. Somehow he manages this despite a minor heart problem called Mitral Valve Prolapse, and chronic fatigue. He also helps to homeschool Urian, along with his other brothers. A gentleman at heart, Denes does try to make the best of things the way they are, but at the same time prefers living the high life with wine, classical music (though he has a closeted love of J-rock), and is quite a gourmand and an excellent cook. This has helped to dictate the path that he travels, a cross between full-time at home chef and part time stagehand. Even more than food possibly, Denes loves children and has long wanted one of his own. Since his last relationship left him with a broken heart (that he later found out was actually malfunctioning), he has become more guarded, and really only lets his guard down around children, despite an obvious unease.
The last and youngest of the brothers, Urian is a good deal more cheerful and upbeat than the rest, and tries to look at the bright side of things. As he's a good deal younger than everyone else, his elder brothers tend to influence his behavior. He's careful with his clothes and appearance like Zero, but in a different way, tending to stick with bright pastels and tye-dyed shirts. Like Kyu, he's considerate and does his best to avoid offending other people. Dorian is his favorite playmate and the two love to try to best eachother in everything, especially video games. And with more talent than the rest of his brothers combined even at his tender age, he's begun taking cooking lessons from Denes. Unlike any of his brothers however, Uri absolutely loves spending time with animals, and brings strays into the house to rehabilitate all the time. He's also a good shake more athletic than the rest of his family, and shows great promise in track and field. Urian is the member of the family that everyone else feels comfortable around, mostly because he never assumes, never takes real action on his own, but instead simply does things his way and looks at everyone with the same cute smile.
