Why her? Why always Kilah? She'd been a good girl...sort of. Whatever. She still didn't deserve this. And who left a baby sitting out in the middle of the yard anyway!? Not just any yard, but HER yard. This snot-nosed brat had NO right to be here!
No matter what she did, the stupid thing cried. 'Shut up' had made it cry. Poking it had made it cry. She could guess that crying would make it cry.
Out in the yard, she was in plain view of anyone who happened to pass by the home or peer out one of it's windows. However, it would seem like she had just knelt down to examine a bug in the bushes, not a baby.
"Shut. Up."
The command had no effect and the baby continued her screeching sobs.

"I wanna see Kilah!" Mignon had screeched, an hour before. As Jeane was busy, and Pepito was still missing, it was Bob who dragged the screaming girl from the house.
Happy once again, Mignon skipped down towards Kilah's house. "You wait here!" She told Bob, who raised an eyebrow.
She entered the yard and saw Kilah, then galoped over happily. "My Kilah! How are you?" She asked, then tilted her head. She recognized cries, and looked down. "Oh, a baby! How'd this get here?" She asked, leaning down.

"Well, I was walking, because Gizmo had to go to the 'vet', and I was bored, and I came out here, and I tripped over this thing." Her tone was bitter, and it took her a few seconds to realize she hadn't answered the question. "I dunno how it got here, though."
The baby sniffled, hand grasping the star on the blanket wrapped around her, and her unusual eyes stared up at the newcomer. They seemed to have little color to them, a few shades above her hair color. "Nnnn..."

"Hum!" Mignon said, tapping her chin with one hand. "A baby appeared on your yard! Looks like you got a new sister. That's how mommy got all my brothers and sisters."
She leaned down. "Aww, she's coote!" Mignon said, tweaking a pudgy toe. "I wonder what her name is? She looks too little to tell us."

"Well, I don't want a sister. I have a sister, and I already don't like her." That said, she moved closer to the baby and carefully took one hand. Then the other, and soon enough she had her arms hooked under those of the baby, dragging her along. Hmph.
"I'm just gonna have to find somewhere to hide her, I guess."

Blink.
Hide the baby? Babies weren't supposed to hide! "Don't hide the baby! You wouldn't have liked someone to hide you when you were a baby!" Mignon protested.
Sometimes, she didn't understand silly Kilah. Babies ment someone new to play with! Someone to sing to, and teach!

"People did hide me when I was a baby!" The toddler snapped, ignoring any protesting otherwise and continuing on, slowly but surely. It was true, speaking so harshly to Mignon was a rarity, but she in a bad mood as it was and now her best friend was siding with this stupid baby!
Couldn't she see KILAH was here first? Stupid baby.
To Kilah, babies were something that were okay as long as they didn't invade her house permanently. Then they became someone to hate, and someone to get rid of. Which is just what she was doing.
But the toddler couldn't catch a break today, and grumbled at the familiar voice that called from one of the tree tops nearby. "Hey, Corona, why're you dragging that baby around?"
"Don't call me that! Damn!"

Mignon's eyes became sad, both at remembering the missing Kilah and of the tone of voice. Why was her Kilah allways so unhappy? What had those mean people done to her?
She wanted to hug her friend, but felt like it would be shrugged off. That made her very uhappy. She tightened her fists at her side.
Luckily, there was someone else there! Someone who made Kilah say a bad word. The little girl glared up at the tree. "Shut up, stupid!" She snarled. "We were having a private convosation! Go away!"

"Just ignore him." Or not. No matter what they did it wouldn't matter. Because people like him just never learned.
Landing swiftly on the ground, straightening and running a hand through his purple hair like the 'cool' guys in movies (careful to avoid the fox ears, of course), his blue eyes looked to Mignon questioningly. "You sure are a rude thing, aren't you? I thought Kilah was mean, but jeesh."
With a broad grin, he leaned against the trunk of the tree and glanced over each of them, then this way and that, laughing loudly when he didn't see him. "I guess that thing is too afraid to be around now with me here!"
Kilah suddenly looked much more annoyed, and it probably wasn't because of the baby. "Aren't you have suppose to gone home by now?"
"I was, but I can do whatever I want. I'm the ruler, after all! Well...almost."

Mignon made a low noise in her throat. Her left eye twitched slightly, and then she perked up. "Hullo! Are those real?" She said, cheerfully, reaching over to yank one of the boy's ears. Hard. "Oops! Guess they are!" She said, cheerily.
"Who is this, Kilah? One of Yama's people?"

"Heey! Don't do that!" The boy, no older then them, whined and moved away from the onion girl, nursing his poor ear with a sniffle. Girls were so mean. Of course, he should've been expecting it from one of Kilah's friends.
Answering for her, he announced proudly, "I'm the ruler of the island. Or I will be, one day. And I'mma gonna change the rules. And when I'm growed up, I'm gonna marry me Kilah."
Not being able to see didn't effect the obvious action Mignon had taken. Stupid fox-eared boys. "Yeah, some moron." Said in such a way that suggested he hadn't said a thing in response to her question.

Island... Island... Oh! Yes, now she remembered! Mommy had told her a little bit about Yama's island. That's where Kilah had been hiddided a long time ago. That's where Noharu came from, too.
She smiled big and gave a sweet, innocent, childish giggle. "When you become leader, could you make it so that everyone didn't wanna kill Yama and my Mommy? That makes me real sad. And when I get sad, I cry. And when I cry, foxie people fall down and hold their ears." Mignon paused, tapping her chin lightly. "Most people do, actually." She giggled again and clapped her hands.
"But if you're going to marry Kilah, that means I get to make you over! You'd look soooooo cute with some of Pito's eyeshadow and lippystick on! Awww!" It gave her goosebumps just immagining it! It's be precious!

"You're strange..." Momoro muttered. She was right, she did make his ears lower. This girl was strange. Were all of Kilah's friends like this? Still, she seemed...okay, and much, MUCH better then that thing. "O-okay."
As for what 'eyeshadow' and the likes were, he hadn't a clue. What he did know, however, was that this girl was Kilah's 'best friend'. He didn't understand such titles, but he could go along with them, and assumed it was a very good sign to have his future-brides 'best' friend approve. "When I'm ruler, I can make any rule I want!" Quite proud of it, obviously.
Kilah had lost interest, but the next thing he said got her attention back quick. "And I'll have lots of stuff."
"What kind of stuff?" She asked immediatly, and if she could've seen Momoro grin that oh-so-arrogant grin of his she might've slapped him.
"Anything I want. And you can have anything you want. And your friend here,uh-" Whatever her name was. "-can have anything she wants, too."

Mignon looked at Kilah and frowned, slightly. Even though Kilah seemed interested in the fact this boy had lots of stuff, she didn't think that would make her happy.
So she looked at Momoro evenly and said in the dryest tone she could manage, "I don't think you could give me what I want."
And, then she forgot about him again as her perky side took over. "So, Lala, what are we going to do with your baby, since hiding would make her sad?"

But he had Kilah's interest. Stuff was good. More importantly, money was good, because it could be said stuff. MOST importantly: Money was power.
"Like money?" But when Mignon was speaking to her again, she seemed to forget she asked, or didn't care to wait for an answer, and shrugged her shoulders. "I'mma gonna hide her, like I said. Who cares if she's sad? She's already sad."
By now the baby didn't look sad, just plain confused. One minute she's begin poked with a stick, and the next she's surrounded by big kids talking, and then she's being drug along the ground again.
What weird people!
Deciding it wasn't the best time to win Mignon over (he had plenty of time, after all, as they were far from 'growed up'), he glanced at the baby, ears twitching. "What is it?"
