Into the halls you hear a luring soft tones from the strings of a koto. You listen closely, as you explore the classrooms trying to find the music. Finally, you come to a fairly large classroom. The music resonates off of the classroom's surroundings filled with a variety of instruments. Drums and shamisens lay in spacious rows across two koto and several stands of music. The insturments yearn to be played, so they, too, can let out their tunes of music in harmony with the koto.
Upfront the koto's strings vibrate as their player changes keys. With grace in each note she plucks the teacher, Iyasu-san, looks up from her instrument and gives you a welcoming smile.
"Welcome to music class, where you will learn the songs of old and new of the Flower and Willow World!"

Iyasu scurried about the room, tiding up things here and there to make everything semi-perfect for the students. She hoped to teach these girls everything they needed to know about music and help them to decide on what instrument they would like to play later in their career.

Popo enters the classroom. She runs to her onee-san and hugs her, "Onee-san! I'm so excited! Music class will be so much fun! Teach me everything, onee-san! I want to know everything!" Popo was nearly jumping up and down. She was terribly excited for the start. She was eager and ready to learn. Popo had always thirst for knowledge and awaited this lesson with much entusiasm.

Iyasu laughed and hugged her little sister in return. "I'm glad to see you're so excited, Popo-chan! You will learn everything that I know about music in due time. Please, go on a head and pick up a shamisen and take your seat. We'll be starting soon." She smiled softly to the girl.

Arikku walked into the room humming a little song.. She stopped in front of Iyasu and bowed.
"Ohaiyo Iyasu-san." she said and smiled.

"Good morning to you too, Arriku-chan! I see you're already in the spirit of music class." She smiled to her and bowed back to her. "Go on a head and select out a shamisen and take your seat. Class will begin soon."

Popo sits down right in front waiting for the class to begin. She was so excited to begin and to see who would be in her class. She loved meeting new people, though sometimes she was kind of shy. Popo turned and looked over at Arikku, "Hello! I'm Popo!" She smiled.

Ariku picked up her shamisen and walked over to Popo.
"Hi, I'm Ariku, it's nice to meet you Popo-chan." she said nodding her head to her.
She set her shamisen down on the floor.

"I'm from Hinohasu, and you?" she asked smiling.
She picked up the shamisen and began to tune it the best she could. Since she didn't remember that well how to do it.

"I'm from Mizunoyuri. Do you enjoy your Okiya?" Popo asked smiling. "My Okiya has a lot of really nice girls and a pretty garden. I love the garden."

"Hai.. I don't spend too much time there anymore. But, it is enjoyable. The Hinohasu's garden is very beautiful as well. So many lillies and cherry blossom trees." She said day dreaming of the spring at her okiya. She finished tuning her shamisen, sort of, and she switched to sitting on her hip.
"So Popo-chan, how old are you?" she asked with a smile.

((Ahh! Making me think!!)) "I am nearing the age of 15. How old are you, Ariku-chan?" Popo asked curiously.

Ariku smiled, "Me too, I turn 15 in May." she said. She wondered when the class would start.

"Well . . . if other girls come in late, they'll pay the consequences of it later." Iyasu said as she stood up, "Girls, since it is only us, what kind of song would you two like to learn how to play? Cheerful? Sad?"
